Excellent! I'm between the etrex32 and 65s... Etrex 32: battery life, small size, cheaper, and better if I'd like to use it in the bike. The 65s is much more faster to draw mapps and move around the screen?
so can someone tell me if the default installed map on the 22x is worldwide ? I'm from USA but going to Colombia and Peru soon will the 22x have colombia and peru preinstalled? thx
Don't trust on those maps. The world wide map is just a bunch of capital cities, main routes and no much more. I suggest to get the map from open street map converted to Garmin format, and use it as much as you can BEFORE the trip. I lived in Argentina until my 30's and for Latin America the best map you can get is "Proyecto mapear" they started to draw maps for Garmin since the early days of GPS for the region. You can get the map to use it directly in the GPS or with Garmin mapsource/Basecamp. I suggest to research if you can find something similar to Proyecto mapear but for Colombia and Peru in forums of 4x4, trekking etc. Good luck. By the way, i have the 32x and the battery duration with Ikea AA rechargeable 2400mha is insane. The only flaw with this kind of GPS is the slow capacity to redraw the maps when moving around and searching.
Excellent, was looking for an InReach and GPSMAP66 comparison. Now if only Garmin would incorporate the InReach messaging/rescue features in the 66st, I'd buy one.
@@AvoidingChores, thanks for that. Price tag for the 66i on Garmin's website is U$599. I'd wait before buying the first gen because Garmin's slow or reluctant to fix things.

It’s a bit faster in the 66 but for bike and reasons you list; the 32 is a good buy
is there preloaded maps with trails on the garmin Etrex22?

they did with the GPSMAP 66i version a few months ago. However, I find the price tag very high for that version.

Can I use a pre-loaded map sd card between different Garmin devices?
Yes you can
I recognize those roads fellow Maritimer! lol Great vid!
If they come pre loaded with maps what maps would u have 2 download?
You will find that some of the maps, especially the ones based on OSM will have periodic updates that you can download.
@@AvoidingChores is the whole country already loaded?
Yup, the ones in the video all came with North America maps pre-loaded
@@AvoidingChores thanks for the info brother.
@@AvoidingChores one more question... mine came with a chip, should i keep it in there the whole time?
