I will never stop loving how he does whatever he wants to express himself and doesn't conform to "societal norms". Like accidentally rapping in order to get his message across. So much respect!
There's times he talks about the songs and seems extremely nervous, but then there's times like this where he seems happier than ever to share these stories. I find it quite interesting. Either way I could listen to Tyler talk for hours :)
I think the difference (at least from what I've seen, though I could of course be wrong) is that here he's telling the story behind making the song and little stories about the song, versus trying to explain the meaning. He always seems so sad when he's asked to explain the meanings. But I agree, I wish someone would make a 10 hour loop of him talking because that would be awesome.
I like how he mentioned how his purpose wasn't to be a rapper, but to get his message across. I performed Car Radio in front of my school and everyone was like, "You can rap!!"... I wasn't trying to rap though... I was just trying to say what the song meant to me and his lyrics were the perfect way to get my thoughts poured out.
I never say, "I love the rap parts" bc I thought that he doesn't 'rap' he does the Tyler Joseph way. I always say, "I love the fast parts". He just proved me right and I'm very happy I'm not the only one that thinks that
As a rapper myself, I always thought that if someone was moreso talking than singing, it was rap. Tyler does both, of course, so he's definitely blended the genres very beautifully. I love hearing his passionate lyrics, whether he's singing or rapping, it's just as impactful.
So here's a story... I was sat in a classroom the other day, and we were told to plan out a creative piece of writing for our assessment Our teacher then went on to say: "It can be a poem, a song, practically anything you wish" So a guy sat on my table said: "Can we do a rap?" and our teacher said we couldn't as they weren't meaningful or emotional so I was sat ranting about this on my table saying "well rapping in my opinion, is just saying/singing words very fast, so why can't it be emotional and meaningful. And who says what you call a "rap" can't be emotional or meaningful?!?" and I was so tempted to get my phone out and play one of Tyler or Tyler & Josh's songs to her. But I didn't because I'm not that type of person But anyways... ::stay street:: |-/ ::stay alive::
I would've immediately said "excuse me, but rap can be extremely emotional. twenty øne piløts, which is a rap band, has made me feel about ten different emotions at one time on multiple occasions."
"my mom likes the song" *boyish almost childish smile* i love how Tyler is clearly mama's boy it's just so cute and makes me all worm and fuzzy inside 🥺
I think what Tyler does can't be contained in one certain genre. For instance when people ask me what genre band TOP is I don't really have an answer because they do everything. He "raps," they're alternative, they're punk, like it can't be contained. And I don't think he raps per say. I think he is just so passionate about what he's saying that he wants to get everything out so he has to say everything super fast to do so. Regardless of what anyone thinks, they are amazing people in an amazing band that blows me away constantly.
To Tyler and Josh : “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. You guys are being blessed at this time , stay true to your roots and remember the source of all good things. You may be in it ... but not of it.
is this guy for real my moms loves it i totally got the wrong impression about tyler im a 21 pilots fan for couple years now see his music videos and his lyrics i thought tyler was kind of thug or savage what happened to gangsters dont cry tyler got flow but now that i get him he one of a kind he is no gangster even though he looks badass in his video tyler a little weird but i admit tyler his something special i am begging you guys to give me your response to what i just said
It's an original interview by us. Just a short 5 minute interview filmed at Lowlands festival 2013 for a tv programme about the best tracks of the year.
someone told me that he is an Eminem wanna be because he raps, no I just look at him like he was stupid cause I mean he is, he know nothing about twenty one pilots so he can't say anything

Yes, the teeth, and eyebrows too.
I like how he talks about his mum a lot. And I like his teeth. He's like a werewolf.
I will never stop loving how he does whatever he wants to express himself and doesn't conform to "societal norms". Like accidentally rapping in order to get his message across. So much respect!
"my mom likes the songs" *shrug*

he's adorable.
I never say, "I love the rap parts" bc I thought that he doesn't 'rap' he does the Tyler Joseph way. I always say, "I love the fast parts". He just proved me right and I'm very happy I'm not the only one that thinks that

it makes me so happy
Haha hahaha people making ring tones of everything lmao. Funny
len jackson yeah! I see that. Or make the school fire alarm a ringtone with an added beat to it 😂

"this is not rap, this is not hiphop. just another attempt to make the voices stop. rapping to prove nothing, just writing to say something."
THATS WHAT I THOUGHT OF
"cause i wasn't the only one who wasn't rushing to say nothing."
I'm all late on your comment but it just hit me !! Haha I finally understand what he means by that!!
This doesn't mean I lost my dream it's just right now I got a really crazy mind to clean

I'm the kind of person who woulda pointed it out. but then again I consider twenty one pilots type "rap" Slam poetry.
I would've immediately said "excuse me, but rap can be extremely emotional. twenty øne piløts, which is a rap band, has made me feel about ten different emotions at one time on multiple occasions."
Tyler is the sweetest human being ever!!
I don't want to sound dramatic, but he's the most beautiful person I've ever seen
I love this. I would've never guessed rapping was more of an artistic choice to convey all the lyrics.
I love his voice in singing and also when he talks.
"my mom likes the song" *boyish almost childish smile*
i love how Tyler is clearly mama's boy
it's just so cute and makes me all worm and fuzzy inside 🥺
his smile gives me life
Ah, damnit. I fell in love. Again. Absolutely love their album!
I think what Tyler does can't be contained in one certain genre. For instance when people ask me what genre band TOP is I don't really have an answer because they do everything. His hair is better than mine
Grace Mattison true
When he said he is not a rapping type of guy, I was like.. *riiiiiggghhhhtt!!! That's why you rap faster than my wifi*
I once saw that 'rap' actually stands for 'rythem and poetry' and i think that definition of rap fits them perfectly
I always cry when I see the video. Actually, I cry every time I hear their music, it's beautiful
The puffy eyes!!! :) ;)

Honest, I did not realize that tyler was even rapping. Not until my cousin told me that he sounded like eminem (don't think so).

Does anyone know what interview this is from?
It's an original interview by us. Just a short 5 minute interview filmed at Lowlands festival 2013 for a tv programme about the best tracks of the year.
Is that a best buddies hoodie??
Yep :)
finally someone replies a year later
Anybody commenting about Tyler saying "I dunno if you fucking noticed"??
He didn't say that
I wonder what their parents think of his kinda depressive lyrics
someone told me that he is an Eminem wanna be because he raps, no I just look at him like he was stupid cause I mean he is, he know nothing about twenty one pilots so he can't say anything
He's a poet, not a rapper!
*but i’m not a rapper...*
