You may as well be uninsured at this point. This is ridiculous. NJ lets you get $250k in PiP. $10k doesn't even cover a box of tissues at a doctor today.
Only in the US.
Healthcare is a scam here.
There ia no care, and no health.
Exactly 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯
So my take on this is that the insurance companies in a no-fault state lobby for these types of laws in order to sell premium insurance policies.
I've also learned that no-fault laws are way more absurd than I initially thought.
Thanks for the infomation it help me to understand it much better.
Valerie - Glad it was helpful to you and thank you for tuning in!
Wow, I learned more from this short video than I have from my attorneys. I was a pedestrian in the crosswalk with time on the timer. Car ran red light and hit me. There is video of me being hit, provided by FHP. I spent a year in bed. Multiple spinal fractures, knee fractures, wrist, elbow. The impact knocked me out. I'm unable to work. I still need more surgery and medical treatment but since I am unable to work now I can't afford the MRI or doctor visits... I learn in this video that I could have been getting proper treatment the entire time? My attorneys just blow me off every time I call or email! I am in excruciating pain, daily. Some days I can't even walk 5 steps without tears in my eyes
Thank you for the kind words and for tuning in. We are very sorry to hear not only about your accident, but that you are having issues with your law firm. We encourage you to continue to reach out to them and ask questions and don't give up.
...if you use PIP too much, some insurance carriers will refuse to write a policy for you. So, you are forced to purchase it but you get penalized for using it. This makes little sence...but It's Florida. Nothing really makes sense there.
The US overall makes zero sens from any Healthcare stand point.
DO YOU HAVE TO PAY BACK ONCE YOU GET SETTLEMENT/MONEY FOR TOTALED CAR IN WASHINGTON??? HOPE YOU REPLY
Thanks for explanation,
Question: I don't have a car and no PIP/PDL insurance, but I'm planning to rent a car in Florida.
Should I buy PIP/PDL insurance to cover the rental period?
Thank you for tuning in and for your question - If you have full coverage in the state that you are in, your policy will have a provision that will honor the minimal coverage limits for Florida. If you have something less than full coverage then you should purchase the additional insurance offered by the rental company. I hope this is helpful to you.
This was helpful and I’m in Florida! But do I need PIP and Bodily Injury Liability?
Thank you for turning in and for your question. Please feel free to call our office M-F to discuss your potential claim further. You can reach us at 850-444-9299.
If you qualify for PIP. Is PIP extra money towards settlement check ?
Thanks for tuning in and for your question. PIP is not extra money. Personal injury protection (PIP), also known as no-fault insurance, helps cover expenses like medical bills, lost wages or funeral costs after a car accident, no matter who is at fault. Requirements for this coverage vary from state to state.
🙋🏻♂️ Question PIP is per accident no per person in the vehicle, correct? I mean if there let’s say three passengers injured in the accident the $10K PIP is divided between the three passengers, right?
PIP is per person if they are a resident relative of the house. If not per person, it will be from their own car insurance.
I don't know when was the last time you guys been in the hospital but $10 is crap
if I was involved in a n accident does PIP cover the persons car who I hit?
Taylor - Thank you for tuning in and for your question. If you are injured, your Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage from your own policy will pay for bills up to $10,000. Florida requires drivers to carry a minimum of $10,000 in Personal Injury Projection coverage. Under Florida’s “no-fault” auto insurance law, most injured drivers seek reimbursement for accident costs from their own carrier, regardless of who caused the collision.
If your bills are higher, your own health insurance should pay for your additional medical expenses once your PIP has been exhausted. If you do not have health insurance, some providers will treat you with an agreement to be paid out of your settlement. This agreement is set up between your lawyer and the medical provider.
I hope this is helpful. PIP pays for injuries only, it does not apply to property damage for you or the other driver's vehicle.
