We maybe the only ship left, but we will not go down without a fight. We'll steam west. We'll strike the airfield under the storm cover and create a safe passage through the Singapore Strait. Glad I wasn’t the only one. His performance was amazing even though it was just another army story. This campaign stuck by me for so, so many years man. RIP to Mr. Williams. Tombstone will live on in his memory.
I came here because this song touched my heart and soul in the game. When I saw the title "A theme for Kjell" I started to figure things out and did some research, and I read to whom it was dedicated and why. Kjell Reutersward passed away in a tragic accident, and left us at an age of 34 years old :( Rest in Peace DICE developer Kjell Reuterswärd.
If you go into Battlefield 4s main menu, click credits and scroll down under the games name, you will see: "In loving memory of Kjell Reuterswärd 1979-2013"
Play this song, one more time, just for our fellow soldier, who died surrounded with those who love, fighting cancer until the end, you really will be missed Tony. Rest in Peace, Thick44.
I felt a real connection with the characters I really liked the campaign with the ending making a sacrifice with this amazing theme in the background, "No regrets No fucking regrets"
Rest in peace Kjell, Williams, and Thick44. You all delivered something special to a Battlefield fan somewhere. Whether it was simply the game itself, a favorite character, or just some laughs, you all delivered some good into the world and brought people together within the Battlefield community. Fly high boys. You will be missed, but not forgotten.
Everyone who came here today and in the following days to pay tribute to the memory of a good person who gave us so many good memories, keep in mind - y'all are amazing. Both as people and as a community.
Unlike many, i find a deep emotional connection when i play story-based games/campaigns. i find i always think about human factors about all characters not just the mains, such as "do they have a family?" "Where are they from?" and other features, even for the enemies i am forced to kill. i do kill them cos its a game lets be honest (its what you do in an FPS :P) but if i stop to think for a bit it almost makes me feel bad for i will think about those simple questions... its a weird, wonderful and depressing sensation to have in a video game as few share that kind of psychological interpretation of what is actually happening in the game. I find it is an incredible experience, and that soundtracks like this help to reinforce just what is happening and what impact it may have on the people around you should it have really happened.
m8, same here.... i put myself into the characters shoes, maybe im sad.... but im happy. I love good emotional games you know.... its the story line...
I just wished that BF4 campaign had actually delivered. The first mission was amazing, but it sort of decayed after that, storyline wise. BF3 had a wonderful campaign, it stay true to the story and it caused some emotion. My favorite two scenes were when Vladimir died, and Dima's speech in the end.
Battlefield campaigns tend to handle character deaths fairly in my opinion. i mean think about it, BF3: vladimir, Campo/Matkovich, even the abruptness of Montes' death BF4: Dunn, Pac's near-death, Irish/Hannah in the end (depending on whom you pick) and even deaths such as Dima or Kovik. I found myself having at least a bit of emotional dismay in all of them, more so for the more dramatic deaths.

"Pulling the trigger" You see your target. Your weapon is loaded. You have the target in sight. Should you pull the trigger? It seems so simple to just do it. But is it so? You're about to extinguish a life. Just like your own life. You're about to eliminate years of experiences, hundreds and thousands of memories and a unique personality. You're about to kill someone's sibling. Someone's parent. Someone's child. Someone's cousin. Someone's friend. A fellow human being, just like you. Are you going to pull the trigger? - LethalOwl, inspired by A Theme for Kjell
I would pull the trigger because you dont shoot shoot someon for nothimg i would shoot him for my land/countrie my people and i would do evrything to defend it i would even kill my best friend or famili if it was a enemy
Yahya Tas What makes your country worth more than your own family? Being a nationalist is nothing to be proud of, when your own country doesn't give a shit about losing you. Then there's not much of a country worth defending.
One of the best theme in history. I finished this game and on those days my dad passed away. Everytime I listen to this theme, i miss him dearly...He was the best and tried very hard to keep us happy.
Something that I found on a forum thread. Kjell Reuterswärd has been through a tragic accident left us 34 years old . He grew up in Brunflobadet with parents and two brothers. After graduation and military service , he studied engineering at Linköping University. During his studies , he was active in various student organizations . He completed his education with a scholarship year at Stanford in the United States and thesis in Los Angeles. Since 2005 he has worked for computer game company DICE in Stockholm , first as a programmer and in recent years in a management role . He was just about to move to Los Angeles again , this time to be part of building up a new DICE office . Prior to this, he was very excited. Kjell was a purposeful , creative and active person with a developed aesthetic sense . He set high goals and often managed with what he was doing. In addition to his dedication professionally , he had many interests. By that time he tried several different sports such as football, golf , skiing and more. Most dedicated was he that hockey goalie in Brunflobadet NS . Sports Interest was later to run. He successfully completed several Marathons . Kjell had a keen interest in outdoor activities and nature. It manifested itself in everything from pushing up bonsai , hiking in Sarek with good friends, for staying in the family's holiday home in Åre. Here he switched off by ski, sauna and make a fire to roast over open fire at us. His interest in food grew with the years and combined well with travel together with friends and family. Kjell was caring and generous to family and relatives. For cousins in Torvalla he was an extra brother. A very special place in Kjell's heart had his little nephew. We are many around Kjell who miss him terribly !
Rest in Peace Dice... Battlefield and the original developers of the franchise - Thank you for the good times we had with the franchise, many hours, and a lot of fun and many things... Unfortunately what happened and what Battlefield 2042 turned into a Hero shotter With micro-transaction to specialist... And several mistakes... I never put faith in the franchise again - so... Here we owe our "F" for Battlefield
In Battlefield 4 i felt more attached to my squad mates in the campaign than any other battlefield game, so when that ending came, oh man. I didn't want to choose any of them, i wanted to choose myself. I was willing to sacrifice myself so that Hannah and Irish would live. Never has a game moved me quite so like Battlefield 4, say what you want about the campaign, but it touched me, made me feel i was there, so much so that this is one of my all time favourite stories in a video game. The characters are so believable, Hannah, what can i say, i love her and Irish, oh Irish, no regrets man, no fucking regrets!
I said something similar as you some days ago in a forum. Some bashed it but I cant see why.. It was this little squad that were more tight then everything else. I played campaign and specially the last mission many times.. I would sacrifice myself also... Good to see more people that like the campaign :)
When you charged at the Warship in the RHIB boat, and Irish says," Do or Die Tombstone!" That was one of my favorite parts! I would've especially chosen myself. Right when I found out that the C4 wasn't functioning I was like, " Let me go down!" P.S I chose Irish the first time because I feel he would feel that guilt for the rest of his life if he didn't go down to blow the charges.
Michael K Williams, the Voice Actor of Irish was found dead in his New York apartment, due to a drug overdose. Irish wasn't the most complex character but he was charming and his voice actor really nailed the role. Let this storm carry you home, Michael. O7
Same, never played it, only saw it through videos and I don't even liked the gameplay that much (the story is alright I guess). But this piece is just incredible and the ending hit my feelings more than I actually expected.
I've never heard a more emotional song. How can notes make me question the purpose of life? Put some headphones on, turn it up so its all you can hear. It's so beautiful. It's pain. It's grief. It's hope. It's joy. It's love. Music like this takes people places. It lifts you up into weightlessness. It's different for everyone. When I hear this song, I'm screaming down an endless road on two wheels, the sun on the horizon in front of me. I don't know if it's setting or rising-dawn or dusk. A silent wind wiping tears of joy & sadness from my face. The world, my life, a blur. No consciousness of time or space. Just the overwhelming sense of complete freedom, into infinity. Whoever composed this song... Thank you.
Dammit im a fanboy of everything. CoD stories slayed. Bf Bc2 bf3 and bf4 stories slayed, and the Crysis trilogy slayed. I absolutelly love all these games ^^
Such peaceful music brings me back to my high school time when I turned on my PS4 after school and enjoy a few rounds of amazing conquest games. Now I have started working in a company as an adult, friends never get online again, and PS4 sold. BF2042 sucks, but man, I really miss good old times.

I am a hardcore Battlefield player. COD is fun but my heart will always belong to Battlefield. To this day, my heart still goes out for Kjell's family and friends. Battlefield 4 is an amazing game, and probably arguably the last good one. I might re-buy it just for the nostalgia factor alone though.. Wish Kjell was still here to witness BF4... It's community is amazing and will always hold him dear to their hearts, including myself. ♥ R.I.P Kjell ♥

(sry wegen rechtschreibung)
I dont even know what to say while im listening to this masterpiece... BF4 was the first FPS game on PS3, still playing it today after 7 years... The memories of playing the game 12hours straight on Friday after school, making friends and the best and funniest moments in it. I thought 2042 is the new hope for the franchise... BF4 never lets me down, but my old friends arent playing it anymore. Time flies
As a kid this game blew my mind, it taught me that even the good guys can die. This shit made me ball my eyes out when I chose Irish moments before knowing the heart shattering death I created.
Same.. I chose Irish because I had more trust in him that he wouldn't fuck up.. after the explosion, it all hit me that he had a wife and 3 kids and he died for all of us. Real hero..
The ending of this game.... I dont know why so many people hated on, mainly because theyre idiots and all they care about is gameplay. But this game, this game connected with me on an emotional level...which is pretty rare in my case. The ending of this game tugged at my heart alot....unbelivable game, props DICE. R.I.P Kjell.
Your right, why did a lot of people dislike the campaign? I think it was a little too complex and hard to understand for some people, but I got it. It is in my opinion my favorite BF campaign.

I keep crying every time I listen I dunno if it's the vibe or the fact killing a character in a game is more than that, it makes me feel about real people who give their lives and sacrifice themselves, what's in store for them and how it effect the people around them , and all these feelings from a song, in a game. Jesus, I sure do love this campaign.
Always makes my feelings come out. RIP Kjell. For what he has done. Loving and caring "Why is it that the people who don't deserve to die, die, but those who deserve to die, don't?"
Everyone one is going to die. Our lives are pretty insignificant in the grand scale of things and I'm pretty sure it's not up to you to judge who deserves to die or not.

Have you ever felt like crying when you watch this? I have. It reminds me that you only have one shot at life, and you better not screw it up. It reminds me that my parents will die someday, along with my sister, friends, and myself.
Tears in my eyes for all the memories for all the years that went by but i am still in love and dedicated for life in this game. I can actually say a huge thank you to all the ones who designed it polished it and fuel up with the best soundtracks ever included in one game. The ending theme must be dedicated to all the fans out there who played it loved it and still support it. R.I.P. my friend you will be always honoured and remembered cause u left us a gift.
Not to mention the devs made loading screen theme soundtracks for every single map too. Some of which are actually badass asf, and just intensified the vibe before you got into the match. 10/10 would purchase bf4 for a fourth time

"Where are they from?" and other features, even for the enemies i am forced to kill. i do kill them cos its a game lets be honest (its what you do in an FPS :P) but if i stop to think for a bit it almost makes me feel bad for i will think about those simple questions... its a weird, wonderful and depressing sensation to have in a video game as few share that kind of psychological interpretation of what is actually happening in the game. I find it is an incredible experience, and that soundtracks like this help to reinforce just what is happening and what impact it may have on the people around you should it have really happened.
m8, same here.... i put myself into the characters shoes, maybe im sad.... but im happy. I love good emotional games you know.... its the story line...
exactly, some say we may overthink it but i dont think so. we are just interpreting it in a deeper human manner
we are clever thats why... they play to kill, we play to expirience and enjoy.
Battlefield campaigns tend to handle character deaths fairly in my opinion. i mean think about it,
BF3: vladimir, Campo/Matkovich, even the abruptness of Montes' death
BF4: Dunn, Pac's near-death, Irish/Hannah in the end (depending on whom you pick) and even deaths such as Dima or Kovik.
I found myself having at least a bit of emotional dismay in all of them, more so for the more dramatic deaths.
I don’t know who Kjell was, but this song makes him to seem like good man in my mind.

"Pulling the trigger"
You see your target.
Nikolas Arvonen *Bows* Thanks for that comment ^^
I would pull the trigger because you dont shoot shoot someon for nothimg i would shoot him for my land/countrie my people and i would do evrything to defend it i would even kill my best friend or famili if it was a enemy

Play this at my funeral.
When vitam meets mortem.
Sorry, but thats too much to ask. This is only to be played for the biggest people that ever lived, shouldn't come anywhere near us ordinary humans.
Was it played at his funeral?
Yes he did. Then Dima came and killed everyone as a free man

I feel you man.
Bailey Rush That bit is awesome, in my first play through I just couldn't do it, I couldn't choose anyone, so Pac ended up dying.
I took Hannah after they had a long debate for my first time.. I choose her because she betrayed me first and Irish had a wife and Children :P
Michael K Williams, the Voice Actor of Irish was found dead in his New York apartment, due to a drug overdose.
Irish wasn't the most complex character but he was charming and his voice actor really nailed the role.
Let this storm carry you home, Michael.

Thank you.

(sry wegen rechtschreibung)
