I just dealt with this exact issue on my car last week and it was a painful replacement. Of course the shop also realized the other side needed to be replaced as well, even more of a hit to the wallet! Lucky lady to have family that can swap those out for her.
I keep accusing these people of 'random acts of kindness and senseless act of decency'! Now the kids are running around acting that way all over the place. What next? Petting kittens? You people...
Little Azalia's pink face and smile popping up in the midst of heavy metals, strong hands and grease is so fresh!! Love those appearences *sorry guys*... makes me smile and babies always make my day :D :D Such a joy ! Thank you for this and all videos. Saluti from Sicilia x
We had to do my Jeep CVs and it took 2 jacks, a floor jack to lift the jeep and a spreader to get them out...lol Nasty work, but I live on a gravel/mud road... :D
Yep always a good idea to check both out. So was Gma out desert romping and that is how she broke both of them? It definitely saved her some money having the boys do the work. Good going guys.
With CV joints and front axle, I have found that if you replace one, you might want to change them both, as they have the same amount of wear / mileage. It does save you from a headache down the road.... Check them all if it is an all wheel drive. You may have to replace 4... God bless you and your loved ones Stay safe Godspeed
1:53 looks like you knocked the grease seal (the messy ring on the green part) out of the transaxle housing, hope you replaced it! Tip, when working on front suspension, put both sides of the car on jackstands, that way the sway bar and links won't be pushing and fighting you. Buyer beware on cheap complete axles. The price is attractive but the workmanship and materials inferior. I've tried a few brands and some were defective right out of the box. Now I only use OEM axles, and rebuild the originals with new boots wherever possible. Quality boot kits with grease bands and circlips wholesale for 17 bucks. Replacing CV boots is a valuable skill. The secret is in disassembling for a full cleaning, not leaving any grit anywhere inside. Then assemble it with just a thin film of assembly lube in all the racesand put most of the grease in the bottom of the joint, and some in the second pleat of the boot. Don't get any grease on the part between the big end of the boot and the joint before clamping, otherwise it will squirm and eventually work its way off in sharp turns. I wept for that axle getting cut in two. Once the strut is unbolted like that, you can usually plunge the inner joint enough to pull the splines out of the hub. With a new outer boot that axle would probably outlast the new aftermarket replacement. Save the other axle for a year or two, the car might need it. As for the sawed one, you might be able to adapt this to some machine or even art project you make in the future.
Oh to be young and still willing to do your own work on your cars........After 40 years of working on trucks and cars, mostly trucks, I gave up and found a young kid to do the grease work for me.
when you unhook from the Strut you have to reset the alignment. - Next time don't unless it's no way out of it.. - Hope you marked it and tryed to mount it back exactly.. before she buys tires again.. - have her computerize alignment done... especially if the tires wear wrong.
sigh.. Yah... I can even walk you through the whole HOW to computer alignment procedure - but the computers work different - per to the machines.. I was trained and doing the job.. then I was informed I had to go to college for 2 years to learn to do what took 3 cars for me to learn.
Every mechanic I know, and I go to the drag strip where A LOT of mechanics are... I ask them, if they were not a mechanic and wanted a car that would last a long time without having to pay for repairs often, without hesitation every one of them says get a Subaru. If something does break they are the easiest to fix yourself and don’t don’t break often.
I looked at the time length of the video and was bummed it was only 3 1/2 minutes. When I read the title however I was no longer surprised at the time since it's about something mechanical Garen and Bryson did together. The video is real-time isn't it? (Azalea is cute as always)
Hey Bryson how long should one shouldn't drive with a bad boot, but does, in the mountains no less???? No it's not me. I'm sure grandma feels much safer now, great job. peace
most misleading video. This job is far difficult. All steps skipped and ha ha grandma is happy...No compressing the coil spring ,no separation of control arm ball joint at lower end...Without this step,it is not possible to remove cv axle assembly and replace with new one....watch video "SUSPENSION REPAIR SUZUKI GRAND VITARA 2004(FRONT SUSPENSION) by Yuriy Sitov".....video has got all steps to remove cv axle assembly by using coil spring compressed by special tool....shown in video..easily available n cheap too.
Grandmothers greatly appreciate kind helpfulness from their grandchildren. You guys did great.

Yep. Parts. Ot that expensive it is the labor that hits you in the wallet

I noticed the CV axle boot on the car i just bought used, from a dealership, needs them replaced. Hopefully not bad, as i have all those tools myself.

nice shoes somebody shoulda mentioned it already
i hope locktight was involved in the process as ive been in a vehicle where axle bolts came loose. thanks for the videos
As long as the axle bolt gets torqued properly you’ll never have a problem, 😉
There is a web site called car parts where you can order on line and have your parts delivered to you by mail
easy peasy lemon squeezy :D
RIGHT WHY DIDNT YA JUST GET A BOOT ? GOOD JOB BOYS !
Bryson is such a cutie pie 😍
She must do some crazy 4wding to break cvs on stock height
How typical that the first side was such a bear and the second such a breeze.
always replace both side even if the other dosent need it makes it better in the long run
So you guys cut the old one out . How did the new one slide in? Did you gave to disconnect from control arm?
I just had the axle on my Subaru replaced about two weeks ago. Went in for an oil change and spent $435 for a new axle🙄
Good job guys. How long did it take ?
What brand are the axles. Looking for a set for my gv. Link to page would be even better. Thx great job dudes
I have the same problem on my Jeep, so you boys feel free to come do mine, okay? 😂
You raise some good kids Riverside good parenting at home to love you guys
I mean, if you're saving on the installation fees and everything, you MIGHT AS WELL get the top quality!

I use to Align Cars/ 4-wheelers/ tractors and Mowers - Using a piece of chalk, a Square and a Kite string.. LOL.. sigh...
I carry a Kite with me everywhere I go...
I wasn't even in School when I started the Fight...

I am changing the exact same thing. How did you fit in the passenger side axle?! We were able to get drivers side in no problem…. Please help😂😭😂😭
I think y’all should be sponsored by RA and make a live action version of their animated rock band commercials.
I sure wish there was two guys like y'all where I live. Women always get ripped off.
now the car needs a alinement if you would of took it apart at the lower balljoint and not the lower shock the car wouldn't need a alinement
Hi no friday video hope ur all doing good miss y’all
Hey Bryson how long should one shouldn't drive with a bad boot, but does, in the mountains no less???? No it's not me. I'm sure grandma feels much safer now, great job. peace

Hi guys glad to be the first comment thank yoi for these videos thare so fun and uplifting!
Don't see too many Suzuki's left on the road anymore
😇
😯👍👍👍👌♥️♥️♥️
If this video would have been managed in the right way people could use it as a tool to repair their Suzuki cars
Good job come do my car please lol
👍🏻💕😊
Not Axles !
No video today
They Just Don't show Good Video on exactly how The Driver Side Comes off from Wheel
I look at this knowing it could have been the bear. sometimes the bears wins but not today just saying
Buy Toyota's. 😃
Please do not leave the car cover on... it will damage the paint

Or, ha ha, stop talking.
Thanks.
Too many steps skipped.
