Love how you didn't show Han solo cause he was one of the cliffhangers in Empire
EXACTLY. some people are mad hes not in it.. Im like dude are you even a fan?
@@ADedits9 I've been a Han Solo fan since 1977. NO, he's not in this trailer. And I am glad you didn't do a "Homer Simpson" when he walked past the 1980 long line and said aloud: "I can't believe Darth Vader is Luke's father."
You know a movie is magical when a fanmade trailer for it makes you feel chills despite having already seen it hundreds of times.
@@geekerrant7242 true, it is why we love a good story, THIS...Lucas did good on that, ancient stuff
I watched it last night on the big screen. There are definitely times when it looks like a 40 year old movie, but the heart of it is still as strong as ever. I took my 12 year old son, he'd never seen it, and he loved it. That's all that matters.
@@michaeldemocko443Thanks for the heads-up! Now I know that I need to sit through Jedi Rocks in 4K with surround sound 💀 Very excited to see ROTJ in theaters though! I'm going with my girlfriend and her sister who hasn't seen this one yet (has seen IV and V) today and then with a good friend of mine for Star Wars Day on the 4th. We're going in Jedi robes hahaha
Saw it last night on a big PLF screen Awesome. The practical effects hold up even today. The ones that look dated are the ones Lucas added for the Special Edition rerelease.
The ending celebration music in this movie is so underrated, and it was so cool to hear it dramatized for this trailer
That choral and orchestral rendition of the end celebration theme was so good holy shit.
Love it bro, I like how you kept a lot of mystery but managed to make it feel like a celebration…. It’s a nice blend ❤️💚
Your track is class man! Gotta trust your judgement ;) It was an interesting edit. It was all spoilers at first but then I am like the track feels grandios enough to be an official spoiler free vibe.. So I went with that and it seems to be pretty solid I hope haha.
@@ADedits9 yea I really like it… I’m sure a spoiler trailer would have been a lot easier to edit so fair play for challenging yourself 👊🏼
@@EpicTrailerMusicUK Cant be done without you dude. you're the YIN to my creative YANG. Please dont leave me lol ;)
I went to watch this in theaters for their anniversary re-release. And my god what a feeling it was to watch such a defining movie in theaters like the way it was nearly 40 years ago. Spectacular experience. Makes me appreciate this franchise more and more with every new and old piece of content
@@RockLeeOfTheMounties yeah I know it's technically like the 3rd or 4th remastered version. But still. The foundational feeling was still there
The new stuff is absolute garbage.. Don't lie to yourself, or be willfully ignorant.
@@jackhammer0101 what new stuff? I thought the last star wars movie was Rogue One?
Amazing. Brought tears to my eyes. I was lucky enough as a kid to see the remastered original trilogy with my dad and brother. If the trailer back then was this...holy crap it would have been insane.
AD I hope one day a major film franchise notices you. Your ability to tell a story without saying much is truly breath taking. You’re an artist, my friend. I’ve been here for years and I’ll never leave ❤
His ability to tell a story is insignificant compared to the power of the Force.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen RotJ and this Modern Trailer absolutely gave me goose bumps and all the feels. May the 4th be with you AD!
I remember watching this film with my late father, when that celebration music kicks in...... I wasn't ready for it.......thank you for this
Saw ROTJ last night at a theater in Hollywood; what an incredible experience it was! Never thought I’d ever have the opportunity of seeing my favorite Star Wars film on the big screen and lemme tell ya it brought tears to my eyes!
@@mishynaofficial yeah it was pretty awesome. I hope I get to experience more of my favorite old movies in theaters!
You did something I imagined they should have done to introduce Episode 7, the Endor Celebration Theme!! This theme is criminally underrated, underused and under appreciated! I literally got goosebumps and chills. It is such a fitting theme for not only Episode 6, but they could have used it throughout the sequel trilogy, or at least for the beginning of Episode 7 (orchestral version). Anyway, thank you very much for this and your understanding of proper Star Wars storytelling, and your recognition of important Star Wars themes!!
Many Bothans died to bring us this trailer
Great anniversary trailer Alex 🥳👍
The Emperors' voice is still so chilling. GOOSEBUMPS
This movie is slowly re-becoming my favorite Star Wars film. It just means so much. I’ve seen it a dozen times, and this still got me hype AF. Congrats on a great job!
Empire got all the buzz because of the big reveal, but I always liked Return more.
epic. i saw it in theater alone last night and cried more than i thought i would. this story is more than just a fictional movie.
Its been decades since I watched this a thousand times as a boy...would mime quietly word for word, and it never got old or dull. Might be time to watch it again. Especially after this amazing new trailer.
Jesus the Victory Celebration was absolutely perfect for the tone of the trailer! Well done!!
Wow... You’re a genius. Brought me right back to the early 2000’s.
That victory music always moves me to tears. So beautifully composed. It’s essence of joy.
No Han Solo = A++ move. Very clever.
trying very hard right now not to cry cause this was mine and my mom's favorite movie of the original trilogy. this year marked the 40th anniversary of this movie and this month also marked 2 years since we lost her to cancer. she would have loved this trailer you did. thank you, brother.
1:09 that music cue is from the ending of ROTJ. Gave me absolute chills when I recognized it here
This was brilliant. Thank you for making it. I especially appreciated the attention to detail in using the Special Edition Celebration theme as the theme for the trailer, a nice use of foreshadowing the conclusion to the story, and I also also appreciated that you deliberately chose not to reveal the fate of Han Solo. Perfect. Thank you. 🐾
I saw the original release with my dad and 2 brothers. It was such an amazing movie for a 9 year old. Thanks dad, for the life-long memory.
LOVED how you made it seem like Luke was training with Vader! Makes me wonder how that dynamic would actually look like
I'm 46 years old and the first time I saw Star Wars was in my country in a big arena they had a big projector and you could watch it at night outside... I have never forgotten that feeling, thank you for the reminder
Glad you’re feeling better and feeling and once again an excellent trailer! I love how this entire compilation’s music was an epic version of the new ewok song. That was brilliant!! Very well done.
40 años?? Que rápido pasa el tiempo fué como si hubiese sido ayer que fui al cine a ver esta gran película 🎥 que nostalgia Dios mio 😢
Great work.
I know that for some, this is their least favourite of the Trilogy, but I love it above all others.
It shows, for the first time, Luke as the absolute badass he was becoming, far away from the whiny but likeable farm boy we first met. His titanic courage in willingly facing both his father and Sidious, knowing it would most likely be a one-way trip, is truly inspiring.
It shows the triumphant return, brief and bittersweet though it was, of Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight, as he finally destroys the hated Emperor.
Ok, ok, and we get to see the beautiful Carrie Fisher ( rest in peace, dear Princess.) not wearing very much.
Long live "Return of tge Jedi!"
It's my favorite Star Wars movie if you ask me, and my Great Uncle's favorite too, Victory Celebration theme it's his favorite Star Wars and he downloaded it, I love the Battle of Endor in Space, all the action scenes, Luke vs Vader and especially their dialogues along with the Emperor.
Same, and I love Jabba palace stuff, and Dagobah, and Endor, and AT-ST, and C3PO telling Star Wars…
Ah to be 16 again in 1983, waiting in line for the midnight showing at the Beaver Valley 6 cinemas with my best friend and Dad- he was a huge Star Wars fan, too. The gasps and the cheers and the tears in that theater will never be forgotten! Good job!
the piano star wars theme at the end really hit the feels
Great job, editing this trailer.
Made me want to watch the movie again. You really can't deny the effect the OT Star Wars trilogy had.
The wonder, suspense and emotions these movies gives, is beyond anything Disney's Star Wars ever managed.
Takes me back to the good days back when I was a kid. Times are different now. The fact that Disney isn’t even promoting the 40th anniversary is just sad though, how could it have come to this?
They literally are promoting it by re-releasing it.
And just between you and me… this movie isn’t even HALF as good as the first 2 movies.
@@MediaLoverChris02 I didn't even know this was in theaters right now until Star Wars Theory's stream last night! Speak for yourself! This is my favorite movie out of the entire franchise! It's especially better than any new Star Wars being released today!
@@MediaLoverChris02 Ill agree with empire but idk about a new hope, ROTJ has much higher highs, but also lower lows. ANH is the better movie, but ROTJ is right with it at this point.
@@barkley8285 A New Hope (Star Wars) is perfect. It’s a movie that builds with every scene.
Return of the Jedi is absolutely FUCKED when it comes to pacing and structure, beginning with a half hour MINI MOVIE at Jabba’s Palace, then they go to Endor where the plot comes to a complete stop so they can stay with some annoying-ass teddy bears, and then there’s a few interesting minutes at the end.
@@darthnutsack6717 Return of the Jedi is one of the worst in the franchise. Even the Prequels may be better.
I mean it’s a FACT (not an opinion) that it’s the worst of the Original Trilogy.
Love love love the remixed music you chose for this. Awesome work!
may the force be with you always
Damn onion ninjas attacking my eyes 👏💚 Amazing Alex! My first Star War's movie I seen, This was beautiful dude ⚡🤘
"Comes to an end" - Nice touch.
I love these movies so much. Every time I see one of your trailers I tear up.
I'm generally not a fan of most modern trailers, but this brought a couple of tears to my eyes! When Star Wars (well, Hollywood in general) was still good. Really, really good! Thank you, well done!
What an epic movie.
The choice of Williams' ROTJ themes is genius. Got teary eyes.
Today was my first time seeing ROTJ in theaters cause I was only 1yo when it came out in 83, and I was so glad I went and took my kids to see it!
I hope it's a memory they never forget!
I got chills watching the final LS fight between Luke and Vader!
I love this trailer, standing ovation! 🙌
This may be my favourite one of yours yet. Wow, just…. Wow. So beautiful. I love your use of music in particular. So beautiful!!!
Took me a few seconds to realise that was Victory Celebration. What a fantastic use of that wonderful music
a really beautiful tribute to the anniversary of this masterpiece. Plus the music from the victory celebration. Simply perfect. Thank you.
ok, ok, the music made it AMAZING
The music took me a second to recognize but using a variation on the Celebration theme... just excellent!
Star Wars has shown me Honor, Destiny, and the true meaning of the Force. Thank you for this tribute. May the 4th be with us and happy 40th anniversary for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Very nice, honestly may be the best one yet. FANTASTIC job with collab/music of the trailer...wow! I went to my theater yesterday night to celebrate, going again tomorrow :3
Thanks @AD_edits
Whew!
I saw it as a kid when it came out and have always loved it; you really managed to do it justice here.
That was amazing! A great trailer for my favorite Star Wars film!
I’m going to the anniversary showing on Monday. Very excited!
This is fantasticly well done 😁 Well played man, well played. 👏
god this is such a good trailer remake. It actually gave me chills, I’ve seen the movie a million times, and the fact that you used the finale celebration song (a remix of it at least) makes it so much better
this makes me cry, i hate you, is so beautiful, the music, that version of the celebation ending is amazing.
Always a BANGER!!!!!!!!!
I always love it when the trailers end with the quiet piano version of the main theme
Watching this I was transported back to May 25th, 1983. Was first in line to see Return of the Jedi. Got there at 6am. Theater didn’t open until 11. It was damn well worth the wait.
Got to watch this in theaters for the first time last night. It was an amazing experience
This is absolutely perfect. I wish this was the official trailer. Love how it didn’t show Han or Palpatine either…and it still was epic.
Love the new version of the Ewok Celebration music
That was great! I like how there were no spoilers, it makes the trailer seem more real. Great job!!
May the Force be with you!
I'm a simple man. I see Return of the Jedi, I click like.
Now THAT is brilliantly put together
Brilliantly done.
Such a masterpiece
I would have SEEN THIS and I was at the midnight madness that was opening day at the Egyptian theatre. I am also a member of the BLUE HARVEST GANG (the San Diego fans who saw the entire Sarlacc shoot, we spent more time in the desert than Erwin Rommel and LFL just did a tribute to all of us at Celebration London -- I know, I can't believe it either, please don't do the math, thank you ... and thank you so VERY much for remembering us, we can't believe it.) You did an incredible job on this trailer. I'm just going to pretend I saw THIS version.

Right on time because they’re re-releasing Episode 6 back in theaters this week

That is a really amazing trailer. Thank you so much ❤❤❤
This was one of the best fan edits I have seen.
Wonderful! You put that together very well🙌
convinced me to watch the movie once more
Casi me cae una lágrima, al pensar que han pasado, tan rápido, 40 años...
Name of the rendition you put in the trailer. Definitely awesome. Well done on the trailer.
best part about this is that you left out all of the best bits and didn't give us THE WHOLE MOVIE in two minutes. you even left out HAN! And the Second Death Star! Excellent work! No sarlac either! This is how trailers are supposed to be made.
I truly wish that all film trailers had the same restraint, and were assembled with the same talent. I admire your work, keep it up!
Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. I was very lucky to get to go and watch Return of the Jedi in cinemas for the 40th anniversary and it was fantastic to see and experience on the big screen.
Going to go see this movie with my dad today, can’t wait
Saw this on a Sunday afternoon at Hoyts Regent, Brisbane, back in 1983.
Was magic.

Should have ended it with another mini scene with Jabba saying, "I like Captain Solo where he is" then pan to the shot of Han Solo still in carbonite.
This was incredible man, I’ve seen this movie easily over 30 times and this trailer made me have the feeling like I’ve never even seen it before. Incredible work!, I gotta go rewatch ROTJ

A good cut. There is ONE CHANGE I would suggest. The first shot of Boba Fett, put him when he's giving the nod to Bosch instead of flirting with the girls. Build on his mystique and toughness. The flirt is an emotional tempo offset at that moment in the trailer and I feel lessens his "cool factor" when I finally see him again taking aim. Just my two bits....all in all a good clipping :D
