Also - The Dark Pool is among my five favorite metalcore releases of the last decade, but this scratches a totally different itch and does so with gusto.

They sound like Deftones and Chevelle combined with the look of Daniel Johns of Silverchair.
It’s in my top 5 Thornhill songs, I love Limbo, Sunflower, Views from the sun, Coven, and Obsession. This sounds like INXS mixed with Deftones, I guess, but Thornhill are just ripping into their own vibe and if this is going to be the sound of the next album, take my money.

That's exactly what I was thinking about Deftones. As soon as the vocals started I was like... OMG his tone sounds very similar to Chino. I'm into it.
It's not just the vocals. The guitar tuning and tone as well. That last breakdown but could have been directly off the diamond eyes album
That influence was already reflected from their previous album Heroine, which in my opinion also sounds somewhat similar to Muse.
The thing I was getting was Cobain vibes as well. I have been a fan since the Dark Pool and loved Heroine as well. I like this sound a lot. It is up there with where we go when we die and Human for me.
The outro riff is almost exactly like the outro riff to Rosemary. The deftones influence is strong in this one
From someone who thought heroine was a big step down. I thought this song was ok but then I listened on Spotify where it plays into viper room after and was like wait this song is wayy better than viper room. I'd be fine with them mashing their 2 styles together but heroine was way to big of a change coming from a top album of all time for me.
Never heard them before, but this song is a BANGER!

i have a tattoo of "The Dark Pool", and you just have to realize the band is different now. I see Thornhill as more of a Nirvana Deftones-y band now and just dont expect Metalcore. Its still great and enjoyable, its just new

Loved this song. It's definitely a culmination of all their work up until this point where y I think they have really started to hit their straps with what they are capable of and yet still feels like they are pushing themselves to evolve. Very proud of them as a long time fan.

I still bump the entire of the dark pool from star to finish as a single piece of music and to date it's still one of my favourite metalcore albums of all time. They kinda lost me with most of their stuff since then, but this is bringing me back in, definitely my favourite thing they've put out since tdp. Has just enough dirtiness to it to butter my biscuits. Keen to see what else they have cooking....
This song is the same vibe as Heroine. You gotta give it another chance, I love the Dark Pool but have actually grown to like Heroine even more.
saw this song live twice already, once at their melbourne show in october (the premiere of this song), and then once at their christmas show. it goes off so fkn hard live, feels like the perfect mix of their two albums sounds
(also its in the same key as 'where we go' and listening to the songs back to back is magical)

I'm loving the new stuff, find this is a good progression, I was a fan starting at Heroine, dark pool was good but I didn't get into it as much, gotta give it another try one day
The Dark Pool was a top tier album for me, but I'm enjoying where they are heading in recent years, they are setting themselves apart with this newer sound, cant wait to see them on the weekend with Polaris and silent planet !

We have heard this live, gents! They played it on their Aus tour (supported by Holding Absence, Thousand Below, Bloom) last year ☺️ And it is enormous live haha.
Loved The Dark Pool, and I love this too. This is a great direction for them, and I'm actually excited for an album with this sound!
This is their best song since *Where we go when we die*. I think that their direction where they are moving to suits them so fucking good. Djenty, sexy, deftones vibes.

I’ve loved everything they’ve put out, maybe except Viper Room. Obsession is a banger and I hope the rest of the album is similar.
Heroine is amazing, hands down not a single track to skip but I absolutely think this has now went to a more beautifully brutal sound. I think about, “The Crow” and that soundtrack and how this song could easily fit in on it and even the reboot which I can’t say I’m looking forward to but this has that edge, it grabs your attention, holds on to it and simply takes you for a ride…❤
