- The lovely ladies at Deep Deep Light recently sent me a new set of watercolour paints - so I thought we could test them out here together - these stunning handmade watercolours are such a treat made in Latvia with love and care by Deep Deep Light. I would love your suggestions as to what to paint with these colours so let me know in the comments if you think of anything.

Can’t wait to get my first Deepdeeplight paints my lovely hubby has treated me to for Xmas. They took only 5 days to arrive from Latvia but I’m not allowed even a peek at them before Christmas. None of the colours you’ve swatched here Rae but some of these are definitely on my next wish list 😉

I chose 6 colours, I know I specially wanted night raspberry, solstice fern and cherry blossom. Not certain of the others, just have to wait til Xmas to find out!

Helen, these are beautiful watercolour paints. I have seen a number of your tutorials using these paints. Unfortunately, the price in Canada is the eyewatering price of $122.09 for the jam set of only 6 half-pan paints. The price per half pan is $20.33 CDN dollars without shipping or taxes. There were a few paints that had problems matching with other brands of watercolour paints. I would appreciate a brand substitute list for each of the Deep Deep Light paints that you use in your tutorials. A few of the paints are unique in colour so it can be difficult to find something comparable. Thanks again for the helpful video.
Thank you very much. Yes they are on the pricey side but they are really worth it as a special treat. Whenever I post painting tutorials with any brand, I will give an alternative so I suggest if there are any videos you want to watch where I use them, just listen through and I’ll Mention an alternative colour. If when you’re painting along you don’t have a particular colour let me know in the comments what colour you’re struggling with and I will help you
