I'm glad you put in the other currencies as well as the Czech price. Just one note - in the US the decimal is a period, not a comma. So we would say $5.19 instead of $5,19 :)

hi Nash and Tereza...big fan of ur videos... those are very informative and interesting...the way u guys describe everything, it's just awesome, and gives a clear idea...I am from India, me and my husband will move to Brno sometimes in October or November... I have one request to you , that is if u can make video on the medical system in Czech Republic...like how to book an appointment , availablity of English speaking doctor, how to bye medicine over the counter, hospital services etc...I will be really great full if u give me an idea about it... thank you in advance...love you guys...
Hi there!glad our videos are helpful ☺️ we mentioned few things about medical system in our videos but we might plan a full video on that topic as well. Thank you for your input and hopefuly everything will work out for you well! ☺️
Hello from California! I love the Czech Republic. I was able to visit Prague back in 2016 for a short trip, and everyone there was very friendly. I love your guys' videos. They're so insightful. Yo, what's up with the gorilla-mom salad seasoning @ 4:30? Interesting marketing there.
@@NashTereza I dont wanna offend someone, (I guess Tereza is from Brno) but Brno is village stuck in ninetees compared to Prague. But I like it aswell, I really enjoy southern moravian region because of wine :). Moravian wine is one of the best in the world :)
I just stumbled upon your channel last week. It's GREAT! You might not have a huge following - YET - but keep it up, it will come! My husband is Czech and I am American - we are retiring there in a couple of years (early retirement). I love your content! You and Tereza are adorable and very likable. Please keep it up!
Hey there Cheryl, thank you a lot. It means a lot to us 😃. You will enjoy it here. We met also an American couple in Prague who retired from US to Karlovy Vary and they where saying how much they like it here. Thank you and we will keep creating more videos about life here 😊
Nash & Tereza you’re welcome! You are creating nice content and I appreciate it. Was wondering if you might think about making videos such as what it’s like to go to the doctor or dentist in Czech. I understand that you might not be able to film in the actual offices due to privacy issues, but perhaps you could explain how it works… I’ve heard many stories on ex-pat forums that doctors are rude and very abrupt with their patients. I’ve also heard that going to the dentist is less than pleasant in the Czech Republic compared to America. I don’t know if these are true stories or not… But it would be interesting to get your take on it.
Those ready made packed meals are something that is not really popular here. Czechs usually cook at home so they do not need it. So demand is low therefore the quality and taste of those meals is very poor especially compared to the countries like UK or the Netherlands where people are used to buy these product and I could not really tell the difference between those meals and home cooked ones when I was there. Also Pilsen is not the best beer by far. It is best known outside the Czech Republic and mostly overpriced the to the brand but you find much better beer in small local breweries that still make proper beer instead of mass produced "eurobeer".
So true, we do love the pre-made dumplings though as they are the hardest to make at home. We also are not a fans for ready made meals. We rather go pay a bit more for lunch menus if we do not want to cook (but that was a different story when we were students haha). I really like Pilsner when super cold or Lucky bastard from Brno that is superior. . . I did not find Pilsner outside Czech yet apart from import areas within supermarkets. Which beer do you recommend?
Pretty much anything unfiltered&unpasteurized which is harder to get in regular supermarkets because it needs to be stored in fridge and has much shorter shelf life but I know that for example Globus has several fridges with these ones in the beer section. They are usually sold in 0,7- 1 - 1,5l bottles. I like Sedlák or Sedláček (11/12) from Kroměříž. Pubs with their breweries often sell their beer bottled - I had really good beer in Hradec Králové at the main square.
If you taste apples in burčák, it is not burčák. It's just cheaper substitute. Burčák Is made only from grape juice. Bevouse it is very young vine at most active part of fermenration process. And in fact. True burčák is at his peak only few hours.
I personally like "hruškovice" (made from pears) from this company :) I go to a metal festival which takes place in the premises of that company every year and they always sell shots of hruškovice with pieces of pears in it, it's really good and it makes you drunk really fast :D but home-made slivovice is also always great :D
Hey i'll be moving to Brno in several months, are fruits and veggies available year around as in The USA supermarkets.... also, do you know if Celery is available?? Thanks in advance !!! BTW love your videos , super helpful!!!!
Hi Amit, glad you enjoy our videos 😃 The outdoor market is not open in Winter as they will set up Christmas markets which are even better. . . You can still find fruits and vegges in supermarkets but the quality is poor if i am honest (unless you go organic). Yes there is lots of celery. So no worries there.
Nash & Tereza i’m not sure how searching engings work, but i’m sure you can add more than one tags, including Czechia 🙃 But my comment was aiming more general, it would be nice to use correct name when you speak and so on. It just sounds silly to say just adjective. (In my opinion sound silly to use long political name as well, but ok, lets say its acceptable, but adjective? Eh..)
I think czech is OK. I'm czech and I say "it's from czech, i'm going to czech etc." It's basically a shortcut of Czech republic which is official and long and therefore not practical to use. Czechia is a new word invented mainly for Google reasons. As far as I can say it is not that much recognized in between people here. Some people say Česko, some even hate this Czechia word it feels strange and too eastern :) But we will see, language is changing, maybe the next generation will be ok with Czechia.
@@NashTereza I agree - Czechia has never really caught on and none of the locals I know and speak to regularly use it - ever. In fact, they don't like it.

Povidla arent berries. I dont know the exact english word, i think is Plum. Povidla is thing made from this fruit from tree, so isnt berry, is fruit
Peter GrayWolf Povidla are plum butter, yes made from plums that have been boiled down.
Povidla are powidl in english.
pilsner urquell is certainly not the best beer available. It is just high standard.
Whats your best beer?
Who eats processed food anymore
Almost everyone, processed does not mean a bad thing.
Tesco food is bad
