Fishing in my neck of the woods! Good fish in the Osage, good catch on the fish. If y’all are down anytime soon hit the banks for morel mushrooms. Paddlefish and morels are damn good together.

I have a little trick for your reals without line counters. Before you real in the fish when it's hooked. Put a piece of paper under your line. Then you can let it out to the paper. You will be in the same spot, when you hooked up.
Thats not a bad idea. Only thing is when we hit these fish they rip 50 to 100 ft of line almost instantly even before we get them out of rod holder.

Y’all need to come up here and catch some real big ones. Our average is 80lbs. But we can’t troll. All from either drifting and casting or bank fishing where you gotta get in with them big 100+ lbders. Always welcome if y’all wanna road trip season opens up next month

@@402Outdoors Missouri River Montana. It’s a lot of work for one but when you hook that 100+ lb fish. Makes is all worth it. And you can fish for a multi species managerie at the same time. Randy newberg I believe has a few good videos of how we do it up here.

First. I respect that this fishing is perfectly legal in the location they are fishing.
Snagging and gaffs. Both are prohibited in her in Alberta, Canada,,,,, most, if not all freshwater in Canada. If you have a foul caught fish (not IN the mouth) You must release it alive or not.
I’m actually surprised you can keep paddlefish considering their protected status. The sturgeon caught in Alberta, must be released and depending on the year you cannot even target them. The sturgeon in the Fraser river are fully protected as well and must be treated in a manner that does not further harm the fish once caught. They must be released. The reason you cannot gaff them or even be in possession of a gaff at all in Alberta. Even the Northern Pike populations have plummeted here people have abuse the regulations extensively here and still poach Pike, walleye (often called pickerel as we don’t have chain pickerel here), trout,,,,,,. Not so many lakes, but a lot of fishing pressure.

I go fishing as often as possible and many of my good locations are known by maybe a handful of people. To speak of the locations only man’s a flock of people rush to the area and devastate the area in weeks. Literally!! Even when they release the fish, they think it’s cool to take photos from ten different angles with each member in their crew and the fish has no chance by the time it’s released!! There are many good and even great fishermen in the region as well, but they keep their secret locations close to themselves!!! Pretty much every area I fish is “crap” publicly!! 😂😂.
Stay safe all of you and I hope you can keep the good fishing in your area. That species is heavily extirpated in many regions of the USA and now extinct in Canada.

They’re filter feeders...this is the only way to catch them and it’s a huge season/sport for these fish.

And I have to wonder by the way you said " lets go get SOME MORE" after catching the first one that you're not following the laws that are in place to keep these animals from becoming endangered and extinct. Which is that you can catch and keep no more than "2" Paddle Fish a year!... By the sounds and look of it I'll assume you were 100% aware of the law, and you just ignored them with your Only Fans shirt wearing friends to get views on UA-cam. I know that's the reason and that you knew the law by you titling this video "Giant Prehistoric Fish" Scummy move.
Law actually states 2 per person per day. But 4 total in possession per person
First off...1 plus 1 equals 2...which is legal....Second...Before looking stupid on the internet know the laws before you state them incorrectly, it’s 2 per person a day..IF they exceed keeping limit OF 34 inches. Not to mention they’re nowhere near extinct and this is a huge sport for multiple areas. So i “knew the law” by my title...yes, yes i did thank you Laurie
