Used for the first time today. I was absolutely blown away. I had a Milwauke line trimmer 12v battery setup. The difference in quality and cut were worlds apart. Husqvarna by a country mile. So good. Just so bloody good.
I just got a nearly brand new 525L for free from a guy I've done some work for in the past and I can't believe how good it is. Usually "free weedeater" = free headache. I didn't know anything about it but I started it up and ran it full throttle for 4 hours and it really is one of the best weedeaters I've ever used.
ive been thinking of getting one as my old 327 wont start anymore. sometimes i think im the only one who has a 327 as i never hear of anyone in the comments mention them. the 525 is on sale at my nearby lowes for 279 dollars witch is 70 dollars less.
Bought the 330lk but I returned it . It was defective, it would die a lot and hard to start and run hot . So went ahead and spent 50 more bucks and bought the 525l .
I found one in a dumpster someone had used way too much oil in the gas and had tried taking the muffler off and snapped the bolts off. I drilled and retapped the mounting holes and cleaned everything up. For about an hour if tinkering, i got a great trimmer.
Dude, that's awesome! I've had mine 4+ years now and it's still running strong. Just make sure you keep oil in the rotating head or it'll lock up on you. Although, if it does, you can pour in oil and it'll unseize.
Counterclockwise. I haven't seen any straight shaft trimmers where the string head turns clockwise. It would be nice as you would end up with less grass being thrown onto you.
Not bad I have the echo 2620T love it just a bit heavy looking to get another just to have 2 and something different may try the high torque version of this Husqvarna see how I like it looks light I have the upgraded head on mine with the black diamond 1.25 twine and there's nothing I can't chop with it 😀 want the same in something else plus I love the start up never more than 3 pulls no smoke clean I use red armor oil with my gas and sometimes the premix gas my local dealer offer plus it gave me longer warranty using those so I have nothing bad to say other than a tad heavy for long use 😀 but definitely no guard hate the hanging up with chopped weeds in it lbvs
Shoot, I'd have nothing to complain about apart from weight with that set up too! If you install an upgraded string head on the Husqvarna, holy cow bro. It'll cut! And Yes, it's pretty light weight. Starts like a champ too within 3 pulls every time. It's a quality tool.
Good video Brother. I luckily recycle my brush trimmer string from my Dr. Trimmer to my weed eater. I have been thinking of fashioning my own trimmer head out of Stainless Steel. Safety first of course. Shalom Brother
Shalom Bro! That's a smart idea. A stainless head would be awesome. But I wonder if it would detract from the power of the trimmer as it would be heavier. Kindof like putting larger tires on your truck. The engine has to work harder to overcome the weight. Durable for sure, but would it be worth it? At the same time, just the head alone would generate greater kinetic energy. Just my thoughts.
@@tacticallytorah2570 The head on my weed eater is a polymer head with easy-change string. I'm thinking of putting Stainless blades in place is actually what I mean. The weight would be minimal. Hows the fuel consumption on that Husqvarna?
@@thetradesman7478 ah, I'm picking up what you're putting down. Blades would be entirely different. It is actually quite efficient in my opinion. And Light weight as well. Overall, easy to use, less felt vibration, and again, strong
I have one of these and absolutely love it. It will run right beside my Stihl of similar size. I love the power they have. Can't even imagine how powerful they would be if someone ported and polished the intake, transfers and exhaust and tightened up the squish gap in the top of the cylinder. It would probably have crazy power and loads of torque. Would probably be like putting a dirt bike engine on it but look like a regular 525L until you grab the throttle.
Yeah, it's a pretty legit peice of machinery. It would probably shine all the more with those mods. Stihl is great too. To me, they will all get the job done. Some better than others. Some heavier, some lighter, ect. But that 525L has just the right balance
It really is. At least you've got something to do the job. It's better than scissors. Lol. Sometimes we just have to do the best we can with what we've got where we are at. Though I can say, Troy Built isn't a slouch.
@@knightimusprime25 that may be the story on their string trimmers then. I've got a Troy Built tiller that runs strong, and starts every time on the first pull. Ofcourse, there are anomalies with everything. Maybe I've had good experiences. Things like this are subjective to the individual

correction dude runnin bigger string like .105 will NOT give it more power it will in fact kill the power some stick with .095 it'll do alot better with that in it if ya wanna give it a small power boost take the screen out of the muffler while it that doesnt give it a big boost of power it still helps it some
I said the .105 carries more kinetic energy, and therefore doesn't slow down upon hitting thick stuff as much as the .095 does. Has nothing to do with the power. It's a strong motor, and runs both lines perfectly.
@@tacticallytorah2570 I own a LawnCare business and you are 100% correct .105 does carry more kinetic energy and you don't have to bump the head as often. If you're using a commercial grade trimmer you aren't going to have to worry about .105 bogging it down anyways. I think the reason the guy who commented that has a problem with .105 is because he's used a residential style trimmer and used it in it.
