I've tried to get into MTG for a long time, but never really wanted to spend the money and time etc. But I've grew up reading and watching LOTR and definitely going to try to collect some of these cards for sure.
Just wanna tell you, my 5 year old son and I love watching your videos! We recently got into MTG because of the LOTR sets, watching your vids together has been a good bit of fun in anticipation for buying more sets 😂 thanks for what you do 🤙🏻
I’m a huge LOTR fan, so I’ve bought a few things so far… I scored one prerelease box, two bundles, one set booster box and one box of collector boosters. I can’t wait to open them all!!
One reason is they wanted the lineage of Numenorean Kings to be notable and distinguishable in appearance from the common man. Theoden is also dark skinned as well. They did originate on a tropical island so it isnt a far fetched plan.
Can’t wait to get mine off of target soon! As a huge fan of the novel and Tolkien other writings, I’m in this for the gameplay, collecting, but mostly the LORE
Good plan. I think the pricing is partly inflated by the One Ring hype, and I'm not sure how interested people will be in serialized or limited Sol Rings after that.
Haven’t opened any yet in the UK we didn’t seem to get a pre release so have to wait until Friday 23rd 😭 great opening though you got some pretty good stuff would you say those type of collector packs are better value than the draft and set boosters?
I recommend either buying a preconstructed deck, or browsing Commander deck lists on edhrec.com and mtggoldfish.com and picking up individual cards online from tcgplayer.com. The advantage of preconstructed decks is they often have staple Commander cards you can use in other decks.
I bought the single i want for the moment. I'm waiting to see the spoilers of Commander Master before making my box choice. I probably bought a bundle for the release
No, you're not likely to be able to build 2 functional decks out of a bundle. The Lord of the Rings starter decks or Commander decks would be better options. Alternatively you could build multiple decks from a draft booster box.
@@MTGUnpacked I'm mostly looking for a way to experience more cards and to experiment with deck building. So, I'll check out the draft box. I appreciate your feedback, thank You very much! :)
Nope. The set itself contains Commander and non-Commander cards. You'll get a bunch of random cards from the set from these bundles, along with potentially cards from 'the list' which are taken from throughout Magic history. There are even larger booster boxes which contain 30 packs (set boosters) or 36 packs (draft boosters). If you're just interested in Commander, it's better to get the decks.
@@MTGUnpacked Yea it's pretty painfull, but as a newcomer and owning nothing of the lotr cards yet, they seem so cool. and the one ring included in this bundle goes for like 75 euros in euro, idk if that might justify the price a bit more?
That ain’t no lady of Rohan that’s a lady of the Haradrim they are meant to be Anglo, Saxon, that is to be an English native. Lord of the rings is meant as mythology for England. They even turned the Easterlings into a horde of battle obsessed barbarians who don’t know how to make a proper weapon this is just insulting
DO NOT BUY THESE BUNDLE BOXES. They are curated to only have the same trash Rares and Epics. I have opened 80 of these bundle boxes and not gotten a single Orcish Bowmasters or The One Ring out of the 640 set boosters.
@@MTGUnpacked I have opened many times more of these bundles than you have. 1 lucky pack out of hundreds proves nothing, it is the rare exception. I dropped nearly $3500 on 80 of these Bundles, and barely broke even, and that is with selling the dice and boxes. Buying them for $80 per Bundle is guaranteed to lose $$$.

The expense of mtg is definitely a deterrent for the game but Lotr is the oje of the few UB that actually seemed worth it.
If you want to start out, there's a mobile game for it that's free so you can learn how to play and all of the rules
Mr House is coming to the new mtg fall out edition

Why did they make Aragorn black?

I’m so excited for this set I pre ordered a lot of singles and other stuff no collector boxes or booster boxes
Seems like the way to go for sure! Some real bangers for Edh decks in here 😁
Crazy these boxes are selling for $90+ now…everyone is tempted by the ring!
There was a shop in my local town selling for $67. I snatched one up real quick

Why there is only one
I just got this unboxed yesterday at the store, lots of mythics and of course the main 4 foil promos included, cheers from Uruguay!

Great unboxing. Unboxed a Normal One ring totally unexpected in my own last unboxing. Allways nice to see them.
Not too mad about my pulls... Top 3 would be a Nazgul, a foil Sauron the Dark Lord and Shelob.
I think Ill wait until the one of one is found in July, then get some for maybe closer to what its actually Worth.
Good plan. I think the pricing is partly inflated by the One Ring hype, and I'm not sure how interested people will be in serialized or limited Sol Rings after that.
I feel like I always get lots of good stuff from bundle boxes
We're waiting on the gift bundles before we dig into this set, but this video was fun to watch!
Do you get frodo sam gollum and the one ring in every bundle? Or is it a chance?
Every bundle. It's printed right on the back of the box!
@@MTGUnpacked awesome thank you!
got a decent amount of value from those lorien revealeds
Besides the presale pack there's nothing to get your hands on yet in europe. Even the bundles were already sold out ( pre order ) 3 weeks ago.
Can't wait to see what's in store!

Awesome video! I really like your enthusiasm, greetings from Costa Rica.
Is it advised to buy this edition and use it for making two decks for a standard PvP play?

@@bluebluebee9043I'm 3 months late to reply, but it might be best to get the LOTR starter deck pack and a prerelease kit to power up those decks.
Really just want to pick up a gift bundle for the black/red spindown counter.
Super interested in where you get your playmats!
Usually my local game store or UltraPro.com.
Any idea how to get them at there base part instead of paying for them on ebay or amazon for like 300$ now?
Invent a time machine?😜

So there’s 4 commanders decks and this is basically just a huge booster box for those decks?

Question: why are some of the cards bordered, and others aren't?
The borderless ones look waaaaaay better.
Collectibility vs cheaper cards for play.
@@MTGUnpacked Cheers.
So, are there different versions of each card... one for collecting, one for regular play?
Not every card. Usually Uncommons, Rare, or Mythic, but sometimes they have Common variants.

How do you tell which is common from the rares?
Color of the set symbol in the middle right of the card (black/grey/yellow/orange) or the C/U/R/M letter in the bottom left.
