With how big of a celebration Tanabata is, they really should just make wish straps in Tanabata the equivalent of Red Dragon Stones in Anniversary They can totally put in some stronger characters with higher price, say AGL Dragon Fist requiring 3 wish straps
I went through this list of units looking at who I thought was worth taking in a character pool this mostly terrible and here are the units I settled on, did I miss any unit? Agl Golden Frieza Teq SSJ -> SSG Goku Agl SSJ Gotenks Int Android 16 Int Vados Int Zamasu Str Piccolo Phy SSJ Bardock
AGL Krillin, TUR TEQ Gohan & Piccolo, and TUR STR Frieza & Gohan could get an EZA during this Tanabata since they are a Universe Survival Saga unit We should wait for Part 2 then we can see which unit get an EZA. After that, we can use our Tanabata Wish Strips to a unit that got EZA during this Tanabata AGL Krillin didn't get an EZA during 9th Anniversary even though he is on the banner, so he must be get his EZA this time during this Tanabata
This feels like it’s for new players, you could grab INT Vados and INT 16, AGL Golden Frieza and AGL Cell Jr., TEQ God Goku, PHY Gowasu and Zamasu are all decent options for someone who needs a competent character like you’re saying and they will usually not be featured so it can be difficult to obtain them while they’re relevant. Yes the list needs to be trimmed to like 1/10 of its size and then add newer characters that you can really use but these strips aren’t completely pointless imo
I think we can expect TOP Gohan and Frieza/Piccolo eza but except expectations I think Bardock and Gine are solid, Gotens (I guess), and Vegeta. Broly and Paragus aren't bad too.

Honestly if you don't have Frieza & Gohan or Gohan & Piccolo with at least 2 dupes then you might as well. They've been doing ToP very solid so there's a lot of hope for they're sub eza's to be relevant. There's not a whole lot to miss out here as well so even if they're eza's aren't great it would just kinda suck but whatever.

You have to super attack him 12 times and kill him within the first 2 turns, and no it’s not a skill issue that you haven’t reached the Ui stage yet, I haven’t either and I’m sure most people also didn’t, the condition for Ui sign just sucks universal ass
If you got Teq Caulifla, Str Kale, Str Kefla and LR Agl Caulifla &Kale (reaverse them to tur so they don't deplete godku health fast) with Agl Kale lead you should get the 12 supers and make sure to kill phase 2 goku to get UI.

It would cause a shit storm for several reasons if they put a recently released unit in this pool to pick from based on their performance, it would send a VERY BAD MESSAGE. So we know they plan out things MONTHS In advance and I'm gonna assume the wish strip pool is included in that. So if they intentionally designed a unit that wasn't that good and because he wasn't that good he was ok able to be picked with wish strips. Imagine the amount of people who would be pissed that they knew they designed a shit unit with the intentions of putting them in the wish strip pull. That would be horrible and break the illusion for a lot of people that dokkan devs make units' kits with no bias
