This is a fanTAStic holster. The clip is tight, unlike your example. I have absolutely no complaints with it. It’s perfect for appendix carry ( no more Mexican/appendix carry).
A nice added advantage of the spike is that it helps reduce lint build-up in the barrel. As for your criticism of their warning against use when carrying 1-up, I guess they could have worded it differently, saying "the manufacturer bears no liability for discharge while holstering or carrying a weapon with a round in the chamber".
I'm waiting for their tuckable version. If it happens, I'll buy one.
Seems like many holster makers are all about the "homeless look" and aren't very concerned with actually dressing like an adult.🤔
So far I am happy with the holster. Very comfortable. Great review.
Ordered and received a Zero Carry Elite (The Vedder Holster I ordered two weeks ago for a different gun still hasn’t arrived) and I’m digging it. Holds tight, but draws cleanly and there’s literally no way to be thinner. Carrying a subcompact is like carrying nothing at all. I’m ordering another for a larger firearm.
I saw zero carry Segway not to carry while chambered. Did you see an issue with that while carrying?
@@jesusf.2450 Its been posted by Zero Carry's UA-cam that the firearm is still safe to carry chambered. I'm thinking its a liability thing. I just purchased one for my canik tp9 sf elite.
Thanks a lot for the in-depth review!
Raven Concealment Vanguard 2 Advanced Kit Inside the Waistband Holster
This is a superior version
Thanks for taking the time
I've got 4 for my various carry guns. All of them fit perfectly and work well (P365, GX4, Spectrum, LCPMax). You one complaint about 'no round in the chamber' is something more people than you know do regularly, like me. I'm fine (and never) carry with a round chambered.
This product is a 10/10 for me. All my other holsters are going in a box with the 'that one didn't work' experiments.
I carry the gun that has a reputation of "It just went off all by itself" (Sig P-320C .45). I use the Zero Carry Elite and carry with a round chambered every day, all day, without worry since the trigger is completely covered and the pistol stays put, however, I would never holster/re-holster with the holster in my pants. Take the holster off, put it on the gun, put the entire rig back in my pants. I do this with ANY striker-fired pistol and ANY minimalist holster.
@@DARTHDANSAN Many people buy a gun and a holster... then they put in a loaded magazine and rack the slide... and...
THINGS JUST GOT REAL!
Suddenly, they're not comfortable with that much reality in their waistband.
UPDATE after 18 months, but I only use this holster 10% of the time:
I was worried that the clip was fragile... but it's still intact and holds on to my belt securely. I was also concerned that the gun would shift out of the holster because the retention is just a small tab... but I no issues with that either. My opinion has not changed, this is a comfortable and totally viable way to carry.
I carry a Ruger Max 9 and I have a alien gear and versa carry holster but I always use the zero carry. The minimalist design is great and reduces printing much better. Reholstering isnt easy but in the grand scheme of CCW thats not an issue. If I pull it, I dont intend to put it away until im safe. Zero carry is awesome!
Most gun companies put do not carry with round in chamber in owners manual. I carry my lcp max in this holster the trigger is covered and the owner has videos out with him carrying chambered and shooting from drawing appendix
That 70's into has to go. But that content was a 10. You laid out the pros and cons as best as I could imagine it being done.
To carry a firearm without a round in the chamber is counter productive for the average pistol packer.
Unless you trained with the massad you are unlikly to ever gain the proficiency needed to offset the defeiciency of not have your gun ready.
If youve ever been on your back straddled by a meth head trying to stick you with a sharpend piece of rebar, you will rejoice in nowing that while your left arm was holding back the shank in the hand of your attacker, you right hand was all that was needed to draw and fire your weapon.
This holster is not injection molded. It is obviously 3D printed. And, since it is most likely made of ABS, the belt clip could be tightened using a heat gun and gentle pressure.
Thanks for the feedback. I stated that it appeared to be injection molded, as I wasn’t sure. As far as the belt clip, that’s a good tip. Although not sure people use a plastic belt clip hoping to spend more time with their heat gun. 😊
@Washburn From the surface texture of the plastic, and the fact that the holster's geometry would be impossible to make in one piece by injection molding. Even if it was made out of more than one piece and ultrasonically welded together, the tooling would cost over $100,000. Yeah, maybe I am a little smarter than you are.
@@sethgordon4473 ha ha because you know about 3d printing makes you smarter? Ha ha I was just asking because I truly didn't know. But I guess you like to flex. Cool dude. Carry on wayward son
@@920WASHBURN Just so you know, putting "smart guy" at the end of your post makes you sound like a smartass. Have a good one.
nice review! thanks a ton!
Hey man, great review. I have been carrying the Zero Carry with a Taurus GX4 for a few months now in the Florida summer heat, just wearing a t-shirt and shorts with virtually no printing. The clip is still tight like new. The the only issue has been crazy itching from Breakfree CLP seeping out and irritating the skin, despite lubing lightly. Wiping the side of the gun that touches with rubbing alcohol to remove the oil works okay but I’m going to try a non petroleum based lube to see if that helps. Thanks!
If you end up being satisfied with the results, come back and let everyone know what you used and how it works. Would recommend a short duration non petroleum test period of no more than 5 days. Even then, would not test it on a self defense tool you bet your life on. Just my $.02.
Do you carry it with a round in chamber ? Weird the holster tells you not to. I’ve been wanting one for p-10m
Great review, that clip will definitely become a problem.
Zero carry is great buy
maybe it could be totally converted just a pocket carry holster by removing the belt clip and the flap/wing thing.
for the 43' . just a idea....
Re: the belt clip. I’m thinking that when the belt clip wears out, some version of the Ulticlip could replace it. Just tonight’s two cents.
Apologies, this may get a bit long...
Preface: I don't carry a pocket-rocket, a mouse gun, a micro-nine, or even a subcompact. My smallest carry pistols are roughly the size of a Glock 19.
I have a laundry basket full of holsters that SUCK. They're uncomfortable or they print like a LaserJet with fresh ink. So, a little over a year ago I wondered if sometimes "less is more" and tried out some minimal holsters.
There are TWO that stand out from the rest and these are the ones I use most of the time:
1) Essential Holsters "naked holster". This one works really well and I have carried my Sig P-320C in .45 in it many times, comfortably and securely.
2) Zero Carry Elite: This one, while truly adding nothing to the thickness of the pistol, has a molded in 'wing' that pulls the grip in tight to your body. It conceals better than the Naked Holster, while having the same basic features. I see no issue with having a round in the chamber, but I don't re-holster with the rig in my pants (same with any minimalist holster).
Do NOT confuse the Zero Carry with the Versacarry 'zero-bulk' holster because those add width/thickness to the pistol, so... not zero-bulk at all... the name is a lie.
I prefer Essential Holster/ Naked Holster. Most comfortable and safest carry option for me.
RBB will be offering a review of the Essential Naked Holster in a few weeks!
I have used both for a while now. I prefer the sturdiness of the Naked Holster and the strength of the clip, but there's no denying that with the molded in 'wing' that pulls the grip in tight to your body, the Zero Carry Elite conceals a larger pistol much better (Sig P-320C in .45 ACP).
As you have probably heard, the P-320 shoots all by itself just laying on a table or in a holster (allegedly). I guess I like to live dangerously. I've been carrying the .45 version, loaded with 230 grain HSTs (which I DEFINITELY don't want to shoot myself with) in these minimalist holsters... round in the chamber... for over a year now without issues, but I won't re-holster with the rig in my pants either.
Many don't wear belt so the Ulticlip would be much better
Seems too expensive for what it is.
Are companies not allowed to make money anymore?? They're not there to get holsters to the world at a price that they break even on
The carry without a round in the chamber just sealed it for me! The holster is useless!!! Next
Scrap in the the barrel alone is a hard NO
Interesting. I’m pretty neutral on that aspect, if it is helpful to the overall function of the gun/holster system. Barrel spikes have been around in competition holsters for over 2 decades. Curious what the specific concerns would be.
It's plastic. Heat it and bend the clip. No?
What holster would you recommend?
That’s a really tough question to answer. Many variables. Would recommend looking over the series of and see what works for you. Sorry for the late reply.
Anyone carry with this holster while chambered?
Right I’m looking at this but the whole “ no carry with a round in chamber is “ no sale for me
So you’re recommending pulling the holster out of your pants to reinsert the pistol after it was drawn?
I've done it that way for about 30 years. Everyone has their own philosophy and preferences.
Maybe I missed it, but why would the company, as well as yourself make that recommendation ? In the event the “spike” may touch the round & push it back, inadvertently pushing onto the striker ? Idgi 🥴
@@bodegaboii bruh I ain’t never heard of zero carry before …. I ain’t fooling with it
Do they have these for Kel TEC p-11
www.zerocarry.com/compatibility: Looks like they are only making the Zero Carry Elite for the PF9 right now. But it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to the company and ask them to start with your preferred model. That’s how they typically know there is interest for it. Best wishes.
yeah. belt clip is the clear weak point.
2023 Money, not as good as 2013 Money.
Nice overview but man these do not look practical. How do you not burn your nuts at the range?
No one wants grilled junk!😊 If it’s that hot, I don’t want it anywhere near my body, front or back. The thermal properties of kydex and leather don’t prevent heat transfer very well. If you’ve shot that much in a short amount of time, might want to let the gun cool before you reholster. Is there something I’m missing?
I bought this holster recently. Just today I picked my gun up already in the holster and accidentally dropped it and the entire part where the "spike" is shattered.
While I like the holster and have ordered another one, I do think it's crazy charging 6 & 7 dollars just for shipping.
I ve had mine for a 2 weeks for my p-10m. Works amazing and yes I carry it with round in chamber ! No issues
