I like how you mentioned that some say “deal” when they were that price before. I mentioned this on Joshv’s prime day video about the active 2.0 but they actually increased their price $20 from the day before. What I tell people is take a screenshot of prices before so you know they won’t trick you
@@CarsWithKeav I have a few friends with the endless movie quote talent. Its an unappreciated skill and it shows how smart you are actually. Keep it up!
I wasn't aware about the AVA Adapter for 3/8 Quick Disconnect. I just bought it because of your video. That is my "portable, the GO." Thank you again, this gives me more, better options.
I was aware, it the only place was Aliexpress to get them. Then somebody sent me a link and said AVA sells them now. Always great to have options. Aliexpress does have one that converts to M22 so it’s easy to connect an ubreflex hose.
AVA is pretty good if you want everything in the box to be pretty good and not looking to upgrade much. If you like to piece things together anything from a $99 Ryobi to and Active 2.0 is good just depends on your budget.
Second question… as a snowbird. Do I need to drain my deionizer when I leave for the summer? Temps can exceed 120f and my garage gets even hotter. Not to mention the humidity dries everything out. Will this impact the resin negatively?
Resin should always be stored moist. When it dries out it will exhaust faster. High heat can degrade performance and shorten lifespan as well. It’s suggested cool dry place with temps below 90 degrees.
Living in the Southern CA desert with a TDS of 250, would you recommend a spin down filter in front of my deionozer filters to make the resin last longer? If so what mesh size? I have APEC CWS-300.
If you have large sediment it will help for sure. If on well water sometimes a lot of co2 can be trapped which will degrade resin. A degasification filter helps with that. Would have to have the water checked to know if there is trapped co2.
I would suggest the Griots Di System and buy an extra bag to fill it all the way up. It does high flow and is big enough to handle the high TDS. One of the cheapest tank style with a built in bypass and that size.
My TDS reading is about 65, what di system do you recommend for home use? I wash one car once a month and a truck less than that. I am looking for a system that will be sitting on the ground or a cart because I can't wall mount it. I will be using the di system with a Karcher K1700 Cube pressure washer or sometimes it may be a garden hose. Are you familiar with H&G lifestyles Portable Water Deionizer that is on Amazon for $169.99? I have seen some car detailers recommend it. Thanks
I myself would go with the Spotbye as it’s just a better value and with 65 TDS you don’t need big systems. amzn.to/3Z2nGHI It’s the same size as the H&G
At that TDS I would suggest a larger tank style system such as the Griots or On the Go. Griots doesn’t come full so you would have to add more resin so it’s a full capacity. On the go make sure it’s a unit that can hold 1/2 cubic foot. Griots is a great value just have to buy a little more resin like some Colombian bam bam.
Hey Keav, do you use DI water when foaming your car with the pressure washer or only during the rinse process? Also, what DI system do you recommend for a TDS of about 240 with a 2.1gpm pressure washer? Ty
I do sometimes it all depends on how long you want that resin to last. Right now since I do rinseless as my contact wash I only do one rinse so I do everything DI now. To make sure you can maintain that flow and at that TDS I would suggest a medium size unit such as the ispring I shows in the video, a cr spotless or a tank style one like the Griots. the griots can do much more flow close to 4gpm while the cr spotless is 2.5gpm.
Of the sprayers, which would you recommend for a rinseless car wash? I noticed for the SPTA, you told someone it doesn't work well for that, but the black and yellow one does?
Electric foamers have a puke to them to help create the foam. That in itself doesn’t create the best spray pattern for a rinseless. They will work just fine, but won’t be as efficient of a spray. Water droplet will spatter all over the place. It’s a smaller bottle, but I really like the Solo sprayers or the bigger 2 gallon Fanttik NB8 for rinseless.
All these Amazon detailer reviews and no one is talking about the spta corded 5 inch dual action polisher being $109. That is unreal value. That polisher is great. Will last a long time.
@@traviscrown9189 All of their products I have tried work well for the price. I love their battery foamer. I’m getting more into polishers so I can better judge the quality of one and what to expect.
The Spotbye would work well for you from a value standpoint. If you have a little more money the Griots is a great value has a good bypass and flow rate. A lot depends if you are wall mounting, or just setting it on the floor. The ispring is a good value as well just a bit more expensive. Many find that type easier and less intimidating to do refills on.
You could get the Spotbye as the cheapest solution. The Waterdrop is borderline at that TDS with the stock filters. Another I suggest would be the Griots if you want more capacity and willing to spend the $300. It’s really an underrated system for the price.
Yeah, that’s the original price looks like the sale was only for a small period of time and not the whole week. I saw that price go up looking around last night.
That’s a great pressure washer have one myself I use for testing foam cannons at different flow rates. Did a video comparing multiple $100 machine and that was my pick. Uberflex is great for that type of machine as well.
@@kothareddykrishna 2.5 or 3.0 both will be good. I go back and forth between them when I use it. I sometimes use both. 2.5 for my wheels and tires and pre-soak rinse and the 3.0 for the final rinse.
