    Nathan, I discovered your book on Amazon which I purchased and which led me to your channel. This was when I was interested in getting into interior photography but hadn’t even shot a room before. I had started by being informed about the HDR /flash blend technique but it required so many photos it seemed very long winded and confusing, but then you talked about Flambient and I was hooked! After absorbing everything you have taught, borrowing a friends flat as a practice subject and using all your advice and methods I’ve now landed 3 clients who are interior designers/ construction companies and they want me to document every new job they have, which works out at around 3-4 jobs a week between them all. I’m a novice and keep coming across new challenges every time (especially with long rooms or small bathrooms!) but the clients are happy and it’s all thanks to you! Keep making videos please and just wanted to say I’m really appreciative of the info you’ve put out there, esp in a field that is so secretive and hard to get into. I’m buying pretty much all your other books on Amazon as well 👍🏼💖

      @@NathanCoolPhoto Yes you definitely have. I was wondering if you had any advice specifically for how a ceiling should look with regards to how bright and where shadows should be and stopping spot lights blowing out, or how to get the nice yellow ambient of a lamp in a small area without getting the rest of the colour cast elsewhere? Am I just getting the balance wrong between the flash and how much to overpower the ambient light? Thanks if you find the time to answer 🤩

    Thanks Nathan for the great tips! I'm trying to break away from HDR and the flash tips are really helping. I'm finding that it adds so much time on location and in processing, but with much better results. Need a tutorial on how to do this quicker......LOL

    • @NathanCoolPhoto

      Hi Jeff, one thing that will speed things up is to not do every shot as a showcase...leave bathrooms, guest/child baths, and laundry rooms to single exposures (with light flash)...keep those simple.

    Great as always. Question. On the 2nd bathroom. How if you threw a black cloth over the toilet on the shower pop shots ? Would that remove the reflection or just make more problematic? Thanks

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! That would be too much work, take too much time, and likely still reflect, so not recommended.

  • @stupidcutiecat
    @stupidcutiecat 6 років тому +2

    Very cool as always! Loves your videos a lot! Just a quick question, how do you frame and shoot extremely tiny bathrooms? I find it very hard to include the toilet, shower and vanity all together in one shot. There're not many videos on UA-cam talking about shooting tiny bathrooms. I only found one tutorial very briefly talking about this topic and he suggested to put the camera near the ceiling and shoot from a birdseye view. But the photos are not so flattering. I will appreciate should you give your opinion on this topic.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  6 років тому +2

      People know bathrooms have toilets so I never both with them. If the bathroom is so small that you can't shoot it all, just include the best feature(s). I also cover another way to get around tight spaces with various compositions in the first book in my real estate photography series: www.amazon.com/dp/B0755KXSL4

    Mr Cool...question. When you shoot your ambient frames do you have the lights on or off? If off do you shoot a separate ambient frame with them on or a flash frane with them on? I feel at certain times a space could benefit from the lights on but when I brush them in or use an ambient frame with the lights on it tends to look like a bright blob. Thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks for the videos and your time!

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  7 років тому +2

      Both, either, doesn't matter to me, I use enough light to drown out the worst of the cast. Different client like different looks, some like the yellow cast, some hate it.

    Quick question, wouldn't it make the work flow a little smoother to hit X and swap your white brush while painting in the mask to "erase" something that is over done. For example when you used the eraser to erase the mask on the tile. Probably more of a case of user preference. Great work, as always!

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
