The deer park was approved by the Wildlife Advisory Board on February 15, 1986. It was later inaugurated on 8 June 1986 by the late former Prime Minister Janaki Balhab Patnaik. At first it was built on only one acre of land. Only four deer were brought in. Two of them were brought from Rayagada forest block and two from Harishankar Mruga Vihar. At present, the area of ​​Papadahandi Deer Bihar has been increased to 30 acres. It is home to wild animals and birds such as kutura, barha, peacock, and chasingha. In 2009, the Central Zoo authorities recognized New Delhi as a small zoo.
There is more to this deer park than anything else. A park has also been set up for children by making a children's park.
A wooden house has been built here. Where you can take photos. There is a lot of space in this deer park for photography. Where there are green branches and trees, where there are flowering trees.
Outside deerpark hotel, and chat shop has all these catering stalls, and Chhotu Maharaj has a cine restaurant where you can eat and watch a movie, which is a new concept, this cine restaurant is the first cine restaurant in Odisha.
