Thx Jason. You're still the GOAT astronomy prof.

Would a dead pulsar mimic a stellar mass blackhole?

The strong gravitational attraction of the BH ensures nothing gets out, not even light. So, what is the mechanism of the various things that are given out, like Hawking radiation, jets and god knows what else?

@@sonarbangla8711 all the emission that is talked about in this video is produced by the matter that hasn't fallen into the BH, but is rather orbiting around it, like planets orbit around the sun a strong gravity well doesn't make fall everything in a straight line, but rather the trayectory of the bodies depend on the distance to the gravity well and their speed, basically all the matter that is emitting is orbiting the BH because it has enough speed to go around it instead of falling (just like planets around the sun), the only difference is that BH being so small the speeds that the matter needs to orbit is close to light speed, so the ones that manage to orbit are incredibly energetic so emit radiation like crazy.

The fewer artsts pictures the better. Those were terrible, they didnt even have the recent update from kip thornes movie project.
