Thank you for posting this. Last month I ordered a jump ring maker from the UK and due to their mail services I have not yet received it in the mail. Had I found this tutorial earlier I could have just done this to make oval jump rings. So simple to do.
I cannot thank you enough for this video. I have been looking for oval jump rings but to no avail. This will save me a lot of time and money. Thank you; thank you; thank you 😊.
This is very clever! I never thought of using wire to make wire rings. Must try it. You have some lovely things in your Etsy shop. You are really a genius with wire, amazing! Love those bicycles! And you live in Montreal. I visited Quebec when I lived near Niagara Falls, NY. What lovely places - Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Sept Iles, and more. Do they still have license plates that say, "Je me souviens"? I had a great time speaking French.
Thanks so much. Yes, the license plates are the same, they just changed the font colour to green to differentiate them from the Ontario plates. All the best, Heather.
Making an oval jump ring and cutting it at the sides prevents your links from opening up on a jewelry piece, if it is a chain form oval links stay secure and will not come apart or open and separate. Same goes for finishing off your necklaces having an oval link with cut on the sides keeps your ends secure and in place with no risk of opening links like a round one could.
Thanks for letting me know. I've restored the file. An updated list can be found in my newer videos! drive.google.com/file/d/1j4V-8zXSK1-Dh8TX1_IfCbn85PTsc4fk/view?usp=sharing
@@HeatherBoydWire Thank you. The ring cones are something I have needed. How flush do the double flush cutters cut, is there any pinch? I saw most of my rings but sometimes just need a size I rarely use and am looking for a pretty flush...flush cutter that won't break the bank. Thanks for your videos. Have a good day.

Hi Christina: Have a wonderful day.
Thanks for this tutorial. I like using oval rings when not using wire guardians so my small stringing wire doesn’t slip through the connector rings.
You are very welcome. Good advice!
great video. Thank you!
Thank you and you are very welcome.
Thanks for sharing@
You are very welcome Randy.
Oval jump rings, such a great idea! If I don’t have any thick wire, any suggestions what I could use instead?
Hi Gila: You can use nails!

what's a double flush cutter?
The Xuron double flush cutters make flat cuts on both ends of the wire when cut xuron.com/index.php/main/consumer_products/3/307
Is there any specific reason to using oval jumprings in stead of round ones other the looks?
I think it's just a different aesthetic!

no favorite tools ? I clicked on it and it said it was in your trash. Maybe an OOPs? Nice way to make oval rings, thank you.
