Reason for me is kinda simple, the real deal is the Luffy OP fruit which has just one limit, immagination. He has immagined Bonnie as nika, plus as Luffy said, he does not know how her power work but he is sure that she can pull it out. So basically, she can turn herself in a copy of Nika fruit like she would copy every other fruit is she wanted to. Copy means gain some property but not all. Moreover Luffy has Advanced Conqueror haki so this means he can at will pull who he want to his side and command them (but we know Luffy is not this kinda of person). So this means that someone whit a strong will like Zoro, Sanji, Jimbey they will never be a copy of him. So at the end of the day as a God, he can infuse freedom to everyone who has not a goal and a strong will in him/her self.
Yeah there are basically two schools of thought. Either it's solely Bonney's devil fruit OR Luffy's abilities combined with Bonney's devil fruit abilities that resulted in her being able to become Nika. Only time will tell which is right :) I'm actually excited to see what happens. Unless luffy has the power to make people believe they can be Nika this is gonna be very interesting. Luffy did say I’m sure u can be. Giving hope. Nahh, her devil fruit allows her to mimic others abilities. It has nothing to do with her will. There's also the theory that Luffy had unconsciously help her with the transformation as well. But until that's confirmed, it's just a theory. You'll also have your answer in the latest chapter and why Luffy's achievement wasn't taken away :)
Personally it made me really emotional to see Bonney achieve her freedom by transforming into Nika but as far as the abilities are concerned, I don't think she has all the abilities/powers of gear 5 Luffy, it's just that she copied his appearance in giant form. So, no need to feel sad about it.
We'll see what happens in the next few chapters. I don't think it's just his appearance in giant form. She has the ability to create powers that she can visualize so am sure it'll be more than that.

Reason for me is kinda simple, the real deal is the Luffy OP fruit which has just one limit, immagination. He has immagined Bonnie as nika, plus as Luffy said, he does not know how her power work but he is sure that she can pull it out. So basically, she can turn herself in a copy of Nika fruit like she would copy every other fruit is she wanted to. Copy means gain some property but not all. Moreover Luffy has Advanced Conqueror haki so this means he can at will pull who he want to his side and command them (but we know Luffy is not this kinda of person). So this means that someone whit a strong will like Zoro, Sanji, Jimbey they will never be a copy of him. So at the end of the day as a God, he can infuse freedom to everyone who has not a goal and a strong will in him/her self.
Yeah there are basically two schools of thought. Either it's solely Bonney's devil fruit OR Luffy's abilities combined with Bonney's devil fruit abilities that resulted in her being able to become Nika.
Only time will tell which is right :) I'm actually excited to see what happens. And the divide reminds me of when Luffy's gear 5 was shown and how people hate the fact that it's goofy and like Looney tunes lol

Unless luffy has the power to make people believe they can be Nika this is gonna be very interesting. Luffy did say I’m sure u can be. Giving hope. If it becomes like this luffy already has some crazy abilities. His teeth grow back just from milk so it wouldn’t be that crazy. Plus he bends solid stuff.
It's gonna be very interesting but it could be really boring at the same time. Imagine if he makes everyone Nika lol. That wouldn't sit well with me. I'd like it to be the combination of his abilities plus Bonney's abilities that allowed her to transform.

It hasn't caused a divide, we just don't know whats going on. I think this power up Bonnie has, isn't caused by her Devil fruit, but it is another odd ability luffy is unaware he has. "Because he believes she can do it, and he can sudo manipulate reality, Bonnie does it." That's what i think is happening.
It has caused a divide. Just read the comments on here and also on Pirate Folk and X. People are literally saying that Oda has lost the plot, they're not gonna read or watch One Piece etc. Quite a number of people have expressed their distaste for two Nikas. And that's the thing. You're right about the fact that we don't know what's going on. But people are so quick to just "end" it because Bonney is now "Nika" too. It doesn't matter whether they know it or not. They just can't accept it or that it doesn't vibe with them at all

Nahh, her devil fruit allows her to mimic others abilities. It has nothing to do with her will. There's also the theory that Luffy had unconsciously help her with the transformation as well. But until that's confirmed, it's just a theory. You'll also have your answer in the latest chapter and why Luffy's achievement wasn't taken away :)

Personally it made me really emotional to see Bonney achieve her freedom by transforming into Nika but as far as the abilities are concerned, I don't think she has all the abilities/powers of gear 5 Luffy, it's just that she copied his appearance in giant form.
So, no need to feel sad about it.
We'll see what happens in the next few chapters. I don't think it's just his appearance in giant form. She has the ability to create powers that she can visualize so am sure it'll be more than that.

And the reason why he knew why she couldn't do anything then (when Saturn was holding her) was because she did not see a possible future where she could escape.

Now, you have another school of thought which is that Luffy's ability (imagination), combined with Bonney's devil fruit ability allowed her to transform into Nika. I don't know if this is Oda's foreshadowing but in the same chapter, Saturn also said that Bonney hasn't drawn the connection between Nika and Luffy's new white form. I get your frustration. Though I don't feel like it was a joke writing since it was already hinted a while ago. This isn't him just winging it per se. And you're more than welcome to give opinions here. I don't think one should be called a "fake fan" just because someone don't vibe/agree with how it's written. I don't think one should be determined as a "real fan" just because he or she agrees everything that Oda writes. That's why we have discussions and that's why we share our thoughts and opinions. Saying you're a "fake fan" is just a cop out I feel.
This whole thing is like the reveal of Gear 5 all over again lol. I know a lot of people hated how goofy Gear 5 was and stopped following One Piece literally because of that.

Also, I wouldn't really say that she's a side character. Yes, for the most part of the series she has. However, it's not surprising that she could potentially come into the spotlight as one of the important characters due to Kuma, Vegapunk's actions to make her top of the command for the pacifista, and Kuma telling her stories about Nika.
Again, time will tell. I'll have to say, credit to you man. At least you said: "hope next chapter there is an excellent explanation for this plot cause this is just disappointing" as opposed to "this is crap and I'm done with One Piece".
