Your pages all look gorgeous and I cannot wait to see the finished results. I particularly LOVE the colours you've used on the naowflake page in God Jul. Thank you so much for sharing your progress with us K. I am wishing you, your hubby and family a very Happy New Year and I hope 2025 is full of love, happiness and joy xxx❤❤😊
Thank you so much Kate, still unwell since Christmas Eve, I cannot wait to feel better soon. Thanks for your kind words and I hope you and your family have the best 2025. Take care hun xx
@ColouringwithK aww no I am so sorry you're still poorly. I hope you feel better really soon sweetheart. Try to rest and take care of yourself. Lots of love xxx❤️❤️
Hi, I love seeing how you tackle pages. That God Jul page has such nice, soft colours and the snowflakes look great. Your Lotte Forde page gave me ideas for those more detailed pages. I usually colour the big spaces first too, but I often struggle with picking colours for all the little details. I saw you pick a colour and then go over the whole page colouring a bit here and there, I think that will work better for me too. Thanks for the inspiration ❤
Gorgeous pages I love your video’s and the fact you use so many different mediums I need to start that ! Happy New Year to you and your family with love from Melbourne 🇦🇺❤️
The Lotte Forde page is adorable. It was great to see how you use so many different supplies which gives us some ideas of how to incorporate them. Candice from Happy Catastrophy uses the Distress Ink watercolor pencils by going directly to the tip, and it provides a deeper color. I think the more muted version works better with your page. The colors and techniques you used on the snowflake ❄️ page are beautiful. Hope you are enjoying your holiday.
Love the snowflake page❤️do you prefer ink oxide over the distress ink pads? I never thought to use a stencil and baby wipe to remove the ink, I’ve tried to emboss snowflakes and ink over which worked ok ( I didn’t use enough embossing ink). Also what a great idea with the the distress watercolor pencils! You never disappoint, I usually learn from your videos. Thank you so much
Thank you so much Carol, the oxide inks blend better, seem wetter so give you a longer time to blend them in so I prefer those! I would love to try embossing out, I used to do that with art journaling but not tried in colouring books
I've been using my alcohol markers a lot lately too. They are just so fast, easy, and vibrant. I feel like the various page preparation options (satin glazing liquid, watercolor ground, etc) just make the watercolor lay weird, streaky and clumpy. I've been using my alcohol blender to activate watercolor media instead and have fully embraced that, so much so I had to invest in blender refill liquid. I tried straight alcohol, but it's inferior. I want to experiment with adding a bit of glycerine to it. It takes a bit more time to lay down as you need to be more conscious about transitions and smooth coverage with the pencils, but it's yet to bleed, warp, or pill on any paper.. as long as you only activate it once. It's the best thing I discovered in the past year. I haven't touched my waterbrush in months. I purchased the Staedtler fineliners a long time ago and haven't used them once.. I really do need to remember to pull them out. I have them in a binder, all ready to go, but for some reason just never think to use them. I tried the new acrylic sharpie brush pen in white this past weekend. The white is unfortunately not as opaque as I would have liked.. I was trying to white out black lines on snow with it.. but it does lay beautifully on the paper even with multiple layers, much more subtle than posca, and didn't bother the paper at all (I was on Amazon paper so very thin). May work very well as a subtle highlight such as for light rays or just places you want a bit of light without that stark line. I also tried a limited selection of both the Pitt artist brush pens and the Staedtler pigment brush pens, which have been really popular on YT lately. Wasn't a fan. They are very vibrant.. but they streaked horribly and I found them very hard to control. Like the tip is so small and stiff the streaking is much more obvious especially with the darker colors, and when I say darker it was like anything more than pastel, the truly dark colors were just horrible. Like trying to color large areas with a fineliner. Thankfully I used it on a squirrel and was conscious of stroke direction so I managed to save the page.. not great, but decent after a generous application of opaque pencil, you can still see the streaks but if you don't look too close they look like fur. That was on Amazon paper, so I pulled out Small Victories and tried there thinking I just needed thicker paper, but it was just as bad. I pulled out my Tombows to compare and it was like a breath of fresh air laying them down on the same paper. A great example of why it's good to only get a few of something at first, saved me a ton of money because the pigment pens are NOT cheap.
Thanks so much for all the info, I really value your input, you are so knowledgable! I don’t like the strange effects of satin glazing liquid, I’d just prefer to use watercolour paper if I can but I think if I can find a better way to lay it down maybe it will improve. I think I will use the alcohol blender more like you say. Thanks so much again, hope you have a lovely 2025 and thanks for everything you do, it is appreciated x
I love these snippets. Hubby came in so I asked if he were going to put headphones on or would he prefer me to put headphones on. He said he rather liked your soothing voice so he listened to you talk while doing a puzzle. Now you’ve stopped at the end of the video he’s listening to something else through his headphones. I thought it was funny. He says he can hear a mild Newcastle accent in a North Yorkshire accent. Is he right? Is there a Newcastle connection? (He is Lancashire with a dad from Newcastle.)
I love your snowflake stencil, I would love to get one. Can you tell me where you got it? I love all your pictures. I’ve been watching you for years. I have changed my You Tube name many times, due to phone problems, new phones and forgetting names n passwords! Yeah, big mess! Ha! 😊😊
I thought those sort of issues only happen to me! Honestly, I have a lot of technical issues and hurdles to overcome too! I got the snowflakes stencil from Amazon UK
It just says Neenah card stick in it and 199gsm, got it from Amazon UK. It is for printers and cost me just under £30 which for the amount you get is worth it in my opinion
I love how the boca snowflake background looks in God Jul! You're very creative! Also, there's a book with a bear on the cover in your thumbnail picture for this video, I didn't see the book in this video though, but I was wondering what that book is called? I have been searching for it everywhere for months now and I can't find it!
Hi, that is the 1st book K colours in. I searched for "fantasy season, Japanese colouring book" and it came up on Google. There are a few reviews of the book on utube, but they are from 7 to 8 years ago. The book may be out of print ❤❤
@joanne1dreams Also, thank you for your help! And thank you for taking the time to search for Fantasy Season to try to help me find it! I wish I had started coloring sooner so I could have gotten these books!
Thank you. I got the Fantasy season colouring book from Amazon Japan and just tried to look for it on there but I couldn’t find it unfortunately. I will check to see if I can locate it via the ISBN and see if that shows up anything
I could watch you colouring all day. Love the Lottie Forde page. I think i need that book in my life lol xxx

Such a good idea to use the baby wipe with a stencil.

Thank you so much! I must try that too, using the water brush on the tip of the watercolour pencil

Oh wow, that’s really kind. No Newcastle connection as far as I know, Yorkshire through and through!

Yes i like it too
Thank you!!
I love when you do instructional videos like this! They are so helpful. What Neenah card stock do you use for markers?
It just says Neenah card stick in it and 199gsm, got it from Amazon UK. It is for printers and cost me just under £30 which for the amount you get is worth it in my opinion
