Another extremely interesting movie. Great detail and professionally done as always. Once again, I have learned a few things. Many thanks for doing this Richard.
I was researching my family history when I came across your video of this church. My 7xGreat Grandfather was the Churches Parish Clerk for 52 years. I believe he is buried in the cemetery. I look forward to adding this stop to my next UK Trip.
It is a lovely little place - Julia and I stopped to admire it some time ago on our way back from Middle Farm I think, and I knew I had to come back to make a video about it.
I especially enjoyed your Beddingham church video as 164 of my Moores were baptised in St. Andrews. Between 1820 and 1869 out of 465 baptisms in the church, 119 of them were my family tree members. The census of 1841 shows that out of a population of 268, 51 of them were Moores.
Another great vid & another beautiful church Richard! Loved that tower - as soon as I saw it I thought it looked very castlestic(🤔that a word?!😅 Castle-like!). Loved all that flint work & those windows!😍
Lovely church, that they are some great views. it's quite interesting how a small place like that was once port with bustling with trade, Very fascinating. well done Richard great video.
I pass this church on the road to Brighton intrestingly I have seen on Y/T old photo images showing the interiour of the church showing many light orbs obviously an interesting and very spiritual place
@@RichardVobes almost always! Gotta realize though it's only 9pm though when its 5am your time - so everyone is most likely going to bed or still in bed I think when you sc: your vids. There is 1 other lady I met watching you that lives in a neighboring town here in OR but I notice she usually doesn't comment until 2 or 3 hrs later (she's obviously a night owl like me😄).
In many ways, Norman churches are notable by having Romanesque arches. none were evident in this church. As you say there are a number of interesting ones both side of the river.
William morris as you know im quite fond of..he did many windows and some quite fabulous indeed...maybe that's one of his lesser implementations ..lesser im mean not like his much more elaborate and larger ones..as all his work is rather special I think as is his friend the great walter crane lol I don't know if he did that one there. but certainly seems style of.as it happens if ones interested I have in my bookmarks about some of his window work here is link.victorian-era.org/william-morris-stained-glass-windows.html
My 5x great grandfather was baptised here in 1756 - thank you for showing me around this beautiful gem of a church
That was so enjoyable and informative, one of your best church visits. So much history!
Thanks Nigel - a simple wander round.

Yes they do - I love the fact they are different and tell the individual story of the community.
I drive past that every day on my way to work but never been in. Was lovely to see the church, thank you!

More Moores than I would have supposed. :)
Lovely church. Great video.

Lovely building an setting very plain inside very Puritan like I’m sure Cromwell would approve if he was still around , thanks for sharing Richard 👏
My pleasure - thanks for watching.

Beautiful.

It's nice to wander around old churches , very peaceful!
I enjoy it because there is rarely anyone else there.
Nice church
Thanks
@@RichardVobes yes
lovely church, have you ever been to Abingdon in Oxfordshire ? we have very big church sat right on the river Thames called ST Helens :)
Funnily enough - I am going to Abingdon next month to look at churches! :)
A very interesting church - quite simple and plain internally. The north aisle has a very low eaves height! Does the church not have an organ?
I think it did have an organ actually.
Someone actually beat me to the like button tonight!😯😁😉
Hahahaha- are you the first then often?

I believe from a drawing I found that the only the four corners of the original normal nave is still there. The rest is later. :(

I confess I couldn't tell a William Morris from a fake, but those windows reminded me of his work.
William Morris house is a few miles from me. One of?
