  • Break in your new subwoofer in no time at all. Using this technique you can not only break in the driver you will find the sweet spot at witch your sub plays at (frequency) as well as helping find proper room placement.

I hooked up my sub woofer in the manner you suggested to the "B" speaker outputs on my stereo to the high gain inputs on the powered sub woofer and have really been enjoying it. Not owning a cell phone this break-in option isn't really available to me although I am signed up to start getting my internet from the electric company here in the next few weeks and when that happens I'll get rid of my land line and get a cell phone. Up until now the old copper phone lines here have just been the fastest internet speed option with up to 12 mb/ps speed in our rural area and so have just kept the land line phone as all one bundle for about $96.00 a month. The electric company (Jackson County REMC) has been running fiber optic lines for the last two years and have finally begun running them in our area and we had our pre-drop for it about 6 weeks ago and in 6 more weeks should be up and running with a minimum speed of 100mb/ps for roughly the same price as internet through the phone company. Having never had more than 6mb/ps and usually closer to 1mb/ps this should be an eye opening experience. I did once own a cell phone but the last one I had was a Nokia 5165 back in about 2001 so I imagine I'm in for quite a learning curve which I am not looking forward to, lol.

I am glad you are enjoying the subwoofer. I just moved from a rual area and we had DSL with a max speed of 24MBS according to speedtest.net. It was fine for us but took longer to upload video. Now we live in SLC Ut and we have fiber at a "rated" 1000MBS with a 2.4 and 5 G router. On the 2.4 side we get about the same performance as our old DSL. On 5G I can upload a video in about 20 seconds. YIKES thats fast. I have the transmitter in our basement tucked back in a corner with the power for 5G turned all the way down, so to use it you have to be right over it. 2.4 is at 50% power and that is out main TX.
      Take care my friend.... Mike

My M&K MX-90 never had any issues like this, my neighbors can verify this.

How do I do this if my grill can't come off and I don't see the woofer movement?

I would play it safe by using a very low volume and maybe at a slightly higher frequency so you can hear it. But keep the volume low.
IMHO if your worried about ruining your new speaker then just play music and enjoy. The speaker will loosen up on its own after a while, some speakers take longer and some you cant tell the difference.

New subwoofer. For 2 weeks. First song loud and obnoxious. Next 2 songs turn the sub completely off. Next song loud and obnoxious next 2 songs completely off. If you smell something burning or getting hot turn sub completely off. If you follow this you’re sub will stretch and be at the level you’re achieving
