one of the very few 18th century operahouses still going. this one is practically untouched most of them burnt down. this one was closed in the early 19th cent. and was rediscovered in the 1929s with complete sets and machinery. Now playing every summer
Excellent that something of the sort has been posted.
Now we can only hope for an updated version of the clip that makes the transition from the overture of the Magic Flute to the finale of Tom Jones seem logical. I really wish that the sound of the thunder machine (the tilted box at 1:05) could be heard, too If you happen to be close by, take the chance and the see the theatre. It is marvellous. Should you get the opportunity to attend a performance -dont hesitate!

I miss seeing live opera at the Canadian Opera Company so much!
Thank you for this -I'd like it to be much longer!
Amazing!
molto bello ... chissà come sarà "L'incoronazione di POPPEA" del 6 Agosto prossimo ! !
Is this regularly used and not JUST the summer?
Carey, because it is in it's original condition, that precludes using it in any other season, it's not heated to 21st century standards.
Awesome!
wow!!
