For anyone that dosnt know this was the original concept for fate stay nigth before they decided to change it and this was a ova done for some anniversary, while we don’t have the whole story it dose have a prequel ligth novel and manga called fate prototype lost fragments

Yeah. I read that originally, Saber would be a man, King Arthur, and his Master would be a female version of Shirou.
But the producers chose to makes a gender bender to the last moment, turning Saber in Artoria Pendragon, and her Master in a boy, Shirou Emiya, as the producers though that this will be more attractive to the audience.
PS. Saber King Arthur is skilled for cooking, unlike Saber Artoria, who is a disaster in kitchen 😅
@@josecuestas7246 it’s not really a female shirou they are very different and have different backstory’s and everything like her sister was the previous winner of the first Tokyo grail war, and it wasn’t really last minute prototype is vastly different it was probably changed in early development and I believe Takeuchi was the one that made the recommendation to make sure it would be as popular as possible

3:37 if you like his voice, you might also like to know that this is the fate/prototype version of Cu Chulainn and he is voiced by the same voice actor as Zoro from one piece...also, "saber" saving the mc from Cu Chulainn (lancer) is a canon event. lol

1:14 you're right, that is gilgamesh...except he sounds like gojo instead of panda. 1:30 if she sounds familiar, it's because you've seen her before...she's in fate/strange fake, though her servant there is Richard I, instead of Arthur Pendragon (male)...
This is what Fate could've been, but Nasu was told to make some changes to make it more attractive , like adding erotic scenes and switching the genders of the MC and Saber.
There's enough material to make an entiere anime season i think, prototype has some potential.
So it was never so erotic before this?
@CrypticBoss the original stay night visual novel has actual sex scenes that are removed in the remastered version it was the only way to get your stuff to sell well back in the early 2000s
Yeah Nasu didn’t want to add the sus scenes but financially he had to so it would succeed
And now we the remasters which is closer to Nasu’s OG vision
@@CrypticBoss Yeah it wasn't supposed to be like what we got, Nasu and Takeuchi ended up making the seggs scenes to sell better, and in the end it worked, now Fate is very popular on Japan.
The changes was made to "qualify" the VN to be sold as an eroge. Which is why you barely see any erotic scene in the game. It was like around 30 minutes for 60+ hours of content.
Gender-flip is done to avoid confusion to the buyers as female MC with male love interest will give the impression that the VN was targeted for female audiences when in reality they were aiming for male audiences. Type-Moon just being established so they don't have the fund to advertise the VN to tell who exactly is the target audiences. Early sales are mostly depends on fans of the previous work, Tsukihime to grab a copy of the game. Other than that the only way to promote the game is their own cover art of the package.
Some other changes includes nerfing Heracles which also present in the original draft. Herc is overpowered AF, he can only be defeated after his 12th victory. Since there's only 7 Servants he's pretty much stomps everything till plot demands that he loses.
Other notable changes was the replacement from Perseus in the Prototype to Medusa in Fate/Stay Night as a Rider class Servant. I don't remember what exactly the reason but this is one of the changes.
the only completely different regular servant is rider. Its Perseus instead of Medusa. The other change in servant is beast of 666 for beast class instead of Angra Mainyu - avenger. also no archer emiya
Fun fact, Arthur Pendragon in Fate/Prototype is voiced by the same voice actor as Geto from jjk...

Fate prototype, a Trailer for the original concept of what became fate stay night as the story changed with many characters and plot points that arent in stay night including a known beast which is preset by fate prototype fragments of sky silver(Called the 1st Tokyo holy grail war in that timeline) with fate/Labrinth in between the 12 minute promo and fragments of sky silver which Directly connects it to the main timeline as a character in it Dreams of the main Timeline (Dreams allowing him to see into other worlds)(specifically fate stay night)
Specifically its a completely parallel universe to stay night that were it not for That dream and FGO Featuring servants from prototype (including prototype Lancer who's the same as stay nights lancer in terms of what hero they are)
arthur excalibur in that scene cut gilgamesh in half and deflect the anti world noble phantasm enki which can be seen from space.
Oh BTW now that you are in the fate hole and actually enjoy the characters and all you might want to check the studio dean fate /stay night adaptation (saber route) while the animation is subpar (especially after seeing ufotable) I think it's a good watch (especially for people who have watched the ufotable ones and like the characters so now you can see the original route and another timeline and at least in this one illya survives, and just for that it deserves to be watched).
I wish we had a remake/remaster of it TBH (then we could say to start with it, the reason no one suggest to start with it is that it would probably put people off because of it's lower quality)

Next i recommend you to watch the oath under the snow Movie, its an alternate Shirou story again with many different things but this is really good too.

They reused a lot of what was in prototype, IIRC all the servants (aside from Prototype Gilgamesh) were used elsewhere (mostly FGO).
Some of the masters too, including the main character who also one of the main character of Fate Strange Fake (kinda).
This was basically the first draft of the visual novel
but at some point they realized that having a female MC that gets romanced by a summoned male arthur wouldn't really work with an audience made of males (especially with an eroge) so they swapped the genders so we could play as shirou and be a bloody sandbag throwing ourselves under every other attack.

@@CrypticBoss take Jack the Ripper for example from the Fate/Fake, He is like the concept of it, and there is another Jack Ripper take Shape of a Child base on different thing from another Fiction of the JAck the Ripper, since I don't know much about history Fiction detail, but yeah that how they summon and not all power is the same lv > base on ow they summon, Like Black Grail alter some of the Servants like Saber Alter.
