- Some close-up takeoffs and landings from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, one of the most dangerous airports in the world. A new park and viewing area as been completed at the end of the runway and it's a great place for planespotters and aviation fans.
Included are shots of AA A319s and United and Copa B737s, plus Avianca ATR 72-600s.

Ese aereopuerto esta super fue mi primera vez en Honduras y fui en ese vuelo de AA961 de Miami agosto 7 2018 ese risco al final de la pista da miedo es muy hermoso honduras un largo viaje ese dia desde Puerto Rico a Miami a Tegucigalpa y La Ceiba Honduras mi destino final muy bellas sus playas especialmente Roatan muy bello su pais Honduras

This is such an interesting spot to watch the planes, it's the first time I see a planespotting video (and believe me I've watched an awful lot of them from many different parts of the world) in which you can actually see how fast they really go. Great video of my Toncontín!

For decades SAHSA, TAN and TACA were the only airlines flying large aircraft to Toncontin (B727, BAC-111, Vickers Viscount, Electra L-188, DC-6), when the landing was really was much more difficult because of the high terrain and obstacles on very short final right next to the approach end to runway 02. Because of this other airlines would not fly to Tegucigalpa. Eventually during the late 90's I believe the runway was extended and the high ground close to the runway leveled-off or flattened. After that the landings were a lot easier for the pilots. The Honduran pilots who flew for SAHSA and TAN airlines during that time were the best and the real experts.
Por decadas solo SAHSA, TAN y TACA eran las unicas lineas aereas que volaban aviones grandes a Tontontin (B727, BAC-111, Vickers Viscount, Electra L-188, DC-6) cuando en realidad era mucho mas dificil el atterizaje por el terreno alto en final corto a la pista 02. Por eso otras lineas aereas no volaban a Tegucigalpa. Eventualmente creo que en los 90's la pista fue extendida y el terreno alto cercano a la pista fue 'aplanado'. Despues de esto los atterizajes se hicieron mas facil para los pilotos. Los pilotos de Honduras que volaron con SAHSA y TAN durante esa epoca eran los mejores y verdaderos expertos.

Viví 20 años cerca del aeropuerto y sonido nunca fue problema, ya que el movimiento es durante el día y no la noche. Tegucigalpa es una hermosa ciudad y ver los aviones aterrizar de cerca una experiencia única. Otra cosa 0 peligro.
