The Trojan horse was presented to the city of Troy as an offering to Athena / Minerva that would make Troy impregnable. So the horse is basically a fake offering to Athena / Minerva the bully and leads to the downfall of the people worshipping her. But generally in Greek mythology, everything is connected to everything and everybody has slept with each other so I would take it with a grain of salt ;)

This is really high quality video only able to watch in jolly. Awsome video. (I'm studying english now, I try to translate but It might be not exact mean. In the last scene where they’re wearing Hanbok there are also Trojan horses with a map of the world in the background. I’m not smart enough to know what the symbolism to that is but I know there’s something more meaningful there. Maybe cos they’re wearing Hanbok, Koreans have snuck into the eyes of the rest of the world through the Trojan horses and now everyone knows about South Korea (for example Kpop, Kdramas, the culture etc)
The Trojan horse could also be seen quite unassuming like the story goes which is why few years back, people weren’t even phased by South Korean culture. But now, we’ve got all these talented artists dominating the entertainment scene left and right (stream svt). KPOP was unassuming until they brought out the full force. The real deal.
@@coffeejoah imo the trojan horse analogy still applies even now, bc like you said sometimes it feels like no one knows about korea or kpop at all in everyday life but in the bigger picture they're literally everywhere, tbh it's exciting having this underdog kind of power all the time even just as a fan
Maybe the Troian horse represents that those who are enjoying the music video (here: the Trojan Horse) are the ones who should actually be destroyed by it. But who should be destroyed/defeated? Maybe a bad lover, maybe the media or maybe the haters. The video can be interpreted in so many ways.
We need a new series with Victoria just going over some of the previously covered kpop videos for an in depth analysis because there are some deep meanings that I think Jolly and Chris have only barely touched the surface of for many videos such as On or Kill this Love.

I remember how many haters complained that this song has no meaning😂 But every scene and shot in this mv is deeper than the meaning of the haters lives
I honestly didn't also understand what that line meant but later on, i thought of maybe since they showed their haters that even if they brought bp down, bp still became successful then the line "look up in the sky it's a bird it's plane" may be "look at us... we're still flying even if you bring us down.

This is the most amazing analysis I've ever seen of anything. She deserves an extra degree for this, and the variety and open minded, inclusive, accepting nature of this is fantastic
The points brought on by Rev.Chris' sister, the classicist Victoria, were actually spot-on. In addition to those points, not only do I think that Blackpink is trying to get the haters to look in the mirror (not out of spite), however I also think this is sort of a signal by the girl group that they want to overcome negativity in general from all sources. Meaning, that includes their own company. Unlike many other girl groups, even in their rookie era, it took Blackpink unusually long to comeback (when in fact, they are from one of the largest Korean Entertainment companies). In a statistical comparison, many other girl groups have made comebacks within a couple of months, while Blackpink were and still are on peculiar hiatuses that span to entire years. With this music video, I think the girls were trying to convey how they were trapped, died and then resurrected (metaphorically and spiritually speaking). Initially in all sorts of dark places, they seemed lost and alone, but then they begin to shift with the seasons and transformed themselves accordingly into more powerful and confident selves. From a biblical perspective, I am referring to becoming one's true self, a person with godly character as God made us. And in this video, the girls were depicted as godly figures, in other words these girls changed up their game along with the change of scenery and thus became goddesses of their own reality. Blackpink, truthfully speaking, has a lot of genuine talent. These girls trained for a long time, and already displayed these talents even before they auditioned for their current company, and this is the objective truth. On that note, a specific flower can only truly flourish in a specific environment. We're all flowers in that sense (including Blackpink), and although surviving in a toxic environment is one thing, prospering in a truly loving environment is another matter of itself. Another point that this Blackpink music video was trying to express, is this: Do not become part of the problem, instead, add to the prosperity of not just your own life but everyone else's who truly wants to see this world change for the better as well (nearing the end, the girls were rallying together with all the dancers, displaying solidarity and determination to see a better world / make a better reality). My last entry of this comment, but definitely not the least important (I believe none of these points were), is that this video also serves as a major headline to all the women out there being abused, manipulated and pressured with unnecessary pain, turmoil and suffering. This sort of tragic and terrible tale mostly ends up with either more helpless victims, more fragile perpetrators (victims becoming the bullies), but also a significant portion of people that want to end such a cycle. Korea, with all its authentic beauty, is a clear representation of just the kind of problems that many other nations also carry. Poor treatment of their own people, both men and definitely women, for centuries prior to this current generation. With the discoveries made through recent years' worth of legal cases as well as heartbreaking deaths, Korea will need to question the way things have been operating, and this is a fate that no human nation can avoid. Nonetheless, like Rev.Chris said (and I believe it's a statement from Higher Power), this current generation is making more headway for the better world that we all deserve. To whoever read this far, a sincere thank you. P.s: PLEASE. BRING. VICTORIA, WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE SIBLING DYNAMIC :D
I think putting the Trojan horses at the end was not really meant to symbolize trickery and betrayal. With the world map painted on the ceiling where they were dancing while wearing Hanbok, I'm thinking that despite what they've been through, they will the "conquerors". They conquered their difficulties and are very proud to be Koreans.
@@laiamparo1825 and also Lisa has a traditional Thai skirt on her and her top is a modern Hanbok in that scene which means she is really proud to be a pure Thai and even shes not Korean... Awsome video.

Darleny Fernandez what what?
In the last scene where they’re wearing Hanbok there are also Trojan horses with a map of the world in the background. I’m not smart enough to know what the symbolism to that is but I know there’s something more meaningful there.
Maybe cos they’re wearing Hanbok, Koreans have snuck into the eyes of the rest of the world through the Trojan horses and now everyone knows about South Korea (for example Kpop, Kdramas, the culture etc)
I agree, I bet with that huge summary from Rev Chris’s sister, they didn’t cover all that she typed, the video might’ve been too long
The Trojan horse could also be seen quite unassuming like the story goes which is why few years back, people weren’t even phased by South Korean culture.
Someone said they only wore hanbok because they thought it would look good, nothing else

These girls trained for a long time, and already displayed these talents even before they auditioned for their current company,
and this is the objective truth.
On that note, a specific flower can only truly flourish in a specific environment.
We're all flowers in that sense (including Blackpink), and although surviving in a toxic environment is one thing, prospering in a truly loving environment is another matter of itself.
Another point that this Blackpink music video was trying to express, is this:
Do not become part of the problem, instead, add to the prosperity of not just your own life but everyone else's who truly wants to see this world change for the better as well (nearing the end, the girls were rallying together with all the dancers, displaying solidarity and determination to see a better world / make a better reality).
P.s:
PLEASE. BRING. VICTORIA, WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE SIBLING DYNAMIC :D

VICTORIA DID NOT POINT OUT THE TROJAN HORSE WHICH WAS THE MOST OBVIOUS SYMBOLISM OF TRICKERY AND BETRAYAL! 😭
IntrovertTaciturn I think she might have done that since it is so obvious, but video is cut short. I seriously want to read the whole paper 😕

This is BlackPink!’
뿐 아니라 잘안알아보고 떠들어댔던 lazy jennie(ㅋㅋ 이건 진짜 말도안되는 사건 최근 광고도 깁스한채로 찍었는데 영상몇개만찾아봐도 될것을), 최근 리사사건들...
You Know? This is K-PoP, BlackPink!
Ohhh i did'nt know that the mv's story of HYLT was related to acient greek story because the theme is finding the light and stand up yourself to break darkness and toxic negativities around them and i'm impressed that the priest sister made a thesis about Blackpink's MV nice one👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you Ollie for the LIKE 👍🏽🥰
The purity and innocence of this channel is honestly the most refreshing part of 2020.
Chris' parents really have good genes, one of their children is a hot priest, another works for the military, and another one has double first from Cambridge, gosh I wish i've got their DNA XD
💜 that’s for sure parenting and not their genes 🧬
healer solder leader wow where is the tank
what's a double first
@@엘사-g2g I have the same question
@@엘사-g2g First-class honours degree (which is really hard to get in university, not to mention in Cambridge) in two subjects (even tougher...)
Rev. Chris and Victoria would make an unstoppable duo with their vast knowledge and wisdom. If you can manage to get both of them with you guys for another music vid reaction, I'd literally re-watch that video again and again until your next upload lmaoooo.
If anyone is doing a film study project in English class, use Victoria’s theory with this music video and you’ll be sure to get a high grade 😂 just don’t make it too similar 😉

@@MagicalKid thank you for correcting me❤️
I literally cried when he said that I don’t know why
@@grungekookie3298 the words hit hard
Honestly I feel like Victoria and Chris would have a field day on Blood Sweat and Tears
I was about to comment this when I found your this needs to happen
im still hopeful that they will react to the mv 😭😭
Yes!!! Yes!!! Josh and Ollie, please make this happen!!
Yes!! React to Blood Sweat and Tears by BTS please!!
This needs to happen
Lee siblings as role-playing game characters:
Victoria - Lore bard, obvs
Charles - Ranged dps, heavy artillery
Chris - Melee cleric, gotta smash stuff (with some healing on the side)
The diversity in their careers though... Woaaaah
(As an Asian kid, can't relate)
I support this assessment.
Now I can’t watch Blackpinks HYLT without these interpretations swirling in my head that lawyer is a genius for interpreting that!!!
can we get Victoria to analyze more mvs ? Like EXO's has so much theories on them, can she analyze some ??
Is there any way she could actually be on the video doing her analysis? Make this happen.
we need her to have her own analysis theory series
She'll have to spend a whole day watching EXO from ther teaser videos, mvs, teasers, pathcodes, VCRs, performances and all because everything have meanings hahahahahaha.
Josh: That's Chris's bias there.
Chris: ...is that Jennie?
Me: DJSLAJSK😂😂😂😂
I like how he remember the names before the faces 😂
Ho La Because his wife is named Jenny
Others: k-pop is colorful and has a lot scenes..
Victoria: hold my pen
Hha
Hahah nah Victoria says, "Hand me my pen."
@Keksi thank you for making me laugh.
o lmao
Omg lol
"maybe it should be just called pop cause it is literally the only pop worth watching" THIS.
