This is all Tabata will ever be remembered for
I'm a pirate fan but Jose Tabata was classless no one should ever lean into a pitch when the pitcher is one strike away from a perfect game
they are paid to get on base. not give pitchers perfect games
+Ross Murog dude it was the final strike of the game I kinda get your point but sometimes u have to find a way to get on base without being a jerk
That is pretty much being a jerk. Ruining a perfect game for max scherzer
Tabata is allowed to do whatever he wants he doesn't need to get out of the way he doesn't need to let max s have the perfect game
The hitters job is to get on base however way possible. He wasn’t classless for doing that, he was doing what he had to do. Maybe Scherzer should’ve made a better pitch.
I still call it a perfect game
Why? doesnt change history
@@timeland8343 shut up
Same here, it is indeed a perfect game. Why would he lean into it?
I can't believe they let him get away with that.
nope
Who’s here after the Nats made the World Series, going through all the misery this team has had to endure in the past
Kiran Kilambi and won it all! Shout out to the three guys from this lineup who are still there: Max, MAT, and Tony 2Bags
Wow ... Espinosa, Desmond, Span, Jordan Zimmerman, seems like ages ago....here after they won it all!
I was a montreal expos fan, when the Nats won that world series, it felt like the expos finally won it.
I love how history looks back at this as a no hitter. But to me, this is the conclusion of two of the most dominate back to back starts in baseball history. You fail to remember, he threw a one hitter, 16 SO game against the brewers in the start before this. The only hit came from a blooper single over the second baseman's head.
If the game was maybe 3-0, 2-0 or 1-0 I can understand Tabata's reasoning getting on base but 6-0? Bro that's BS
Julius Ulit exactly
It's just totally classless to lean into a pitch to break up a perfect game regardless of the score. Be a man and break up the perfect game by getting on base via a hit or walk
@@bend4852 nah if its a close game u gotta clutch. if youve got an opportunity to win youve gotta give it 100% bc the pitcher sure is and hes gotta earn that pg
I remember turning this on in about the 7th or so when I heard he was perfect. I will never forget the rage I felt on Max’s behalf when the dude leaned into that pitch.
If you wanna break up a perfect game, beat the pitcher. Draw the walk or put wood on the ball & find a gap. Don’t pull that shit.
Tabata CLEARLY leaned into it wtf...
No. He did not. He was gonna swing and decided not to. Make a better pitch next time. Tough luck, bud. Now go home
Lowen Werner That comment was made 3 years ago lmao.
Lowen Werner he leaned in. You can clearly see it. I think we found tabata’s burner account
@@lowenwerner122 eat some carrots
@@lowenwerner122 @Jose Carranza The inside pitch is the most common placement for a strikeout pitch. He leaned into the ball(which is against mlb rules) and if you watch the pirates next 2 weeks, that guy didnt play because the pirates gm benched for this lol. Thats what you get for being a sore loser. And if you watch the clip again you clearly se him dropping his elbow. And if you look at Tabata's highlights, none of them show him dropping his elbow for his swing. Now go home
it shoulda been a perfect game. Really, if you are gonna try to ruin his perfect game through 26, don't lean into a ptch
Tanner Coerr Don’t throw inside either.
Jose Carranza he dropped his shoulder so he could get the walk lmaooo
@@josecarranza7555 The inside pitch is the most common placement for a strikeout pitch. He leaned into the ball(which is against mlb rules) and if you watch the pirates next 2 weeks, that guy didnt play because the pirates gm benched for this lol. Thats what you get for being a sore loser
@@nolanboerger2162 He did his job getting on base.
No one is going to lay you an easy one, you earn it.
@@josecarranza7555 you’re being a hypocrite with “you earn it” because Tabata didn’t earn his walk. He literally leaned into it
Max Scherzer is and always will be my favorite pitcher of all time. Absolutely unhittable
Me too
Mine's Randy Johnson
I was at this game and still think about it to this day. I will always remember that last inning when everyone in the stadium went from such a high to such a low. I remember going to the parking garage at the end of the game and sitting in the car listening to my dad talk to his dad about the hit by pitch for almost 30 minutes. I still have the tickets from that game. Despite not having a perfect game, it was still an amazing day!
I don’t care what the ump called, the pitch he leaned into was a strike so this was a perfect game.
Jose Tabata was leaning into the freaking pitch! Max Scherzer should have had a perfect game!
Ese muchacho lo admiró, el sera salón de la fama, ya lo verán !!
And 4 years later they Max gets the win he deserves
Fav pitcher of all time.
Pure dominance
#SaveDodgerfilms
gavin Franz I'm a fan of Bobby, but what does this have to do w/ Scherzer's no-no?
+Capitalsforlife he made a video of him where he was watching this game live and he saw the moment his perfect game was snapped
Capitalsforlife I'm a caps fan to sadly
One of my favorite pitchers of all time
This is why they call him Mad Max
Tabeda is the man he was most mad at this day
One of the 10 best Free agent signings in MLB history....He will be the 1st National Curly W in Cooperstown #alreadyalegend. Nothing but an honor and privilege to have watch him the last 6 years
What's crazy too is how close so many of these hits were to being home runs.
The Tigers should have never let him go
He was asking for too much money
+Nick DiRezze tru but hes worth the money
Or the Dbacks
Elite Puck players are too greedy
Money well spent if they did
oh my god I was at this game! so annoyed when the guy got hit but AMAZING seeing a no hitter
totally leaned into that pitch... such a pity
If there was booth review and challenges back in the day this could have been 1 of 25 perfect games
Go frame by frame, starting at 4:48. You can advance using the > key on a desktop PC. The batter *obviously* leaned down into the pitch.
What an amazing moment😀 but bittersweet cause I didn't see it but the final out. This day I was seeing Jurassic world with my family and when I came back I didn't understand why the crowd was so loud and why bob and fp were so silent. Not until tabata got hit and and fp said there goes the perfect game did I start to flip out. Needless to say one of the most bittersweet moments of my life
4:07 every perfect game/no hitter has at least a couple defensive gems like that
that at bat never fails to ruin my day
Rule 6.08 MLB...look it up. You chuckle heads wrote the damn thing.
Also after a review the umpire should have been fined. Players get fined, and umps should get it too. As in the outside world, even police aren't above the law. We need to start punishing umpires accordingly.
Too bad not enough people in the comments section see this since there's still those defending the shenanigan..
It’s really a perfect game just like the Armando galaraga perfect game
This is Perfect game.
Mad Max you are the greatest pitcher of all time.
Oooh that play deep in the hole at 2nd base. Nice! Every no hitter has great D and a little luck.
The only person who doesn't think Tabata leaned into the pitch is Scherzer himself, who has said it was just a slider that didn't break as much as he wanted.
Everybody saying that batters are paid to get on base like bruh, he literally leaned into the pitch, on purpose. That’s a wimp move.
you'll always have a home in DC max :'(
I’m not crying you are 😭😭
Atta boy Missouri boy!!⚾️👏
The 🐐
They were getting pieces of him... Just hit it in unlucky places. Still, what a pitching performance.... Dominant.
Damn...Tabata!
Did he lean into it? Maybe.
However he certainly made 0 effort to get out of the way.
He started turning his shoulder as the pitch was thrown. I wish the ball wrecked his face and destroyed his career.
@@JasonJia11 His career's already destroyed anyway due to him being a walking DL stint. There's a reason he never played even 110 games in a season. To think some idiots used to laugh about the Yankees' "mistake" for trading him.
Can’t believe he isn’t on the Nats anymore
I was on vacation in DC at the time I'm from Pittsburgh and I went to that game it was my grandmas first pirate game and they get no- hit
Before a couple years ago when homer Bailey threw a no no against the Pirates guess who was there 😤
I'm still salty about this
Phantom hit by pitch call >_>
Sherzer, we know you were perfect that game.
Jose went into the ball I mean wtf
So nobody gonna talk about how hard the pirates were hitting it the first three innings?
I count this is a perfect game
4:08 the best play..
Most exciting no hitter I've ever witnessed, an d I'm a Giants fan who watcher Chris Heastons no hitter
As a Mets fan that one hurt
“Send that hat to Cooperstown.” Lmao
ikr
Leaning into a pitch is a good way to get a REAL hbp next time you run into the same guy
Sure it should have been a perfect game, but If I have chocolate syrup poured on my head, that's a damn good day.
The best thing about this video right here is that there's very little FP Santangelo
What's wrong with FP?
scherzer is an old school pitcher
Anybody that says it is his job to get on base Don't understand that there is a rule that you cannot lean into pitches. The Umpire should have saw that and called it.
Who do you feel more bad for ? Armando Gallarga or Max Scheeza
AARON-CESAR AGUÍLAR gallarga
Gotta go with Galarraga. Doesn’t get more painful than that!
Gallaraga because his was sealed, tapata could have gotten a base hit or walk next pitch
Without question Gallaraga. He had completed the perfect game and had it taken away by the call, but he also lost a no hitter too, because if I remember correctly they called it an infield single. At least Scherzer got the no hitter.
Armando would be worse since his case was a case of a clear blown call. Even the runner couldn't believe that he was called safe when it happened.
Bittersweet😣😣
I feel bad for max scherzer lost his perfect game
Dude I played baseball for 10 years until I broke my hip, now I play softball but am still really competitive when it comes to beating people. I think running up the score is awesome because if they can’t stop you from scoring then that’s their fault. I think breaking up a perfect game is a dream and what every hitter should do and be proud of. All that being said… leaning in to get hit with 2 out in the 9th is a punk move. Seriously no respect. That’s the bitchiest way to get on base and even worse to ruin history for someone. You don’t lean in to get hit there
The other perfect game ruined by an umpire not paying attention.
2:09 94mph😮
#savedodgersfilms
he is only doing if for the benefit of baseball #savedodgerfilms
# 24 in my books. An insane game for mad max, worth the price of $210 million
If you want to add games that should be perfect but weren't onto the list of perfect games, this would be 25. Galarraga's would be 24.
Proto Man fair point
@@protoman1365 And there are cases where some perfect games were lost in the extras because the team didn't score.
SaveDogderFilms
I wonder who makes the hall of Fame... Mad Max or Tabata???
강정호도 있네
Let's go nats
Best pitcher alive better than kershaw kluber and sale
Jose fuckin’ Tabata
#saveDodgerfilms
I don’t think the guy leaned into the pitch
Devils advocate here: Max still three that way too far inside and it was a terrible pitch to close the game with.
Perfect thru 26? Thats gotta suck? Gonna be a rough memory
Even moreso when the last guy got hit on purpose. Scherzer got the last laugh though considering what happened last week. To think the injury that kept him from pitching in Game 5 may have actually helped them.
Scherzer looks more natural in tigers
First ballot HoF. agree?
Washington the best💪💪
Good the pirates didn't need a perfect game thrown against them
#SaveDodgerFilms
Save Bobby
Per the rules, a batter must make an attempt to avoid being hit by a pitch in order to receive first base. Tabata made no attempt. Very obviously no attempt
Savedodgerfilms
Anybody else have bad quality
this is me
I WAS AT THIS GAME
CJ Lombardi Okay no one cares
so you mean to say, the pirates had a pretty average game
Rodon same-ish thing
I know this video came out months ago and the controversy is over but, Scherzer's slider had been so nasty all game. That one that hit Tabata hang. Don't blame Tabata for Scherzer's terrible pitch. That slider actually froze Tabata cuz he was expecting it to break and hit the inside corner. It didn't, it hung and hit a confused Tabata.
-Scherzer fan
terrible pitch?lol....youre bot his fan you lying liar.
+skinsman82000 not
+skinsman82000 it hung. It didn't move, and it was way inside. Tell me how it wasn't a terrible pitch? And I'm a Tigers fan. I wish Scherzer the best of luck in DC
The guy actually dipped his elbow toward it. Whether or not the slider was bad, Tabata made no effort to avoid it.
1:50 2:04
#SaveDodgersFilms
take away the elbow guards
Tabata should be shamed for the rest of his short career for this
no one is perfect
That's why he gave Mets a no-hitter.
HOF
poor guy off one pitch
I have no dog in the fight but I don't see him leaning into that pitch....I do see a curveball that didn't have bite and backed up into the batter though. Many Nats fans in this comment section acting like the guy jumped in front of the pitch to get hit. Nope don't see it.
