I like both songs equally, both have slightly different vibes and i dont prioritize between those. Bhakti or not (music goes beyond that). In terms of plagiarism, here's an anecdote that happened to me. Went to watch Kantara not knowing anything about movie, controversy or theme. When the song started, I shouted to my friends "this is probably Thaikkudam's Navarasam song, Happy they're doing music direction". After movie, msged friends that music was awesome, and Thaikkudam was probably the director. I was that sure of it then - and not just because of the similar ragam or rising beats. Not to mention, the similar folk art forms explored. 10 minutes later, I found that the music director was someone else, and Thaikkudam had to file against plagiarism. So - its clear where I stand. Art is subjective and open to interpretation, and many biases can cloud our judgement. But when I judged the song to be too similar to Navarasam in the theater, I was not biased by any prior knowledge of the controversy. Kantara is making waves and lots of money. Some fans claim the movie's soul was Varaaharoopam (even news reports). Dont want to take away anything from the movie, but we can agree the music was integral to the movie's success, and film-makers are making money and credit, why shouldnt they credit Thaikkudam for what they took from them, if even inspiration? What do they lose ? Now they opened up an unnecessary controversy marring the beauty of the movie too. One step further - why hide behind the farce of 'inspiration' ? We all know what that word meant in Indian cinema, we have heard it too many times already. We Indians, more than anyone else, have normalized plagiarism in art. Time to get out of that and respect true creativity. Let's make art and cinema more creative, professional and original, its the only way it can grow.
Same thoughts here. Heard Kantara song first time without any knowledge of the controversy and I too thought that the music direction was done by Thaikudam bridge. Kantara my fev movie.. before listen this navarasam song bcz.. don't know about this copyright ... 😥
It's common that people tend to like the song which they heard first, common eg most of youth like the cover version of a song while our parents prefer the og. Navarasa n varaharoopam are excellent.
Credit goes to Saints Thagaraja, Deekshithar and other karnatic music creators
You forgot the revered Karnāta Sangeeta Pitāmaha- Sri Purandara Dāsaru.
Varaha roopam divine feelings...❤️
Copied feelings 😂
@@godofsmallthings4289 why are you so jeleous
@@hemantacharya9658 cuz, they never understood 'daivam' and were quick for judgement, thus losing their daivatvam
Navarasam is ultimate 🥏
Both are belonging to devotion thats it. The feel of hype is ultimate.
Varaha Roopam is still better than Navarasam. What a divine feeling in Varaha Roopam. Thanks to both Kantara and Navarasam for giving such a good divine feeling music.
Varaha roopam brings in the divine feeling navarasam is about the expressions which is unique in its own way and suits that movie whereas this song varaha suits the bhoota Lola perfectly
@@shivchan3645 because the situation in two videos are different you dumb😂

"Thaikkudam bridge""big salute 🎉.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Raga is entirely different kantara is having high volume not same
Well, there are 1000s of songs based on the same ragas & all those doesn't sound the same..so it's not the similarities in ragas..also, the instruments used are different..in the intro Varaharoopam substituted violin with a naadaswaram & drums replaced chenda in some parts..except for that the song is very much similar..they just changed the lyrics & substituted some instruments. That's it . Copy!
@@somas8597 Learn to music completely many movie have similar music you can say all copy kantara movie is hit so you people are greeding
Similar raga does not mean copy
There is n number of differences between two when we listen to both objectively
In fact kantara song is more effective, melodius, and generates bhakthi
Can you help identifying the ragas? I sense they are different too.
Nobody argues with ragas,it’s completely different
Plagiarism is based on the set up, the guitar riffs, the ups and down, very identical tunes in most portion!
