I've been saying this exact thing for about a year, FINALLY! So tired of getting close to the next set of ranks then getting destroyed by people who are 100x better

And: unintentional deranking is the better word, not smurfing.
RIGHT it is about time, but never late then never!
You rank below where you should be because you get matched with people who should not be in the same rank as you and have to carry them to have any chance of ranking up. You always get a player who is far less skilled than the other two on the team.
Yeah that's just how rocket league is sometimes. It's all depending on your teammates
@@Sportydan11 It is like that by design. Win a few and you face better opponents with lower skilled team mates. It is being manipulated so bad players have higher win rates and better players have to be far better than those in that rank to progress any higher. It is also full of glitches and obvious ball manipulation, which can be observed just by watching content creators and pausing their videos. It does not face the scrutiny it should, nor the oversight from a e-sporting body to ensure fair play.
Anything gotta help. So many free loaders in lower ranks playing at a high skill level seems like I never get a fair match.

all this is going to do is push people who like to smurf to make even more new accounts... this isnt going to fix anything other than making it easier to get your titles which means you'll be bored faster and again more likely to jump on a new account so that games fun again. All this will do is inflate their player count because new account creation is going to skyrocket. How are they even calling this a fix to anything?
Ive never heard of people smurfing to get titles? Im being genuine and not being like rude but Ive never heard of that. I only thought people smurf to carry there friend to a rank or because they cant keep up at there own rank so they feel the need to make a new account to play with lower people...thinking that they are good. I think there next focus should be limiting the amount of accounts that someone can make. Idk how they could do that but.
@@Sportydan11 i meant they will get all the titles they want on their main account quickly and become bored faster wherever they are stuck
@@Sportydan11 This will cause people who dont smurf to play less because seeing no visual progress is boring. The people who do smurf will just have to make even more accounts now. The game is free, this fixes nothing.
@@Sportydan11 Dont get me wrong I am glad they are finally showing life again but this is not the way. What they need to do is give clubs a purpose and turn it into a team based mmr that starts fresh and saves and only applies when your team is together. Anyone who feels like starting a new account can now just find a new friend and begin a club. MMR that would reflect you as a team instead of an individual on random teams. What a concept.
Oh oh! But yeah I see what you mean. I do think the game going free was a bit of mistake for reasons like this. Back then people had to PAY to make new accounts and now people can make thousands! but yeah a clubs update would be awesome! When they first announced clubs I thought it would have more MEANING?? like how a normal club works haha. But yeah I get what you mean. They are showing life but they have a long way to go
They know all the youtubes that smurf in road to SSL etc, yet do nothing. These changes are not good and may make things worse.
They have actually told Squishy to not do road to SSL from the bottom to avoid surfing. So they are doing something. And just a discussion. How does this update make things worse? Please don't take this the wrong way I'm really just wondering how they make things worse?.
@@Sportydan11 Well they are going to put all ranks in the same area. Their stale idea will put your playlist that you don't play higher. So you don't play those playlist then you will have higher rank based on your other stats. Each game mode has its own way of playing. its not like they are identical. So if you don't play 1s one season and was diamond and you are c3 in your rest. You will be put in a c2-c3 bracket based on stale performance. Right now c1-c2 is a huge jump in gameplay. its like getting c1 and vs GC in just 100 mmr. its not fun. are those people smurfing or is it just you get bad teammates causing unintentional smurfing.
@@Sportydan11 After years of allowing them, it seems meaningless to try to stop it now. Many have followed people like Squishy and try to replicate. This leads to literal smurfing on new accounts from far more than content creators. The game now being free has only worsened the situation. Nothing was done for years when this was obviously a breach of the T&Cs. Like most things in life, it is about who you are when it comes to rules.
Manipulating the ranks is not new for this game, however how they are intending to go about it now has the potential to make things far worse. Being C1 in 2s does not mean I am C1 in 1s, They are played very differently with the latter being far tougher. Artificially promoting me will simply mean I face tougher opponets than I other wise should. Great for those who are C1 in 1s, but very bad for me who is C1 in 2s, but probably P3 to D1 in 1s as it is not a mode I regularly play. I am now going to face people who are far better in 1s and understand that mode better than I. This leaves the same rank disparity that we all so desperatly want removed.
Hey so Ik this is random but I deleted rocket league a while back and I’m installing it again and I’ve had Fortnite crew so will I get the stuff from the rocket pass thing even though I unsubscribed from crew?
If you un subscribed from the crew then you won't be getting the rocket pass this season. As for past seasons. I'm actually not to sure. If you didn't log on you might have gotten to tier 1 but that's about it.

ive been hardstuck diamond in 2s, no matter how much I improve im constantly being heldback by my shitty teammates, and being so much better then my opponets, predicting them is harder due to them being worse, i cant read them, i can confidently play champs and win so why am i not champ? im not saying i should be champ 3 but if im able to beat champs and 1v1 them with confidence, why am i not able to hit it? why is my ranked affected by my teammates? i have been stuck, with over 700 hours, i quit a year ago and came back a few days ago, the first day as you could expect i was ass, i couldn't air dribble, my resets were really choppy, and just in general i sucked, but after some time im back to where i started, im diamond 2 div 4, my teammate put it on ranked at the time i had no idea, i was d3 at this point which i had hit for the first time, i played like it was casual, after the match had about a minute left it was 4-3, i just checked the board and i saw it was ranked, my teammate apologized but losing the rank i struggled to get for hundreds of hours pissed me off, but knowing i should've been that rank a long time ago made it worse. i know im ranting but im just tired of the bullshit ranked system allowing shit players to hit the same rank as me and even hit champ, despite the fact in a 1v1 it would be 5-1
again, sorry for the rant but all i want to do is hit champ and actually move up the ranks instead being hardstuck because my teammates cant save the fucking ball for their life or shoot or any fucking shit and get amazed when i hit a really scuffed air dribble
I can completely see how that can all be very frustrating. I do know fortnite has something of a different ranking system where it depends on what place you place in and how many kills you get in the game. The problem is I'm not sure if they would work in rocket league cause then it would lead to like ball chasing and such. For your situation though I do see how that can be completely frustrating. Solo queuing has haunted this game for years and the only thing I can try and help is maybe go to rocket leagues discord and maybe try to find a teammate that like you constantly play with (maybe one a little higher like champ to know that you'll get a better teammate) but you do not need to say sorry for ranting at all. That's what youtubers are here for. To listen and talk to our community as a whole. I've noticed at the ranks you have players who don't belong there at all and that has increased so much due to boosting and it's so unfair to the players who are better but can't get past that mark. Sorry for the long text! But that's the only thing I could recommend is to try and find a tm8 that you can trust and play consistently with!

If this has already been implemented earlier this week, I call bs. I'm normally C1 in duos and hadn't played in awhile but got placed in plat 3 regardless of my performance. I did fine each placement but kept getting ball chasers who forced me to lose. Last night I kept getting called smurf trying to get out of the lower plat ranks. So this system is a fail in my eyes if it's in fact already live.
What they truly need to do is implement a solo ranking system that only promotes or deranks you by your performance each game, not whether you win or lose. I hate putting in 600-800+ score each game, having a teammate barely top 100 score and lose a 2v2 simply because my teammate ballchases and is ranked too high, but my rank demotes from something out of my control. My individual performance should reflect my ranking up/down, not wins/losses. Still keep wins as the mechanism to earn rewards though. Individual performance should dictate where you belong, but you should still get wins there for rewards. That's the system they need so it stops ballchasers, afkers, and griefers from dropping me game after game.
Might be more noticeable next season? Like when did you finish your placement matches? Also that would be a very good system, fortnite I believe has something like that where the longer you survive the more points and more you rank up. So maybe there will be something like one you said in the future of rocket leagie
I promise it's not your teammates fault they're in your rank for a reason you just can't adjust to their playstyle well enough
This would actually encourage ballchasing over winning games as ballchasing gives u more points. Points genuinely don't matter. So many useful things u do for the team aren't recognised by points. If u really hate ur teammates so much and can't adapt to their ballchasing playstyle then just find a teammate and party queue

If you’re losing that many games then it’s you not the system. For one they said that you wouldn’t be ranked down so really you can only get ranked up with this new system
It's very nice to hear that they are AT LAST going to fix matchmaking..! But, for the last year and a half now, the game's matchmaking was a fkn nightmare! They took their sweet time to adress the problem and begin to work on how to fix this shitty situation! I was about to uninstall, but now I am gonna wait just a bit more!

Maybe, But that would be more difficult to handle the boosted players. Thats hard to stop
