- Live service of the full route from Peebles to Edinburgh City centre bus station. See below for timestamps. This was a January service with the mild winter the roads are clear with little foliage. Still quite cold outside but the bus has heated up by this stage coming from Galashiels so it's relatively warm inside!

Nice to find another UA-camr bus driving. I’ve done quite a few but tend to only record light mileage and mostly fairly short positioning trips up to half an hour, which the camera seems to like, and keeps uploads manageable. Lovely scenery and nice long routes. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vid. 👍
Nice driving👍 I love these Scanias
Thanks, they are nice to drive. I wish we had some new ones😊
@@SleekitFkr They are getting on a bit sadly
As a driver for Lothian in Edinburgh good too see some quality videos around Edinburgh what it’s really like driving buses around here
Thanks, I don’t envy you guys driving the city all day, it’d drive me nuts!
Keep up with these videos there really good
Cheers mate, appreciated 👍😁
33:48 aha thats me and my pal getting on heading into town what are the chances! Interesting to see a POV of a route local to me!
👍 glad you saw yourself 😁 See where the bus was before it got to you eh!
I remember these beauties operating near me😍
Yes, older but still lovely to drive 😊
So polite my bus drivers are so grumpy but I don’t them blame them lol
Thanks. I try to be at all times 😊
i wanna be a bus driver wen am old it's bc i love busses one of the best jobs in the world😄
😂 Works for me!
I used to drive 2 door Omnicitys in London. Always had a problem with emergency exits alarms going off over every little bump or pothole. Wondered if you had the same problem because of your many potholes on that route
Hi, I’ve not experienced that but have occasionally had the “main door” open sound come on when hitting the potholes. Only seems to happen if one of the cave sized holes is hit so not a major issue.
LOVE Scanias and Scotland. Will be revisiting again next week. Are the Scanias a regular on the X62?
Thanks. I love driving the Scania’s but we only have a few older people ones. In my short experience they are not frequently on the X62.
In Nottingham, we had Scanias but with East Lancs Omnidekka bodies. They've all been sold now and the new double deckers are Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMCs running on biogas. Nottingham City Transport are now buying Yutong EVs from China which doesn't please me.
Interesting. Our feet seems made up of ADL, Scania and Optare with our most recent addition (23 plate) being a Volvo. Not sure what is in the order pipeline but I'd be surprised if hybrid and electric were not in the mix however, we have no infrastructure in place for electric as yet. I suspect more Chinese makes will appear in most fleets.
@@TravelswithBillybob I would prefer Alexander Dennis BYD.
@@TravelswithBillybob West Coast Motors have already got their EV Streetdecks out on the road for Glasgow Citysightseeing. Seen 3 of them out on the road so far.
@@garymcewan868 A different story down here mate, in our current location I don’t think there is the space for the infrastructure. Keep hearing about a new depot , which will probably allow charging infrastructure to be installed but nothing confirmed. Still diesel for us just now!
Them Yutongs are actually quite nice buses to drive ngl
excellent video!! which youtube category is this vid by the way?
Thanks. It’s in the travel category if I remember correctly.
Do they have pedals like a car?
Yes
What camera do you use?
This was filmed on a DJI Osmo Action 4
Can I just ask what permission you need if any? I want to record my driving but I don’t want to get pulled in the office 😂😂
Read your company internet/social media policy. All you need to know should be in there. 👍
Why on your ticket machine do you have to manually scan people's passes it's just strange cause buses with ticketer machines usually do it without you pressing a button.
We don’t “manually scan” but we must enter a destination to get the correct cost. In Scotland the subsidised £2 fare does not exist. With almost all fates, Even with a concession card, a destination is needed to get the correct fare or in order to receive the appropriate recompense for the company from the government for the concession. It’s not something I’m doing incorrectly or choosing to do 😊
@@TravelswithBillybobOK mate thanks for clarifying appreciate it.
What bus company do u drive for?
Borders Buses. Part of West Coast Motors.
@@SleekitFkr im a bus driver to!
@@ajt1054_RLGreat! 😊
@@SleekitFkr heard of Arriva North East?
@@ajt1054_RLI’m aware of Arriva but more for their train services TBH
I'm guessing the £2 fare cap no longer applies in Scotland?. Over £7 for a trip of around and hour and 15/20 minutes is shockingly expensive. Down here in Yorkshire I can take a similar length of journey (and even longer) and the £2 cap still applies.
Have a look further down the comments and replies for a bit more on the pricing in Scotland. It’s not as expensive here as it first appears
There was never a £2 fare cap in Scotland.
How come your bus fares cost more in Scotland than UK,a single fare were I live is £2 and a day ticket is £4.50
The fare varies with the distance here. As far as I know the £2 limit is imposed by the UK government in England and doesn’t actually reflect the true cost of the journey. That is only my understanding of it. Not applicable in Scotland.
I didn’t know Scotland wasn’t in the UK.. I guess they finally got their way! Jokes ;)
And yes in England they’re running a scheme which could be compared to prescriptions, the amount you pay is the difference between what the govt pay and the real cost. It’s one of their supposed cost of living support schemes!
FREEDOM! 😂
@mikedurkin3654 This is an Express Route, from The Borders to the City of Edinburgh. Your quoted prices are for City Fares.
Did you also notice EVERY UNDER 22s, Disabled and 60+ passenger was FREE! This is normal for all public service bus journeys nationally, in Scotland.
But if someone wants going to bathroom, what can it doing???? these buses must has a bathroom inside, don´t you?
My city is more beautiful ,and we are more clever.
This bus in February changed the name from West Coast Motors to Borders Buses😊
Yup, I suppose technically they’re all “West Coast Motors” as it’s the parent company but we do get the have the occasional bus liveried as WCM despite being Borders Buses.
