It’s Saturday evening, July 6, 2024, on the platform of the former Joliet (Illinois) Union Depot, completed in 1912.
We watch a Union Pacific Railroad southbound auto rack train, with one General Electric d-e locomotive and 92 auto racks pass by, on their Joliet Subdivision, originally the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad.
We also see the former UD (for Union Depot) interlocking tower, now a museum open mid-days on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Aah Joliet ! I wish the food vendors that boarded the train at Joliet to sell snacks were still there. It was a nice additional service/amenity on the Santa Fe. Love that diamond sound!
