Why is JD Vance attacking a fellow veteran. He should know better. Walz could retire after 20 years but probably signed another 4 year contract then got out and ran for Congress. Walz had part of his skull removed to have inner ear surgery because of the damage to his hearing by firearm shooting, In order to get hearing back enough to continue to serve after he served his 20. That’s what I call dedication to service to your country. (I’ve had inner ear surgery twice). Then put his papers in Feb 2005 to run for Congress, Unit was initially proposed to go to Iraq in March 2005, papers signed for Retirement in May, with unit fully staffed. His former unit was selected for deployment to Iraq in July, and last of unit left in March 2006. When he retired, he was active Command Sergeant Major, but because he hadn’t completed coursework, was downgraded a paygrade for benefits. I miss so much when journalists actually fact checked themselves.
