“The rear is 3.... naw we can get 4 in there. Now we just gotta tighten that up a bit”- brazzers
bought the specific tool to do these springs off ebay and it works great
You still have the car bro and that look nice cheers
Nice video man!
Thank you, hope it helped!
Why didnt you just take the spindle and shock apart, and use a jack to manipulate the lower control arm? Painful watching you get that spring out.
Dear god that's terrifying 😳 I would have jus un bolted the control arm so it jus slided off 😅
Thank you for sharing! If you were to this again, would you use the spring compressor to remove the rear springs?
Sorry for the late reply, honestly i would do it the same way removing the control arm. it was much easier than dealing with the spring compressor.
I just bought another project car, and before I saw your video I wanted it to look exactly like yours. What tips do u have for me to make this car as fast as possible. Mines is also a 5 speed
Nice! for power its kinda limited unfortunately, look into a pulley upgrade and tune for sure, If you like to hear the supercharger i recommend making a cold air intake setup, its not too difficult, basically just two cone filters. also look into upgrading the intercooler, they dont have one for the SLK but cx racing makes a universal one you can use.
I lowered my clk on the same springs without the rubber thing, I was able to get very low without any bad ride quality
Did you notice any bad effects?
@@duendae4836 there were no bad handling affects, but it will bounce frequently over bumps depending on what shock absorbers u have.
Great video, I just installed these in my w202. Is it normal for them to rattle a bit before settling? I doubled checked and rechecked to make sure I didn't miss any thing.
Thank you, only thing I can think of is the spring retainers might be rattling. I didn't have any rattle tho, so I'm not sure.
I was thinking couldn’t I just drop the lower control arm on the front and completely ditch buying the spring compressor or would the spring be to tight and raise the whole car? D
Can you add the link to where you bought these?
Hello great video, what tyres did you have front and rear
Thank you, I had the Bridgestone Potenza RE970as and the sizes were 225/40r17 Fronts and 245/35r17 Rear
what's the name of the kit to remove the spring?
Hi there I just recently install these springs with stock shocks on my Nissan Altima, didn’t really notice the different, how many mile did u put on the car when u started to tell the drop difference? Hope to hear from u thanks.
Hello, it was about a week or two of driving before it fully settled and I could actually notice the difference.
So when you were compressing and decompressing the springs with the disks, are you able to use an air ratchet? Seems like it would be faster that way.
With this specific spring compressor it said not to use air impact on it. Plus I didnt really trust the structural integrity of the kit lol
The compressor is good but it’s skech you definitely want to go as slow as possible
the springs u had in before there where the original ones right? I got 18 Inch Wheels 225/40/18 front and rear and I think 35mm springs are too low right? or will it fit? ah and other question is: u still drive this car? and everything is fine with these springs? I saw them on ebay for arround 140euro the Vogtland springs
I was running 17s with that size of tire with no issues lowered, with the 18s you might rub a bit but it would be when you are fully locked out turning.
@@MitchCarveth yeah was thinking of just lowering the rear cause the rear is way too high and front is already very low
After compressing, it took a while to get it out, what did the trick there? And how's the handling? nice work btw!
Not gonna lie I just had to keep trying different angles tell it finally came out lol handling is awesome! I am very happy with it and the ride quality didnt suffer it's just a bit stiffer. Thank you!
Thank you for your answer, I ordered the compression kit and will do this soon!
Anytime! I hope this video will help!
Why did your car go from gloss to flat?!
when u lowered your car, did it take a little bit for the drop to increase and the springs to settle, or was the drop instant?
It was noticeably lowered but it did take about a week of driving to settle fully.
i have one other question..
where did u order the spring compressor kit from?
i have the same drop springs (vogtland)for a chrysler crossfire, and i can't find that style. the front springs are no joke on these cars..
Feel free to ask as many questions as you need. Honestly I just ordered it off Ebay, I was looking at kits on other sites for 3 times the price for the same thing and yes the front springs are no fun at all lol
thanks much.. i appreciate it.
im doing a 1.2" kit. it's the same kit you have, but only lowers my car 1.2"
now, the back wasn't too bad, but the front is a pain, and nowhere here in dallas is there a spring kit like u used. i tried others and it was a no go.. so, it
looks like ebay is where im going.
now did the kit hold up, or was it kinda sketchy?
I know the pain, everyone just kinda looked at me funny when asked if they had that style compressor. It felt a bit sketchy/cheap at first but ended up working out just fine.
Any rubbing and what kind of rims u have brand and size please
No rubbing at all and the rims are Niche Misano 17x8 5x112 +44 offset
What part of Washington I’m also from here
Awesome, i'm in Wenatchee. Its basically right in the middle of Washington.
thanks for the video, but try to tall a bit not much to keep the video interesting
You're welcome, and thank you for the input. Trying to be better about that lol
