I'm so happy to see this style of music hasn't died. While it isn't in its prime anymore, it should never die; it is so very expressive.
Indeed! We are honored to help keep the tradition alive!
I used to teach music with the violin players father (of Ukrainian decent) and it is such a joy to see his son Jason playing like this. He looks so much like his dad also, a fine fiddler in his own right, and it makes me think back to when Gypsy Jazz began to infiltrate my musical tastes way back when (mid '70s). It is truly wonderful to see and listen to as I reminisce.
He’s damn good.
Loto polonia 20 80
I saw him perform near Atlanta and thought it wonderful, at least 5 years ago. There was family there that I assumed was his. I'm sure they were proud. Didn't realize he was second generation violinist. And I have his CD "Sleepless" which also has Peter Anick on guitar (brother?).
@@lou-nc4rc His dad's name is Peter. I don't know of any brother's, but the dad has had gray hair for a while now.
wtf this guitar boi is insane
I know it was nuts
that picking technique its like a dream... not even one sweep, he alternate every single note perfect!!
@@blekmetal8140 Yes but what's strange is that his vibrato sounds not very controlled.
@@MarceloKowalewski if you can play like that why you are here, i'm playing guitar for nine years and he is very good and vibrato sounds perfect because it includes his style
@@ItamiPlaysGuitar same goes for you, don't get so cocky
My guitar doesn't do that
The solution must be to buy another guitar. That will surely fix it.
You both are suck haha
@@Gari9090 They don't suck as bad as your grammar.
I read this comment on most guitar vid I saw. Either you're starting a trend or you have no originality.
You should buy a new one your guitar is probably broken
As a classically-trained violinist, I can particularly appreciate this clearly classically-trained player who is definitely not a square like most. I can do this too, but not as well as you do it. I'm like the guy who said he used to be good, then had to get a job and now can hardly play. Maybe I'll make time to practice more soon. I need to do it. Music is my life.
Go for it my dude
1:40 that run is seriously the slickest, best lick I have ever heard. Any genre any performance, this bit crushes them all. That one line single handily impregnated me, broke my heart and kicked my ass at the same time in the best possible way.
I had to replay it at least 10 times when I first heard that part. Came back a year later and saw this comment. Glad to see other people appreciate that run too
Yeah same at 2:38, the sheer emotion in gypsy jazz invokes something in me like none other. And this quartet does it more than justice, too bad this recording isn’t on spotify…
His playing sounds like he is singing actual words. The expression in his playing is very graspable and definite.
Love how the bass guy goes from using his fingers to whipping out a bow to do it like a violin. I love music!
I was a guitar player and a pretty good one, but wen a i growup need to work as a waiter, no time to practice or study anymore, i tink i can barely play now. See guys like this ones making beautyful music make me cry... Awesome pals, well play
Thanks! =)
A decent guitar player should be able to make about the same as a waiter. Why don't you try?
The violinist has the Grappelli sound and inflection, to perfection
You are a great man,sir!
Thanks! I am a big fan of Grappelli!
Could you translate that for non-music earred, term-ignorant people please?
@@thiscommentor2858 he sounds like Stephane grapelli lol
@@thiscommentor2858 grappelli was a violinist, the violinist here has his sound
So good violinist. Blessings from 82 year old man in India.
is no one going to talk about how insane the bass player is.
this band gives me goosebumps in every piece..can't believe the amount of talent that lies upon the stage
I’ve never seen someone play the upright bass left handed. This group is fantastic!
Any competent musician can read and follow music, but it is when musicians like these put their hearts and souls in their performances that those performances are exceptional and move listeners' hearts...just as these guys' music does. Bravo!
Love how he does a look at everyone to cue the ending, takes so much practice together to really make it work well
You can clearly hear their classical training, but the way they improvise and jazz up the classical is amazing and beautiful and very, very well done.
That strum at 3:37 gave me a heart attack the first time. Funnily enough, it gives me life now that I can hear it coming!
tengo 15 años y no puedo creer q jóvenes como yo perdamos el amor al arte . calidad música refresca el alma sin duda alguna la maravilla del jazz
The violin on this song gave me goosebumps the whole way through. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PLAYING😍
The perfect sad-driking song :D

Nah i be just chilling. No snacks, vices, distractions. Just music.
Also if I listen to this while studying my mind will literally wander off lol
One of the sweetest bass solo i've heard in a while !
I"m pretty amazed by this performance
Wow im,speechless except for the fact that dude totally steals the show at the end. That was amazing. For those who were there live, that must've been awesome. This is my first time watching this video.
One of the closest covers I've heard to noir jazz.
I will save the shit out of all these Gypsy Jazz, none of you could escape, and have all my likes
Stunning performance!! Wow.
Cheers!
the way the frames overlap in the Pin makes it look like the guitar has a sick inlay
I know, right? Looked like a PRS Dragon there for a while
my god everything sound so great the guitarist and the violin play a great amount of scales at pretty fast pace and clean, since the beggining I felt like my skin crawled, this genre is so beautiful, im currently playing a genre called "sierreño" that is mostly played over here at mexico but boy am I interested in learning all of these scales and the style more than nothing, you guys got my respects, Bravo!

Heureuse d'avoir découvert ces musiciens grâce à mon Jean-Louis ,mon fils, lui-même guitariste .... C'est un enchantement dans ce monde de morosité....
tout simplement sublime
This is beautiful, it loosely reminds me of ‘Moon over Bourbon Street’ by Sting. So pretty.
That's absolutely stunning - Congrats !
Sooooooo Beautiful!!!!
Very nice. They all play off of each other so well. And hey! Any group with Vinnie Raniolo had got to be good!
In the beggining i thought this song was part of the Bioshock soundtrack.Very well played that violin
Terrific stuff - what a great band. Just love it.
Fantastic !!! Bravo...

Vorrei sapere come si fa a mettere un commento negativo quando sentiamo questa musica. I gusti sono gusti ma sempre fino ad un certo punto. Straordinari. Bravissimi. Almeno tenete in vita la musica

Heaven for the ears :)
Son maravillosos
What a cynical sound... It melts me slowly and smoothly.
Perfect!!
Hermoso.
Amazing
Suena hermoso.
bravo!
Wow, makes me wanna grab a bottle of whiskey and just drink the night off. 🍷🌃💕
Honestly, sounds more like Autumn Leaves than Clair De Lune. Still great though!
Ujjwal Mohindra this isnt debussy's clair de lune, this is joseph kosma's, (autumn leaves' writer) and its a totally different song
aah, that's why it sounded so much like Autumn Leaves'! What's the name of this one then?
Ujjwal Mohindra Clair De Lune - Joseph Kosma, for some reason he just composed it and django reinhardt was the first one to record it, so it became a gypsy jazz standard, also i couldnt find a modern jazz version (its very uncommon for standards to no have it), so its just gypsy Clair de lune
YES
absolutley agree
music for the soul, from the soul....
So deep musicality
So tasteful , you just gained a new subscriber !
Thanks!!
Beautiful! The notes between 0:43 and 0:50 look a lot like "Preciso me Encontrar", by Cartola
Their wonderful performance has a scent of Debussy’s aesthetics
Sus comment
This reminds me so much "Over The Garden Wall"
great band!
Thanks!
Thanks!
That's got to be top 5 music performance I've seen/heard in 10+ years. Bravo. Praise and hope and thanks to the GOD of all creation, the Holy Spirit, Jesus of Nazareth.
