  • In 1885, an English cyclist Thomas Stevens passed through present-day eastern Croatia (the region of Slavonia), on a section of his round-the-world trip by bike. Thomas and his traveling companion, a Hungarian cyclist Svetozar Igali, were also the first ones to introduce bicycles in this region.
