45 minutes = 3/4 of an hour. (3MPH)(3/4hour) = 2-1/4 miles.
0.75 MILES ON EVERY 15 MIN .SO 0.75X3=2.25 MILE
Solved in my head at the thumbnail, the answer is b) 2.25 mi.
If Ann walks 3 mph, she's walking 3/4 mile per 15 minutes.
Walking 45 minutes means she walked 9/4 mi, or 2 1/4 miles.
(3/60)*45=2.25. (3 miles per hour .by 60 min.- mph for 45 min = 2.25 miles covered.
Thanks for the easy explanation.
Greetings. The answer is 2.25 miles. Using D=VT and converting minutes to hours, we have
D, distance travelled equals, V, the velocity, rate of speed, times T, the time taken. That is
D=3(45/60) miles= 3(3/4) miles =9/4 miles = 2 and 1/4 miles=2.25 miles.
20 minutes per mile 40 minutes = 2 miles plus another 5 minutes = 1/4. Mile total 2.25 miles
Simple to define the miles per minute.
I divided 45 min by 60 min to get the percentage equals .75 or 75%. I then multiplied 3 mph by 75% and it equals 2.25 miles!
3 mph for 45 minutes is
3/1×3/4=9/4
=2.25
While there are different ways to do this obviously I just knew that 45 min is less than one hour, and 45/60 min gives me a percentage (75%) so we can multiply that by the average miles covered in an hour to get 2.25 ([45/60] x 3).
This actually involves a bit of physics, I.e unit conversion. If one does not know that 45min=3/4 of an hour, you’re stuck. But if one can go past this, it is actually easy. 3/4 * 3, the hours cancel out and one gets 2.25 miles. I would consider this as a gift to students to score some points in an exam. If I was a ‘mean’ teacher, I am not a teacher, I might make it 8 minutes and demand an answer in km. My usual gripe on these vids is, what grade is it aimed at? I’ll guess 5th?
Didn't need paper and certainly no calculator to solve this in my head: 3/4 hour x 3 miles/hour = 9/4 = 2¼ miles.
Always had to backtrack to show work in math classes, as the answers are often the only logical choice... 15 seconds WITH the double check! Have a great day fellow math savant! God bless.
Speed = distance/time to make units agree convert 45 minutes to hours which is 0.75 hours. 3mph= x miles/0.75 hours now cancel out units cross multiply to get 2.25
Certain numbers you see again and again become practically memorized. Three fourths of three or half of seven point five etc.
2.25
9/4 miles= 2and one quarter miles
Figured it out in my head in 10 seconds 😄
3 mph in 60 minutes
3/60=0.05 in 1 minute
0.05x45=2.25
Quick and dirty
3/4 of 3 = 9/4 = 2.25
More formally:
Rate = 3 mi/hr
Duration =45minutes
=45min × (1/60)hr/min
=9/12
=3/4 hr
Length of travel = V × T
V-elocity
T-ime
Here
V = 3mi/hr
T = 0.75hr
Distance = 3mi/hr × 0.75hr
= 2.25mi
A simple 'problem' to solve. :) 3/4 of 3 = 9/4 = 2.25
45 minutes is 3/4ths of an hour; 3/4*3=9/4=2.25.
1.5 miles in 30 min plus .75 for the next 25...half then half....2.25
3/60=0.05 miles in 1 min.
0.05x45=2.25 in 45 min.
How far would Ann have walked before you got the answer posted
got it 2.25 easy fraction 3/4 (of an hour) X 3 (miles) = 2.25 thanks for the fun
45/60 × 3 = 3/4 × 3 = 9/4 = 2.25 miles
45 minutes is 3/4 of an hour .. so we need to work out what 3/4 of 3 is.
1/4 of 3 is 3/4 so 3/4 of 3 is 2 1/4
Which is 2.25 Answer b)
3m/h=3/60 m/min=1/20m/min
1/20×45=2.25m
2.25
3/60 = x/45
60x = 135
X= 2.25
60 MIN =3 MILES AND 45 MIN=3/4 OF 60 MIN SO EVEREY 13 MIN =O.75 MILES
3 divided by 4 times by 3 = 2.25
When you were talking about the proportion, how did you come up with 5/10 out of blue?
b) 2.25
Another cream puff. Thanks Boss.
3/60x45
B 3 mph x .75 hrs =2.25 miles no paper or pen
3÷2 =1.50 ÷2 .75 + 1.50 = 2.25 B
45/60×3=2.25
3x45/60=2.25
2,25
B 2.25
2.75
Yep 2.25 miles.
B 2.25 miles
2.25 answer
2.25 miles.
2.25 miles
Nice
3 x .75
.75 x 3 = 2.25 Simple!
( b) 2.25 miles. @/3 of an hour x3 mph=. 3/4 x3 =9/4= 2/1/4 = 2.25. I think you complicated things with the use of minutes.

Too easy. 45 minutes is 3/4 (75%) of 1 hour. 3x.75=2.25. I can’t believe this is hard for some. What in the world are kids learning at school? How to hate and bully those who are “weak” and aren’t like you? No wonder we have trumpism… America is in serious decline.
