- Track 3 from the Houses Of The Holy @1973
Houses of the Holy is the fifth studio album by Led Zeppelin. It is the first Led Zeppelin album composed of entirely original material.
Houses of the Holy has been certified 11× Platinum and was ranked number 148 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Has anybody else noticed that every Led Zeppelin song is great?
👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸😘😘🙏🙏
Oh boy, for sure! 🍃✌🏼💥
I hope Im not the only one.
Unlike one particular band I guess you all know.
@Talorc MacAllan yes but Zep fans are not average
Led Zeppelin was not a band . They are music wizards . 🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼

Am from Zim bro a few know this kind of music. Been a rocker for the past 30+years. Had the privilege to watch Def leppard, next is The boss or ac Dc, guns and Roses

Last song my dad listened on his death bed, with a glass of bourbon and a cigarette in his hand. 🌹🌹🌹 Daddy I miss you, and you showed me great music, among so many other things. R.I.P.
And i hope i can do the same. May god rest his soul my friend.

What a hardcore guy, I'm not sure if this is rude but I kinda want to know more about him if you feel like just sharing some
thanks guys, he was superhuman. We both were looking for this song in the end (couldn’t quite recall the song title at first, just the feelings this piece conveyed ). I’m thankful I was able to say goodbye to him! See you around the universe!
Slayer, not at all rude. If you’re really interested then I’m glad to share!
He wrote poetry when he was younger. He served in the military. He traveled a lot from a young age, and was enrolled in a school in London with his brothers during adolescence. That was when he discovered his love for Europe and Bordeaux wine. He read a shit ton pretty much all his life (fantasy 97%). Easily more than 14000 books. Up until Europe he grew up in a small, US scientist community as a child, where teens would usually motorcycle, ski, or get high. My dad almost died in a motorcycle accident cruising through the mountains (he wasn’t high or anything). Luckily his brother found him, albeit hours later, after the accident. He had many lives, my Dad. (I devoured everything he told me about his life and oddly kind of envied it...). He was a dreamer, a cynic with a golden heart, a person who never just talked, but spoke when he had something to say. His humor was so unique, difficult to describe. People just loved being around him. He was a loner he would say, but he loved talking to me, and I was happy to have earned his respect that way. Very dry humor, but what really got him going were toilet jokes ^^ - I could go on and on. It kind of hurts tbh 😢 Even if he wasn’t my dad, he would still have been the most special, righteous, and intelligent people I ever had the privilege to meet!
Sounded so good when i was 18 yrs old..and sounds just as good to me at 65 yrs old today in 2019;
66 here. First heard it at 20 in '73.
Exactly the same.
You got the sound.
There was a STUDY saying what you liked at 14 or 15 is what you liked or enjoyed and listened as an adult.I have to say that was true?

It's July 2023 and here I am at age 71. Blessed to have had Zeppelin integral to my youth....and obviously still rocking on.
I always envy young teens discovering zeppelin they have some great music journey ahead of them
is me right now mate. My dad listened to this stuff when I was growing up but I never really appreciated it. Getting into led zeppelin and other rock now and wow this is amazing 😂
I'll turn 61 in July. Zep fan since 5th grade.
Especially since their music is utter shit.
What about people in their 20’s? I don’t have Bluetooth in my old truck it has a cassette player so a neighbor of mine gave me some cassette tapes and it was Led Zeppelin’s 2,3, and PG. I’m hooked now.
@@jessperez477 Good to hear. There are some good, modern rock bands around, too, but nothing will equal Zeppelin.
Aren’t you glad god gave us zeppelin???
This makes me happy.
Satan gave us Led Zeppelin. Have you researched nothing on Robert Plant and his ties to the occult? Doesn't make it a bad song, but wake up a little. Lol 😊
@@themarriedcouple9924 : that's what I was gonna say. (I grew up on this too)
Nice avatar 🤪😎
For sure.

My dad would always play the acoustic intro of this song on his guitar. He's not dead or anything, he just caused this song to have a strong emotional impact on me.
my dad used to play this in the car after picking me up from gymnastics.
Lol
well thats what its for
My dad don't play guitar but this song causes a strong emotional impact on me too
It's a pretty difficult intro to play. My hat is off to your Dad.
As difficult a decision as it surely is to make, this might be my favourite Zep song.
Mine too!
Same here
I tend to flip back and forth between this and Bron y'ar Stomp!! I know I spelt that wrong!!
@@jaybolton2889 yes! That's an excellent song too, especially if you're a dog owner. Song remains the same and gallows pole are also brilliant.

Right on partner 😊
What would life be without
Led Zeppelin...❤❤❤
My baby dad always used to sing and play this on guitar for me... I love you Jesse...until we meet again .. heart & soul xx
John Bonham ain't dead!!! He just went over the hills, and far away.

My uncle turned me onto Led Zeppelin at age 5 and I’m 54 now still listening to Led Zeppelin and still loving it! My uncle passed away in 2003 and we played Stairway to Heaven and the Rain Song at his funeral. I turned my son onto to Led Zeppelin at 5 and he is 13 now and plays drums just like I did and my uncle sang and played guitar so music is in our blood. Thank-You Led Zeppelin for literally being the soundtrack to our lives!
{{{BIG HUG}}} I was that kid too (4/47 ;) Both of my folks passed and I've raised my kids on Zep to keep their memory alive. I am proud to say my daughter knows all the words to Stairway by heart and my younger son can burp them in unison ~ I know my parents are proud ❤️hehe
Right on
When the electrics kick in at 1:27, it always gives me goosebumps.
Best part
the guitar part at 2:47 is insane
same, it makes me feel like I should be a teenager in the 70s
Nailed that shit!
Me too 👽 Mexican style 🍻🎶👽😜🔥 🎸
One the best songs ever made . Rolling Stones can’t get no satisfaction isn’t even close to this
This song is my daughter's!! Her name was Page, of course. She always smiled when she heard this song!!! She passed away a long time ago but when I hear this song I know she is thinking about about me wherever she is!!
No one should lose a child... sorry to hear that
Tara Aldrich I understand! My son is Zeppelin.
Tara Aldrich so sorry for your loss. You made a tear come out of my left eye and i never even met her. I hope you are strong enough to move on with life
You just broke my heart 💔 I'm sorry
Deepest sympathies for your loss. She's smiling down on everyone close to her from the top of that Stairway. God Bless you.
The last 45 seconds gives me intense goosebumps EVERYTIME.
For sure!, & it's complete blasphemy when you hear a DJ decide to cut off that killer outro!- kinda like hearing the end of Heartbreaker NOT immediately followed up by Live-in Love-in (She's just a Woman)
The English no there music 👍

The greatest rock n roll band to ever exist
All hail the zeppelin !!!!
Absolutely, nobody else can touch their sound and playing ability. Their knowledge of their instruments is remarkable.
I’m a classical pianist. My favorite composers are Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Chopin. These guys are as miraculous as any composer in history.
That’s awesome to hear Gregory! I’m sure there’s heaps of Zep nerds like me that love hearing accomplished musicians talk about Zeppelin. You should start a channel educating people on the brilliance of their songwriting and composing from a classical pianists perspective 😁
JPJ FTW!
Amen. Jimmy Page is right there with Mozart.
Im a professional classical musician, i adore bach.... But zeppelin are the best of the popular music age... Easily.. Brian wilson Imho comes close, but nothing comes close to whacking on some zeppelin in the car
This is so awesome!
One of your favorites! Rest in paradise, Dad.

My Dad was 04/58-08/20 It's thanks to his record library I know about sounds like this.
It was 1976 for me when I was introduced to LED ZEPPELIN me being youngest and a twin. I have 3 older brothers and 1 sister so it helped being born in 1965 loving this music. I've been listening to them for 48+ years and it never gets old or boring. I'm 59 years old a father of 1 daughter and 3 sons. Sadly I lost my daughter to a heroin overdose she passed away from it on 8)12/2015 At the young age of 24 years old she was DADDY'S LIL GIRL my first born. My 3 sons do like the some of the 70's era and 80's so I'm glad I could infuse into them at a young age. LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL,LED ZEPPELIN will always be the best ROCK BAND Of all time. If you like music then you'll understand this phrase "LOVE MUSIC LOVE LIFE" Thank you for letting me share my story with you all.
It's been said, but I will say it again... The greatest rock band of all time.
I agree.
Russell understatement when the did the kennedy centers it gave me chills....1971 Family vacation to family members in Brooklyn dad bought zeppelin tape been hooked at 7 years old
Completely agree. I am 23 and I listen to CCR all the way to Buffalo springfield and to pink floyd to Alice in chains and def leppard and I agree with you.
Never stop speaking truth to power. Hammer of the Gods
close but the rolling stones are STILL doing it!!

I started listening to Led Zeppelin when I was 12. I was born in 1986. I have been listening to these master musicians for 25 years. They are my favorite band. The first song I heard was Ramble On.
It was 1973, I was 13, My parents rented a place on the beach for a week. We brought a portable record player and a few choice albums, Houses of the Holy being one of them. My sister is a musician/guitar player/singer. We met a guy playing guitar on the beach, exchanged pleasantries. He played a few Zeppelin songs, Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, etc. My sister then said, “play Over the Hills and Far Away,” and he made a weird face. He got up and seemed insulted, started to walk away until she said, “Wait.”. Turns out he didn’t know the song yet, the album had just come out. He thought we were asking him to leave. Fun days.
I was the same age in '72. Thank you for sharing your memory.
Funny
This album came out in in the Spring of 1973.
ahall177 exactly!
KPJS Nita that's good stuff lol
To all the members of led Zeppelin thank you so much You are the reason me and my dad are so close
Jimmy's acoustic skills are superb!
It was 1983 i was introduced to Led Zeppelin and this song. Lucky me, i did❤❤❤❤
My daughter is 12. Her favorite band is Led Zeppelin. You have to indoctrinate them early :D
I did the same, now she’s 28 still hooked..
I agree, 👍
I played Zeppelin for my boys in the cradle...cds on low volume as they slept. They’re 19 and 16 now...full on Zep heads.
My dad did the same 😂 you can guess which band is my favorite
It's not indoctrination, its culturising
I want to thank my dad, born in 57, for raising me on such great music. It stays with me forever. You’re the best dad!
That guitar intro is just gorgeous! And in my opinion, this is some of Bonham’s finest work - Those hats! My God, those hats! 🤩🥁🤩
Might be the greatest song ever the intro is magic
If you like this intro you should try to listen to Wet sand by RHCP. They are exactly the same ;)
It was my favorite song by them when I was younger.
the outro is magic too

(lyrics)
Hey lady, you got the love I need
Maybe more than enough
Oh darling, darling, darling
Walk a while with me
Ohh, you've got so much, so much, so much
Many have I loved, and many times been bitten
Many times I've gazed along the open road
Many times I've lied, and many times I've listened
Many times I've wondered how much there is to know
Many dreams come true, and some have silver linings
I live for my dream, and a pocket full of gold
Mellow is the man who knows what he's been missing
Many, many men can't see the open road
Many is a word that only leaves you guessing
Guessing 'bout a thing you really ought to know, oh, oh, oh, oh
Really ought to know (oh, oh, oh)
I really ought to know
Oh
You know I should, you know I should, you know I should, you know I should
Thank you Thank you!

I teach my grandkids all of the wonderful music from our past. Most new music sucks
My dad, born in ‘49, loved Zeppelin. It was the first band he turned me onto as a preteen. I asked for an electric guitar, and he made me promise to learn Stairway all the way through if he bought it for me. We both made good on our deal.
It wasn’t until I was turning 18 and the US had just invaded Iraq (March 10, 2003), and he told me that he was adamant I don’t join the armed service. Any other public service, he said, not the military, not now.
He was in Vietnam as a GI in the jungle from ‘67-69. He saw combat as an M60 gunner. He earned two Purple Hearts during his combat tour. When he got out, he looked for a more peaceful life in the US and found himself wandering Alaska and Hawaii then eventually California. Zeppelin was his soundtrack for his attempt to join a normal life after what he saw and did.
Ten years ago he lost his final battle to chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a cancer recognized by the VA and DOD as being caused by exposure to agent orange herbicide in the jungles and waters of Vietnam. It was his third injury for which he was never recognized. I miss him dearly everyday. Zeppelin, among others, are a beautiful reminder to me that the human spirit is one resilient m-f’er.
Miss you, Pop.
My beautiful big brother went peacefully in his sleep listening to this song...
I cant stop listening.
Your big brother knows great music.god bless him. I hope when I go I can do the same
He was truly blessed.
My Big brother is who got me into Led zeppelin. 🙂 God rest your bro.
God bless him
I really don't think you heal, but only become functional again.
I have 5 brothers and a sister and we haven't gotten along in years.
I get along great with one. The others let their hearts get old! My Dad had one sister, my beloved Auntie Anna Marie. She died young, but I remember her even though I was young. She demanded all of us kids to comunicate no matter how angry we were. She said, "It is too easy to be mean." Also, she said imperfections should not be judged only helped "Cross the way..." This song is a great song for this generation to embrace?
God bless you and your love for your brother!!!!!
Health in living is not seen sometimes. My Dad's Birthday is tommorow, and he has been gone for 8 birthdays now. Me and Mike( the youngest 2) will celebrate. We were raised to be freinds and brothers through good and bad. Just a little time and effort keeps a relationship. So easy, but hardly ever done.
The Mighty sound of the Zeppelin will never...ever...be equaled, much less surpassed
bruh what is that profile pic
I spent sooo much time learning this song. Sure wish UA-cam was around back in the 70s and 80s.
I adore this eternity over this guitar work ... as the poem.
1000 years will pass and people will still say the same that led zeppelin made their life sweeter with their tunes and the memories they create. This is a band for all generations
This is zeppelin best song. Excellent musical and lyrical composition. So many cool things about this timeless classic

My cousins favorite Led Zeppelin song. He just passed a couple days ago. Love you Chris, you ment the world to me. ❤
I remember being in high school, my last day or one of my last days of high school. I walk past a guy in a Camaro and he’s bumping this song. I stop and just enjoy the song and tell him “cool song, mind if I listen?”. He’s like “not at all man.” I bobbed my head and he bobbed his head and we enjoyed an epic song together and I didn’t even know who he was. Every time I hear this song, I think of my life as a young man and that day. Sharing in the humanity of a fond moment.
I can't express how much I love this song
I feel you, bro :')
Simply saying you have trouble expressing your fondness says it all. One of my favorites, too!

Yea real big, lol.

I remember this album in my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Kenny's collection. I was 10 yrs old. I fell in love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕
Quintessence of the band's creativity
This song kicks so much ass. Definitely one of my favorite Zeppelin songs.
I was about 13 14 years old in Pa working at my grandfathers house with my dad and his friend when this song was playing over the radio and the last 40 seconds of the song put me in this trance where I thought to myself this is where I am and this is how I feel at this point in time. And it stuck with me ever since. I can still flash back to that point in my life and remember those 30 or so seconds. Wasn’t a great time but it wasn’t bad either. But it was definitely an easier time
Driving around town at night with my older brother in his truck. Thanks brother!
We all agree❤That's wonderful..
Nothing will ever beat this. It's the best song ever made, by the best band that ever existed.
Led Zeppelin keeps me sane when the levee breaks
Same. Whenever I feel stressed or I am pissed off about something, Zeppelin always helps me out of it.
And its breaking right now.
