Francesco Tristano | A Day in the Life of the Luxembourg Pianist and Composer

Francesco Tristano wanders between musical worlds, he loves Bach and recognize in his works the principles of electronic music. Not only on his CD's but also on stage Tristano combines Classic and Techno with own compositions. In his opinion are breaks during the recital disturbing, music has to converge. Also in clubs, he likes to combine electronic music with classic elements.

I started crying when he said that at the Juilliard School all the other pianists were playing Schumann or Liszt while you were playing Bach and contemporary music. I relate to this man on a very deep level, I too felt pretty out of place at my music school and Bach and. contemporary music became my obsession, and electronic music .

Ich finde sehr entscheidend, dass Francesco Tristano erklärt, daß elektronische und "ernste" Musik ein unterschiedliches Vokabular haben und das es darum geht, diese unterschiedlichen Sprachen zu einer Einzigen zu kombinieren! Vielleicht hat er es heute leichter als noch ein Friedrich Gulda, der genau dasselbe vor 25 Jahren tat und von der Kritik nur für seinen Bach, Beethoven und Mozart geliebt und respektiert ( oder besser: "verstanden") wurde. Mir fehlt bei vielen "klassischen" Musikern die Begeisterung für improvisierte- oder auch für die "eigene" Musik. Das verwundert immer wieder.

Manche Menschen haben echt alles ...Gesundheit, Geld, gutes aussehen, musikalisches können, Kochkunst, schöne Frauen.... Wahnsinn.
Man muss natürlich auch sagen, dass er sehr viel Ehrgeiz bewiesen hat um so weit zu kommen. Es steckt sehr viel harte Arbeit darin. Daher mein vollster Respekt

Sehr geiler Typ, der seinen eigenen Kopf hat. An Bach kommt niemand vorbei und Bach zu spielen ergibt keinen Sinn, wenn ich ihn nicht als Kind meiner Zeit ind die Jetzt-Zeit übersetze. Bach ist für mich der genetische Code der Musik. Dann muss ich mich mit zeitgenössischer Musik befassen, da ich ja selbst ein Zeitgenosse bin. Was sonst also? Und ja: es gibt nur Musik. Musik. Und das ist nicht klar zu definieren. An den Hochschulen wollen sie Liszt, Chopin, Schumann aber es gibt auch die Fähigkeit zur Improvisation . Ist der Jazz oder die improvisierte Musik "weniger" wert? Nein. Ist sie nicht. Vielmehr muss die Musik immer wieder neu definiert werden. Das ist überlebenswichtig.

I wonder if this kiddo have ever get a regular job, I guess not, just playing ever since a kiddo I guess. I always think when I watch these guys in the so many children with unimaginable talets not discovered due to their misfortune in life thus leaving them aside in society without the chance to develope/polish their giftONLY bc they don't have the resources ($$$), therefore, I think; even if all these new generation artists are great and talented, are full of pride & selfishness. Music is truly a privilege badly distributed.💔😠
