〈Learning About Humanity〉는 2019년 국립아시아문화전당에 열린 ‘해킹푸드’전에서 초연된 것으로 인공신경망 GPT-2가 생성한 닭고기 음식 레시피를 직접 요리하는 퍼포먼스와 함께 GPT-2의 레시피 학습 과정을 시청각화한 시퀀스가 융합된 복합 미디어 작업이다. 특히 인공지능이 생성한 닭고기 요리는 그 자체로 인류세와 육식문화에 대한 은유로서, 언해피서킷은 이를 통해 인간성에 대한 질문을 우리에게 던진다.
First presented at the Hacking Food exhibit held by the Asia Culture Center in 2019, this work is a complex mixture of media featuring a performance in which participants cook a chicken recipe generated by the artificial neural network GPT-2, as well as sequences visualizing the recipe learning process of GPT-2. The chicken recipe generated by artificial intelligence in particular is a metaphor fir the Anthropocene age and meat-eating culture which questions our humanity.
