That's not a compliment, it's the perpetuation of a stereotype. That Black people can sing and so she had the power of a black woman instead of her having the power of a good singer. Many Black singers can't sing as good as her. That's like saying to someone you have the body of a black woman, that's not a compliment. That's the perpetuation of another stereotype and furthering the fact that Black women have to fit into an atypical mold to be attractive, we all have different voices and different shapes. So me personally, I say it's not a compliment. Nor is saying you're pretty good in bed for a White guy. Or saying to a guy you have the persistence of Mexican man. It's a stereotype and it's not cool just because it's normalized.
