Xehanort's self-proclaimed goal is to create a world that is balanced equally between light and darkness. To do so, he himself has fallen to darkness, which is why his keyblade is mostly dark instead of completely equal between light and dark. As another person already said, the jagged parts could symbolize the Keyblade War that he wishes to bring about, or it could represent how his goal is noble, but the method he is using is evil. Same reason as that person for the eye - Kingdom Hearts.

I'm just looking at the positives, and emotions don't have an effect upon personality. Just look at Demyx, he didn't have emotions and still looked at things differently... even Axel and Roxas had different views. Larxene was always "angry"...they all have their personality's still even though they lack emotion...at the time of becoming a Nobody it only create's an imprint of the persons personality onto the Nobody-to-be...i'm just sayin that I look upon things in a positive way.
