Tom, I always enjoy your videos. I’m not a concrete guy but appreciate the workmanship and your entire team’s work ethics always on display. I really enjoy some of the off season projects that you take on. And most of all I appreciate the relationship that you have with all your family, especially the closeness that you have with your grandkids. I look forward to following along with Steve’s new home build as well. It’s going to be quite a house!
Tom, we are impressed with the driveway parking area. What impressed me the most was no puddles anywhere. Most people would have waited for the concrete to dry before they filmed. Better, than good job, great job.
You will not regret changing over to non-ethanol gas for your small engines. I started doing that years ago because of what I know about boat engines and have not had a single fuel related issue since. Worth the extra per gallon.
Tom,as always when you and your team are doing concrete it looks amazing at the end as far as equipment goes you’re smart when trying to get the most out of it until you can’t and have to get something new 😮😊❤
That door is really turning out nice, can't wait to see the finished product 👍 I'm glad you stopped into the project that you lost footage on, nice job 😊
Years ago I had a few "bad" oil sample test results, then read the instructions stating you should collect a sample from the middle 1/3 to avoid collecting any debris around the drain plug for what that's worth. After that, my test results were much improved and probably a lot more accurate.
Well, you know I love exposed aggregate. The diamonds are very sharp. I love it. Every time I see aggregate I remember the estate that ya'll put in the aggregate walks on top of frozen base rock and the sides cracked. I saw how amazing you were that day. I'll never forget it. I've always tried to contain my anger, sometimes I do pretty good. I have to be living close to the Lord to suppress my anger, but you amazed me that day. I thought how I'd love to have you as a boss. But, I really do love the look of exposed aggregate. My favorite. He should have had the broomed stamped, but as a driveway, broomed is more safe. I hope the oil test is good on the 301. That is another memory I will always keep. The sight of you rolling over backwards in the 301! It was so scary when it happened, then after it was obvious you weren't hurt, it was funny. That was a great lesson day. I was talking to my grandson yesterday about his wrestling. He complained that he doesn't feel that he is learning enough. He is in a weight class that not many others are in, so he is not getting to wrestle as much as others. I told him, it's like riding a bike for the first time. You can sit and read 10 books on how to ride a bike, but until you get on it and ride it, your'e not learning. it takes experience. Hands on. Heck, we all know you knew what you were doing, just a little over confident is all that moment. But now - well, I'd bet a thousand dollars you will never do that again. Experience is the best teacher. I like watching you service your equipment, and the power screed was very interesting. Searching for the problem. Many times I've taken my car or truck to a mechanic, telling him something isn't right, just to be told to keep using it till whatever it is stops working, then it will be easy to find. The problem with your screed wasn't so easy to find, even after it stopped working. I don't think I would ever have considered the muffler as the culprit. Kudos to you for figuring it out. Thanks, Tom for sharing your real with us today. I enjoyed it very much.❤
Tom, thanks for the update on the power trowel. That muffler change may be the fix I need for my mower that does the same thing! Definitely worth the small investment to see! Thanks for finalizing the problem! Sorry Emily, .... DAD WAS RIGHT not to edit that part out! I'm sure you're still his 'favorite' ! Yinz guys are the best!
Tom, I very much enjoy everyone of your videos and always look forward to your next post. You and your team are truly professionals with every job that you do.
Greasing is important. I always had my crews wipe up all the squeeze out when they were done. It was aggravating to climb on a machine and end up with grease on your boots, hands, shirt, pants, etc. 😏 The equipment looked better without grease hanging on it. 😊 I keep a 300 gallon tank of Ethanol free gas just for small engines and my 1994 GMC pickup. Gas mileage is horrible if I run ethanol gas in the pickup.
Good morning Tom and crew, I just got home from hospital yesterday recovering from back surgery and never missed your videos .thanks for all your content and be safe ☕️🦌
Tom, awesome work on the diamond driveway!!! As far as spending an extra grand to re coop the rest of the hard drive, good call not to! That diamond drive video will pay back aLOT more to new customers with just THAT in your resume' !
Most city trucks will have lower milage as they spend most of their time idling while the city workers sit in them waiting. If it’s got 40,000 on the odometer it’s probably at least 3 times that much time on the engine. Believe me I know I worked for a city for 25 yrs.
Good morning Tom, the truck it self, probably has serious rot. The townships usually don't take care of these vehicles. In the long run. It will cast you more. To repair the rot, than you will pay for the truck. Just a thought, Joe Capo.
Tom, have you seen the Milwaukee battery power trowel?? Seen Kyle from RR Building demo a couple of them. Little pricey if you dont use one alot. But nice. Your driveway looked absolutely beautiful!! As always job well done!!
So Tom do you think taking an oil sample at the very end would read differant than the beginning? I run premium non ethanol gas. I alway pump the 1st gallon in my vehicle (to flush the other gas out) then fill my gas can. Nice looking concrete job as usual.
i think its kind of comical to see a guy that is so gifted at his own profession to jump into a project and watch him fumble about , its not just you Tom i watch a ton of you tubers that do exactly the same thing im talking about good luck with her door
Stay away from those kinda trucks Tom. I worked for a township for many years. They look good on the outside but the underside is most likely rotted. The salt and calcium destroys the underside of those trucks.
I'd also concerned that low mileage doesn't mean low hours necessarily. Low mileage could also also be a sign of a lot of time in the maintenance shop. In aircraft we call that a hanger queen.
I bought a truck off of west Chester township on Muni-bid, the truck was in incredible shape, the frame had no rust underneath. if you buy off the higher end townships most of them have the facilities and money to take way better care of their trucks,
I had a weed wacker given to me that was found in the trash. He😂😢 couldn't get it started and offered it to me. Didn't sound right when trying to start. Took off the muffler, and it started right up. The muffler had one 3/8, 1/2 inch hole on it and was plugged with dirt. Cleaned it out, reinstalled, problem solved.
1/10/25..video begins with Tom on phone...?..then $9500 mention...then finally after several minutes we learn its a truck auction in ??New Jersey? I enjoy watching & learning how CCwHauses does such great work & compare your activities with Odell in (San Diego?) Calf. & Bondo in central NY & others. Clearly your warm weather videos are superior to yur winter subject content..just waaay too much disconnect in 2days video as subject 'jumped' from phone auction to explination of lost video on 'diamond inlay' driveway job then jump to yur shop & (ugly) power Trowel with xyz gas/carburetor problem then jump to ??long wood? table with epoxy? urathane?? finish...sorry but this sporadic 'splice & dice' deserves a 👎today. Were is your video QC🦧? Ok..will try you again later..enjoy your visit to Cc world show..maybe show us some new tools? Stay safe & carry on..😊

That homeowner sure came up with a very nice design Tom. Glad you figured out the gas issue with the helicopter 👍

I’m glad you enjoyed the video, and I'm hoping the oil test comes back good. I'm working hard to make sure I don't make the same mistake twice! 20:49

Make sure you follow the doctors orders. I know you’ll be fine.
Mr Haus remember its Philadelphia. Multiple drivers and the roads/drivers beat the living hell out of the equipment.
Well done ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I would love to hear the oil analysis, we used to do that on our equipment at a refinery i worked at.
Tom, For the final coats, consider a bar top epoxy - they are designed to cure faster - especially in lower temps.

Wish you were in Wyoming. That driveway was perfect!
Bad sample should always take sample through dip stick tube or sample port in newer machines and oil should always be at operating temp.
Hey Tom, If you get a chance stop by booth n3163, Marshall Stamping, we make the steel trench drain you install. We're located in Valencia, PA.

I love the exposed aggregate surface. Difficult procedure to do?
The muffler on that thing is filled up with oil when you tipped it over it ran into the muffler, gonna take a long time to burn that off
The muffler off and see if it still burns oil
