The 1st gen Vios I am amazed with its suspension ride comfort. Even until today, the used car price is still very very high. It was my dream car when I started work and is still is.
The first gen Vios 1.5 manual is fast and the digital speedometer is cool. I remember riding in my friends 1st gen Vios I did not expect it can reach 140 in contrary you can hear the engine is having a hard time.

Toyota Vios is becoming more beautiful. At the very begining I thought Vios could be small. But when my friend gets one and I try it, it is really good!

The front look busy to some but for me, it's not that bad. I have a feeling, Toyota will better that look by the end of this year. There is a reason why they made this car look very sporty. I am pretty sure the next facelift will be much better and clean look. That's how they sell.
My family currently own two second gen Vios and now we are doing paperwork for the new Vios with the e pack. I can't wait to see the difference from the generations
After discovered VW Vento 1.2, this B segment car is mind blowing and pricing is in the same band as vios and city, yes it got less bell and whistles than Japanese counterpart but the driving experience is unparalleled compare to others in B segment, it’s a driver’s car
I've updated the ECU from UMW service center for my 2NR-FE pot mated to a CVT (2017 Vios). It drives like it's on sports-mode all the time. The FC reduces around maybe 30KM but it's well worth the obnoxious delay in the throttle response department before the ECU update. I've driven the new one and experimented with the eco, normal and sports mode. That's what I got from it. P/S: I think I know the channel where you got your soundtrack from. :P
@@WapCar Nope! I've just emailed UMW regarding my issue with the throttle response and got their service FOC. Apparently they will only update when requested as most people will just brush it off and live with it.
My most favorite Toyota Vios is the Dugong model because to me, it looked a lot better than the 2013 model and its the nicest design of the Toyota Vios i've ever seen and when I looked at the dashboard of the Dugong Vios and the 2013 Vios, I liked the Dugong design more than the 2013 Vios
As an owner i would agree with this review. I definitely with you bout the position of the arm rest. The infotainment system that uses T-Link app is sucks and finally i hope the design of the steering could be more sporty to match the exterior..and yes, the usb at the back seat..other than i'm a happy owner.
Reliability is a main point. I been driving 3rd generation since 2014 without give me any problems. Everything is doing fine. But again cup holder is not enough and can't fit a larger one. Latest Vios is better in terms of safety but I don't like the latest Vios design especially in blue colour it's looks like plastic a lot.
For bulletproof reliability and comfortable ride, the New Vios is up there with the best in class, but performance and design wise, I've got to say it's out of its league in the B segment sedan given that the latest offering from Nissan & Honda beats it hands down. It feels dated compared to the 2.
For the looker,I like 1st gen and 3rd gen vios. But for powertrain,it was the latest dual vvti with cvt capture me more. I still remember how I got shocked with the 1st gen vios fuel consumption when I drove it in the last decade back.
"The Dougal", is that a reference to the dog on Magic Roundabout? My missus is just about to buy one (2008 - 1.5 E) with wider alloys and a touch screen music/AC/Sat-nav. In Thailand the Vios is the sedan, the Yaris is the hatch.
Though my brother owns the Duging Vios for some reason i have like the design of this Vios till this day though no doubt its bullet proof reliable and FC is out of this planet. I prefer the original way more
I still own a 2009 dugong, super reliable and FC is still better than the 2019 city which I recently purchased. Only drawbacks - car floating feeling when you push it above 140km/hr and it rolls quite badly around corners. Apart from that, no other complaints about dugong. 2019 City - handling stability and power delivery beat the dugong flat out.
the lastest vios really has the comfortable and reliable characteristic. too bad their driving position, interior design, doesn't resonance with spirited drive
Based on our test results cruising @ 110 km/h: Toyota Vios: 69 dB Proton Persona: 69.5 dB Honda City Hybrid: 70 dB Even if we're being purely subjective, the Vios is by far the quietest among the 3 😃
The Vento 1.2 TSI is a great car to have and comes with 3-Years free service.
