Thank you for making this video . I was looking all over UA-cam for a video on the sprocket 200 vs hp sprocket plus . As I'm looking to purchase one . I like the look more of the old one . I do love the new light feature that you can customise on the new one . I love how the old one has the big HP on it . (How can people not like that) Thank you for making this video . 🖱📲🗾🎆🌃🏙
Thanks for the video!! I was looking for a comparison between the 1st and the 2nd edition and I found your video! I just bought the 2nd edition and I cant wait to use it!

I had recently purchased my HP Sprocket 200 and now I am currently experiencing problems with the print quality just after three uses. I noticed after printing out some photos have red spots or blotches on them. I am worried this will be an ongoing problem whenever I print something from my HP Sprocket and I don’t know what’s causing that problem and I need help. 😥
On a Mac, you can connect the Sprocket over Bluetooth and then send images (PNG, JPG, GIF) to the Sprocket using the Mac’s Bluetooth menu. This is my preferred way of using my Sprocket. I haven’t found it possible to do it with Windows.
So pretty much, a little bit of heat and these images get ruined? I was looking for a cheap alternative to printing out tiny stickers for toy / action figure customization. I guess there's just no cheap alternative to hiring someone to use their vinyl sticker printer. i think?
thanks so much for sharing this video.. I''m so late to the game of mini printers, haha.. but you inspired me to go ahead and buy my first :)! I can't wait to create a wall piece. Thanks again!
It pauses after about 4-5 photos, and continually warms and cools. A pack of photos will take a while to come out, but you don't have to do anything but wait. It's still pretty good on printing.
I"m having a hard time gauging the print quality of the photos, could you theoretically print a word/office document on this and still be able to read it with good vision?
@@geekazine thanks, I just have a habit of pushing hardware to its limits when using it for things just outside of intended purposes. I might just pick one of these up afterall!
I have not had a chance to look at the Sprocket Plus yet. If you need something really portable, the 2nd ed. might be the best choice. #Thanks for the question.
@@geekazine No, the Plus bumps the size only slightly ... .3 more on one print side and .4 on the other I think. I am mainly wonder if it does anything to help print quality. I have original Sprocket, for which color is pretty dull. I see someone corrected that the Sprocket 2nd Gen doesn't improve on dpi. Frustrating that all 3 versions are still out there in the stores. Confusing to assess differences, other than of course the price differences.

Thats what i thought too! I like the HP logo
This was a really well-done and informative review. I feel like I can make a better purchase decision now. Thank you!

Good to know!
So both editions use the same app (and thus the same features like stickers)?

Yes, it's a thermal printer. If you want to print out something that will not fade due to heat, then print them on an inkjet using sticker paper.
Both first and second editions have the same print resolution of 313x400 dpi listed on HP website.
OK. Good to note.
Would you say it's a big difference

You can do it!
If I used the picture to put on my phone case would the regular daily heat or my iPhone heat ruin the image ?
Lots of wear and tear, here. Heat can be a factor, but your hand will most likely be the biggest factor in the print fading.
Thank you so much for this very informative video. I'll be purchasing this printer. Can't wait!
Let me know how it goes!
I purchased this printer and absolutely love it! Thank you again for the great video.
About how many photos can you print before it overheats and then how long for it to cool down enough to restart printing?
It pauses after about 4-5 photos, and continually warms and cools. A pack of photos will take a while to come out, but you don't have to do anything but wait. It's still pretty good on printing.
I couldn’t find the papers on amazon can u send me a link of the papers plz !! I need it thanks

That is not what the Sprocket is for. The quality is fairly good. Text in photos comes out fine.
@@geekazine thanks, I just have a habit of pushing hardware to its limits when using it for things just outside of intended purposes. I might just pick one of these up afterall!
I will totally check this out
Let me know what you think!
@@geekazine I love it, it is very helpful especially when I travel
thanks for this amazing info - what printer do you suggest for small prints but from my dslr ?
You can use the Sprocket. I have brought photos in through dropbox to print to it. #Thanks for the question
The orange light in the back won’t turn off. What should I do?
Talk with HP. Is it printing at all? #thanks for the question!
Geekazine yes it’s printing but when I turn it off the orange light is still on, but then it eventually goes off.
The previous design (especially the Red) looks WAY better
That's the best part - you can make it look the way you want with stickers! #thanks for the comment!
@@geekazine Prefer the old one
Great review thanks
you're welcome
Got 1 delivered today for around $35👌
Sounds good! What do you think of it?
which to get?
2nd edition or sprocket plus?
I have not had a chance to look at the Sprocket Plus yet. If you need something really portable, the 2nd ed. might be the best choice. #Thanks for the question.
Do you have to connect to the GPS?
Hi is there a new review on t newer version too? Greets
How where you able to print one picture on multiple pages?
It's in the app
Can it print from a canon or nikon camera
If you bring the photos over to your mobile device.
Do NOT get the 2nd edition, I got mine today and it’s bad. I printed multiple photos that had different colours involved, and the quality was trash.
Have you talked to HP first? I don't have that problem.
Geekazine what do you mean? The printer made everything dull, and kinda blended all the shadows together
Is this the same paper size as the previous one? - photo looked bigger on the new one.
Same paper.
It's the same 2''x3''
This printer is made for Smartphones, you want good DSLR camera photos you dont use this.
If you want to print on the fly, and have the Sprocket around, you CAN import the photos to print. #thanks for rthe comment.
Awesome!
Yes, it is.
Is it better than the Polaroid zip printer?
+Sally Eli I've never used the zip printer. I believe the same paper can be used, though
please do a New Sprocket VS Sprocket Plus
Um... that's what I did, kinda.
no I meant the Sprocket PLUS.... 2nd edition Sprocket versus Sprocket PLUS.. you only did for the 1st edition versus 2nd edition.
I'll check with HP for a review unit, but the Plus is most likely a Sprocket 1 that can take 5x7 paper.

@@SandiDandiLand the sprocket plus has 330x600dpi and the sprocket 2nd has 313x400dpi
How much is the paper tho?
I can get paper for about $5 for 20 sheets.
Hi! Could you share the link to these print paper refills? I cannot find price this cheap. Thanks!@@geekazine
