I just didn't like the mixing on the album, mainly the vocals sounding thin / harsh on the S's.. it's a shame cause the music is great but you really can't listen to it on good headphones/speakers or loud
@@mlgdigimon very likely. I understand why people like it. I thought the content was repulsive and no one should listen to this. He successfully made the first rap album I find morally reprehensible. Coming from donda this actually hurt my soul. Man put his daughter on this....
REACT TO YE’s MUSIC VIDEOS AFTER ALL THE ALBUMS DONE PLS! Ye, isn’t just a producer, or a rapper, he is a whole, well-rounded artist, visually, & audibly. (runaway, the short film) as well as his other films
What I find most incredible about this album is the whole mentality that Kanye was in at that time. There's an interview of him on Netflix with Dave Letterman a few years before this album (ye era) which he says he was studying the power of music frequencies talking about heartz, healing, chakras and everything Another cool thing that i remember what he said when the album came out was him saying that the most important thing about the album is the name, the name "JESUS IS KING" it was spoken by so many people it was literally on everyone's mouth, i personally think this even has a connection with the Balenciaga theory (Baal is King) it is an affront to the culture that is imputed to us, that makes us slaves to instagram, fast food, drugs, disposable music and plasticized relationships with life. (It's an affront too to those who were trying to cancel him, kill him, etc). I know several people who became Christians or even more approached for a spiritual life after this album. I know it's not a perfect album from start to finish, but it really has moments that touch the soul! this was provided to everyone who was involved on the album, like Sunday Service, not just Kanye. The point is that this album has incredible sonic power, to the point of touching people, healing people. I think this was also due to Kanye looking at himself in a slightly more humble way, he already talked in "ye" about killing his own ego and that he was on this journey. I think this is the fruit of Ye, which was an album of the healing process that he had been involved in since The Life of Pablo.
Never commented on this channel before. But MAN I gotta say it’s so refreshing to see you both jamming out to this album with how lukewarm most others are in their reactions when they get to Jesus is King. Keep up the great work!
I was 18 when this album came out and at the time the only song I cared for was Follow God. In the beginning of 2022 I went back to JIK and was able to enjoy On God, Everything We Need & Hands On. Just a few weeks ago in January I went back to it again and found myself in love with every song except Water. This album truly has grown on me and I feel like a lot of other people as well. People need to appreciate JIK for what it is, it's not your typical Kanye album but it's definitely an amazing album. Great video and glad your dad was able to enjoy JIK as much as a lot of us do today!
I don’t know if a reaction to Jesus is born would bring a lot of views, but I think you should definitely show your pops the album. He seemed to really enjoy the choir, and the album is amazing.
i’ve been watching y’alls reactions for the last month or so and didn’t even realize i wasn’t subbed. love the videos and keep it up :) also have y’all considered reacting to Rod Wave?
YOOOOOO!!! This was a crazy ass upload right now🙏🏼 Gonna enjoy this, I’m writing this seconds into the video I know this a good one. Many more blessings for y’all❤️
Can't wait for the Donda reaction, feel like pops would love the message and production. It's one of those albums I go to in my most dark times for help and in my most grateful times to give thanks. Appreciate the content, God bless yall!
Y’all the first ones i seen to actually love this album. I love this album and it genuinely brought me closer to God. People love to hate on anything related to religion especially Christianity.
If Jesus is lord was a rap song over those strings it could’ve felt like a natural evolution of late registration. It’s a great sounding song but it could’ve been so much better
I hate that nobody ever gave this album the love it deserved. It shares a lot of the exact instrumentals & flows that were on the long anticipated “Yandhi”, but as soon as he changed it to be religious, nobody even bothered to listen to it, and strongly hated on it, for no reason.
God is is the best moment on the album. Dude was just pouring his heart out & letting the spirit speak, then at the end he repeats “that’s what God is”. Amazing song.
It's so beautiful and awesome to see your dad enjoying this album man... Gave me a newfound appreciation for it and I was smiling throughout the whole video ❤️
Yo! If ya’ll like the god vibes 😅 on the new Kanye project. The Danny brown and jpegmafia project “Scarring the Hoes” is a fun and is an experimental take on the church/choir sampling instrumentation.
If u find life and rhymes , which was an MTV show back in the day, Kanye walks you through his childhood and what songs influenced him in his childhood … for your pops curiosity sake
yes the best album intros tend to be songs that are fast paced and upbeat, energetic really setting the tone for the rest of the album. All my favorite intros are UP like that. Nas- No introduction another good example of a first track that sets th tone.
This brought me so much Joy. I listen to this every weekend with my mom and family when clean the house. Reminded me of that. Ye can do know wrong with me .🙏
Just started watching your videos and I haven’t stoped watching I can tell you are a big hip hop head. My first introduction to hip hop was my dad and I stole his snoop doggy style and 2 pac macavelli tapes from his room. Much love I love your channel please keep making content 👏
This album is underrated. A lot of good moments especially if you come from a biblical background. Prob best gospel album ever made if we are being honest.
People don't like this album because it's overtly religious and that's exactly why I loved it when it released. It was refreshing and he was still able to experiment with different sounds and styles. Incredible album! Look forward to watching you guys listen to Donda

This album is insanely overhated! God Is is one of my favorite Ye songs ever. Straight from the soul🙏
lol i literally can’t play god is on spotify in public because my brain just kinda shuts down from how good it is
Cause it’s ass af
fun fact about that song, almost every verse in it is a verse in the Bible
Until he says he’s Jesus Christ in this new album.
@@ChristianTologyyeah Im praying for him. I didn’t like that
The instruments on this are some of his best ever. Mad underrated. People saw the title and didn't give it a fair listen.

agreed, but for some reason its kind of a nostagic old school sound. doesnt take away from the writing tho @@ScottThePisces
@@ScottThePiscesI think this is an issue with your devices because it sounds good to me 😂

I cannot wait, JIK and Donda make the whole discography come full circle for me tbh.
