What I love about Onew is that he is a very 'clean' vocalist. And I think that's what makes him so unique in Kpop. He doesn't need all the bells and whistles; no need for vocal gymnastics; he isn't vocally stylistic but relies on straightforwardness when he sings. It's the kind of style that can open him to a lot of mistakes but given how technically good he is, it's a non-issue for him. We really need to bring back SINGERS in Kpop!
Onew saying his voice is complimentary and Lee Mujin saying his members can go either way because they have Onew as the support/foundation - this really encapsulates the magic that is in SHINee's music. Their voices really work together well in a song!
Absolutely! I think this extends to other vocalists as well, like Onew is the best duet partner to have because he can blend and complement virtually any voice even though his is also so unique. That’s how good he is!!!
