When they say black metal don´t need bass, I play them this album. B. war´s playing is sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I think an underestimated aspect of this album is the bass. It's fucking BRUTAL
It's Like Geddy Lee playing Black metal hah
Yes!!!!!!!!!!! Very overlooked
My favorite Marduk album, for me this is their masterpiece. 🧛🏻♂️🦇🌑
Absolutely agree!
I totaly agree..
Mine to... there's no debating it... it's their best...
I literally agreed.
They have several. Marduk has a strong discography, unlike someone like Immortal

One of their best albums!
Marduk rules!!!
old Marduk rules!!!
Marduk to this very day still "rules" very worthy of their 50 legeons. Through all the riots, lawsuits, boycotting, etc. They have pulled through it all very strong in my view of it all. And like live bands they remain strong and very relavant to the times. Still seeing a big future for them. Their next I think 14 - 15 release I expect to be one of their best, with them revisiting their earlier recipe. Cant wait!
OLD SCHOOL BLACK METAL !!!
1994-1995!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of my favorite albums ever!!!
The vocals drums and the whole atmosphere of this album is so special!! They did their true ultimate magic on this album and my all time fav album cover!
El mejor álbum de Marduk, obra maestra.
Bwar's Bass is so badass!!!!
Man I really miss Fred on drums... loved his style! Crashes and fills for days! Lucky enough to see him play back in the day. One footin all those blasts when everyone was split timing them! Total beast on the kit!
Ah hell yes that rebound blast on bass drum was top notch them days. Much more organic sounding, with both legs you can sound so machine like. I could go all day haha At any rate Agreed Fred was a battlefiend on drums for sure. Cheers and hail on Legeoneer
is that the same Fredrick andersson from Amon Amarth.
@@nelssoares8955 haha dude for the longest time I thought it was the same guy and always wondered why you'd leave Marduk for Amon Amarth other than money... Then I realized they had different tattoos and weren't the same guy at all haha. Apparently that's like the John Smith of Swedish names... there's even an NHL goalie with the same name.
Marduk is my favorite black metal band. My favorite album changes though as I've been into World Funeral lately but this one is great too.
Bought this CD when it was released. One of the hardest albums on earth.
Such a timeless classic.
along with "The secrets of the black arts", my two favorites of swedish black metal
The pinnacle of Marduk's success as a band! Their trademark album!!! One of the top black metal albums of ALL TIME!!!
Unfortunately, every next Marduk album is devoid of this Blackness and is just generic norsecore….
@@HerrBeherit 100% agree with your sentiment.....They traded off their unique sound & melodicism, for discordant aggression.... Seems that when the lead singer & former drummer, on both Dark Endless & Those of the Unlight.... Joakim Af Graf....Left the band, they lost a very creative mind & overall edge to their music....(IMHO)......(Frederick Andersson took over drums on this album)....I've met him before at a show in Portland, OR....The whole band actually....Introduced them to a infamous strip club called Union Jacks ......Where we proceeded to get get piss drunk before the show......My buddy's band (Thy Infernal) opened for them....It was an awesome show...!!!
@@jameslarson9942, yeah I can totally relate to you, mate. Even though I never really faced the band live (I was 16 when they released "Opus...", and living in Poland, which is always a draw back), I can tell that the spirit went back to the Endless Void after releasing Opus Nocturne. Up to that point there was real magic in whatever they spat forth… apologize for all the bad English (blame the whiskey…, haha!)
@@HerrBeherit lol ! No worries man..... Whiskey up!
Materialized in stone's rehearsal version sounds even better than the normal one
My favourite Marduk album
Hail !!!
24 years of this classic black metal, December 1, 2020.

@@Moja421 you mean 28 years
Blackmetal de la vieja escuela...lo mejor
A great album when looking for a classic black metal to enjoy.
legendary black metalist, Marduk's defining album \m/
This is....BEYOND THE SHADOW OF ANY DOUBT.....The BEST Marduk album of ALL TIME!!! They shredded major ass with B War, Morgan, Andersson & Av Graf as the line up....Things came easy to them....Everything after this album seems forced & severely lacks the magically charged melodicism that we find in 'Those of the Unlight' (KVLT)...& their crown jewel 'OPUS NOCTURNE'...1994 was an amazing year for Metal!!!
Can't agree more… but Joakim's drums on Those… were much better than this hackery...
Who did vocals on this ?
@@alexdelarge5055 Av Graf
Man, I am really on a streak of discovering masterpiece after masterpiece this year. I love the swedish BM sound with this touch of melody.
@Robert Demon I "discovered" Black Metal through them earlier this year and have been on a streak of insane music ever since. Randomly clicked on Light's Bane in my recs and since I've been a fan of Melo Death and Death Metal in general since I was 12 it instantly clicked. Although I've been a Metalhead for most of my life, I only listened to very little BM so far because it never "clicked" until now. Boy did I know what I was missing! I already checked out the Marduk adjacent bands (Funeral Mist and Triumphator) too and this is quite literally what I want if I think of Black Metal.
@Robert Demon Both great if you ask me, but I haven't listened to the Somberlain as much because I've been all over Light's Bane haha. Black Horizons is without a doubt my favorite soing by them though.
you should listen to welcome my last chapter by vinterland. fantastic swedish black metal.
Integrity rules too!!
@@WButterTBWButter hah! would u look at that. I never heard of Triumphator before I read your comment ..and I count myself as a major Marduk / F.Mist fan. well I'll be damned! xD thanks yo^^
First time hearing this album and it's already a top 10 for me
That awkward moment when rehearsals sound more menacing than album versions.
dissection & marduk are best black metal bands of all time!!!! both deserve to be in r&r hall of fame someday!
Who cares about the r&r hall of fame.
@@tt1147 gotta admit it'd be kind of hilarious if the R&RHoF started inducting black metal bands but picked something like Cradle of Filth over say Marduk or Darkthrone
A truly epic album. Textbook black metal, the best there is!
Always interested in listening to what many fans considered Marduk's magnum opus. Glad I get the chance to hear it now. It sounds amazing!
The people I know consider Panzer Division to be their best and most consistent album. I did too for years as that was the album that got me really turned on to just how awesome Marduk is. However these days I would say I this album is better than PD.
My favorite album by Marduk... brutal black metal at it's best... "Autumnal Reaper" is a killer track....
A BM masterpiece that opens with one of the best songs in BM history.
I have always said the same thing!
These rehearsal tracks are wicked! Love it
This is definitely one of my favorite by Marduk. I've had a copy of this ever since I can remember, and it's worn out like crazy.
\m/ Absolute masterpiece \m/
Fredrik Andersson , Af grafv , B.war and Morgan great times.😊😊
If this ever gets a legit re-release, hopefully they'll dedicate it to the memory of Tony Särkkä...
Hey guys, have anyone already stated it's so underrated?🙂
Ooohhh, ohh, Opus Nocturne!! Hail Marduk and BMP!! 🤘🏾🤘🏾I
Their second best after Those of the Unlight. And without a shadow of a doubt with Marduk's best vocalist ever!
I'd put Dark Endless first, then this one and Those of the Unlight heheh, all jewels
the appereance of spirits of darkness/Sulphur souls probably their best ever
Goddamn! That opening scream from the rehearsel of Sulphur Souls send shivers down my spine
Ohne scheiß ich feiere das voll gehe da voll ab richtig geil marduk ist eine black metal Legende
Blood of black metal straight from the jugular vein!
Vocals unmatched. Bwar bass on full effect. Flawless
This makes me want to sing again 🖤
