That is more like a step over knee bar like dean lister does it but instead of taking the knee dude went to 411 and clover leaf. Back step is usually done off of a knee slice where they catch you (you let them) in quarter guard and backstep back to 411.
That's not a back step to saddle (or how 10p calls it "honey hole"). It's a classic, old school transition to knee bar which you can also use for entering the saddle or cross ashi garami. Also, the back-step to saddle has nothing to do with 10p specifically. It's good ol' regular jiu jitsu, just like the lock down, which is originally called the 'scorpion'. I find it a bit weird how 10p has tried to appropriate moves and entries by renaming them...
Lots of slick movements from both of you. I enjoy your commentary and I like the way you roll - Deadly with your threats, but always calm, controlled, and humble. I look forward to seeing more vids!
Just stumbled on your channel today. Good video and fair breakdown of your roll. Well done. PS. Never limp arm out of an overhook from top half-guard, you're always gonna give up your back doing this.
I know we are all taught that if the person on bottom side control holds onto a kimura grip that they are in trouble of being armbarred. And that is true if they do nothing. If you are on bottom and you roll the person over as they transition, they will not armbar you. In fact you will land in a great spot to finish the kimura from top side control. I do this all the time to people and learned it on a John Danaher Kimura instructional.
5:03 In that scramble as he was about to posture up if you extend your left leg under his left armpit, you could have gone for an inverted triangle. Whenever I attempt an armbar and my opponent defends, I try to link it with either a back take (assuming you still have the arm), triangle, or omoplata.
Yea that kneebar/ honey hole setup is sneaky! We got a guy at my gym that does it. He'll get it from top half-guard and slide his free leg over your stomach and get there.. he goes for knee bar, you'll triangle your legs to protect and.. well.. you found out 😂. That was a fun roll to watch!
I like his pot spats lol Good roll. I step over all the time for the kneebar. Ill do it from standing as soon as i enter their guard. I did it to a purple belt a little while ago inside of 10 seconds our first time rolling 😆
@@BJiuJitsuTV ua-cam.com/video/jP1LQp9hE5c/v-deo.html Here that's pretty much what i mean. It's nice and works. That and the estima lock have been nasty for my leglock game.
@@BJiuJitsuTV you can go for it in other positions too, even like in your knee slide pass when you go to the other side the first time the oppurtunity could be there if you can get your butt on them. I work the knee slide a lot too its my favorite (knee cut? Knee slice? I dk)
Good roll🙏🏼. When he was hitting that leg lock, his right leg was over your left, is that considered knee reaping or do you have to be right on the knee joint? What gym do you train out of? Thanks for the post
I dont think reaping because the knee joint was still straight. If he had his leg over the knee joint (forcing the knee sideways) that is considered reaping I believe. Someone definitely lmk if I'm wrong.
6:05 - 6:16 That was nice and totally unexpected submission
Dude that weave submission is nasty. Back-step to honey hole is such a neat tool for so many options at the leg. Love the 10p system!

Where is this place located? I trained at a Sas Team location in South Jersey.
This one is in Hatborough PA. I'm pretty sure there are a few different schools under the name tho.
When are we getting some new videos
As soon as I'm back in the gym I'll be posting again. I'm just not sure when that'll be. Hopefully sooner than later

if its honey hole , its basically reaping i think.
