Wendy’s falsetto in psycho is proof that she’s the best main vocalist. I’ve seen a lot of comments comparing Wendy to yuju. But Wendy has much more versatility imo, her whistle/falsetto’s are everything. I still support both artists tho.
Asterthie in the pre-chorus Wendy uses a technique called the falsetto, and to "achieve" that technique you have to use your head voice ,so we're both technically correct. But thanks for the correction!

Honestly, i'm a Yuju(GFRIEND) biased. She can hit those high notes easily. But when it comes to the best main vocalist, i really think its Wendy(RedVelvet).
I know it says "main singer" which Joy isn't, but to me, Joy is the most interesting singer in Red Velvet. Her phrasing, the way she interprets and delivers a melody, is so idiosyncratic, creative, and pleasing. IMO she's the most remarkable and memorable singer in Red Velvet and one of the very best in Kpop.

I’m surprised and rather disappointed that no one’s talking about Siyeon... She truly is an amazing vocalist. She’s very diverse, not the widest range, but her technique is very good. I really hope she gets the recognition she deserves. In my opinion, I believe she should be at the top.
The problem is that siyeon doesn't really support any of her note( she has shown some shallow supported G#4 that's all) so seeing her in 4th is a real problem 🤣 ( she is my bias and it's heart broken that someone with a very good vibrato and a wide range doesn't really support her note 😭) so she should be 15 or under unfortunately!!
My Top 5 and my reasoning: 1. Yuju- her beautiful vocals are out of this world. 2. Wendy- amazing range, projection and emotion. 3. Seunghee- Her voice is beautiful, crystal clear...but also surprisingly airy. She has the voice of a literal angel. 4. Haeyoon- A beautiful and emotional voice. Her voice pulls at my heart strings when she sings ballads. 5. Yuri- her voice is unique and airy and husky. She has a deeper voice than most main vocalists. Also, she improved drastically in a short time. (Most main vocalists have a lot of professional practice singing before debut but Yuri was not really able to because of financial issues. Idol school was her first time getting any sort of training and then she only trained for 9 months before pd 48.)
I think yuri can be higher, she still 17 years old but have a unique and husky voice, also kei can be higher, anyways good ranking, love to see jungwoo of bvndit here. Wendy is the only 3rd Gen GG that has 4 octaves and 8 voices technique. The quality the emotion, wendy can reach high notes but she don't need that to be the best singer.
For me, Wendy is the best singer in 3rd generation.. she can sing in every genre and she mastering various vocal techniques.. she also have power and her registers tho.. she deserves to be the queen of vocals in 3rd generations
I may sound biased but there is really something when Wendy is singing. Just like earlier when I'm watching her on King of Mask Singer, I literally cried the whole time because I can feel her emotion when singing and at the same time I'm so proud because red velvet brought me to kpop.

Kenichi Ono but Technique wise Wendy is way more superior and her technique is desirable. Try to listen to Yuju now her voice is overworked and tired due to pushing for them high notes and the company did nothing. Wendy keeps on getting high notes and still hasn’t damaged anything due to having a good upper register that isn’t being overuses

Taste! I also stan DC and Mamamoo and I really like (G)I-DLE and RV although I wouldn't say I stan either. I'm admittedly biased, but I'd put both Wheein and Solar above Wendy. Wendy has a great voice but in the lives I've seen she likes to reach for little flourishes that she's hit or miss on. I know it says "main singer" which Joy isn't, but to me, Joy is the most interesting singer in Red Velvet. Her phrasing, the way she interprets and delivers a melody, is so idiosyncratic, creative, and pleasing. IMO she's the most remarkable and memorable singer in Red Velvet and one of the very best in Kpop.

The problem is that siyeon doesn't really support any of her note( she has shown some shallow supported G#4 that's all) so seeing her in 4th is a real problem 🤣 ( she is my bias and it's heart broken that someone with a very good vibrato and a wide range doesn't really support her note 😭) so she should be 15 or under unfortunately!!

3. Seunghee- Her voice is beautiful, crystal clear...but also surprisingly airy. She has the voice of a literal angel.
4. Haeyoon- A beautiful and emotional voice. Her voice pulls at my heart strings when she sings ballads.
5. Yuri- her voice is unique and airy and husky. She has a deeper voice than most main vocalists. Also, she improved drastically in a short time. (Most main vocalists have a lot of professional practice singing before debut but Yuri was not really able to because of financial issues. Idol school was her first time getting any sort of training and then she only trained for 9 months before pd 48.)

Taste! I also stan DC and Mamamoo and I really like (G)I-DLE and RV although I wouldn't say I stan either. I'm admittedly biased, but I'd put both Wheein and Solar above Wendy. Wendy has a great voice but in the lives I've seen she likes to reach for little flourishes that she's hit or miss on. Maybe if she played it safer I'd never notice and I wouldn't be writing this comment now, but I can't trust that Wendy's going to consistently nail parts like I can with Solar and Wheein.

It is true that Wendy has a good vocal technique but Yuju also, that Yuju stands out more for the high notes does not mean that he does not have a good technique (I say this because there are videos that show that Yuju has a beautiful voice apart from the high notes) In addition, the high notes, although they are not everything, are a part and when seeing how Yuju knows how to handle his voice in this way, it is something to admire since too much vocal control and great air control are needed ... by all this I mean that they are at the same level and who is better depends on the person who hears their beautiful voices

no offend but critically speaking i think wendy has more better technique, i mean yuju is good but there's also solar to be tied with her, but overall wendy is just amazing like she has 4 octave and emotion as well she know how to hit the song in low and high register perfectly it just so imposible not to rank her in the first position.
Nope.. it's possible to rank her even 3 or 4.. techniques and emotions can be developed..but hitting high notes is not and Yuju can hit higher notes

YESSSS, someone finally understans, have anybody heared before of technique, or smth called falsetto?? Or even LOW NOTES, which is my fav type of singing and alot of people's fav type of singing. Like hell, peopel be saying wendy is better, yuju is better,solar is better, when they are all basically doing te same thing ( hitting high notes,lol) like until now i have never seen a main vocalist who is like ADELE for example, i know adele has nothing to do here, but people keep telling some singers "perfect" just because they hit high notes, who knows, maybe they can't go deep and falsetto, i didn't see yuju go deep before ?? I know low notes is also not everything, but high notes are also not evevrything, people need to get that.

Wendy delivers emotion better than anyone. They all got good technique but Wendy's is the best. Her range in low register and high register are same as Ailee. Not anyone in the list can do it like her. and she can do vocal gymnast from C level to G then D then A.
Edit : Yall so mad about Wendy getting the highest rank when we all should know that hitting high notes doesnt make you the best. The whole falsetto, whistle notes, low register, emotion, are shaking.

@Jaasmi Remington both yuju and solar get a little shouty after the fourth octave. And also their head voices are a little weaker. Wendy has a more healthier technique and is also more versatile then both of them.

Her real voice is unique too. When she performed in 'king of masked Singer' she used her real voice but yeah it's not healthy for her to sing in that way. Her voice can be damaged, if she keep doing that.
